    These Japanese developers are so weird lol

     

    Thats why each of their game feels unique. Not just like a mod/skin of each other like western games.

    See difference between this , Ni-OH , Monster Hunter,Yakuza and Dark Souls all completely different in gameplay,theme,setting,combat,pacing and storytelling all are Action RPGs.

     

    If every open world game is just trying to be GTA but with a different story then whats the point? Might as well just play GTA.

    Damn these fights look nice , Reminds me of Dragons Dogma. I wish more RPGs would have such nice combat systems , instead of the usual slow Slugfest they end up with.

    Also yes some of those voice cries are so weird.

     

     

    Rishi you din like the Soundtrack? The battle theme in this vid sounds really good. Does it get repetitive later or or something with mostly the same tune?

     

     

     

    Surprisingly good scores , I thought it would end up being a mess given its Development.

    Oh look people come into a JRPG thread and hate the game for being "boring" because of Long and Having too many dialogues and side quests for building world and story.

    Next you should go to the Mario thread and complain about how the character jumps too much.

     

     

    Am not really a huge fan of FF , but this title's world has impressed me a lot. It seems fully realized and not just big for the sake of being big like the usual Western AAA sh*t. From what I have seen it seems to have much more diversity and better interactions with NPCs.

     

     

    He is much better reviewer and understands games better than idiots like Jim Sterling nd all.

     

    Dafuq... Dude he hosts a comedy show. It is supposed to be a parody.

    Lol that brings back memories. Whenever you pop a Dreamcast Disc in a Music player it will either give you weird warning messages like that , or sometimes you get the games OST. Good times.

    I hope they don't release a 3DS successor. Just focus on Switch. No need for another portable system when they could make the more money by selling on iPhone and Android. 10 million people buying for $10 will make more profit than 1 million people buying for $40.

    Japan toh chod even China has no beggers. Fun fact.

     

     

    They should support 3DS until NX lite comes out which will be as portable as 3DS and have similar battery life.

    HP is half if you die ( Soul form ) , Which is what you will be for the most part of the game. You can regain your body by killing bosses or using some item ( Forgot the name ).

     

    Tendency makes the Enemies Easier/Harder ( Depending on White/Black) , It has some relevance to what NPCs appear and can open some paths.

    Regarding Wii U, no one denies that its a spectacularly failed console. But the Dreamcast was a spectacularly failed console too, one that actually sank the company. But that's not what DC/Sega fans would want you to remember it for.

     

    Thats the Saturn not the Dreamcast. The DC was never a failure , it just failed to make PS2 level profits to offset Saturn losses. On its own , the System could have continued doing well if Sega wasn't in the Red. DC did 10m in just 2 years it was on the Market , thats still way higher Xbox,GCN and pretty close to what PS2 did around launch too. Wii U barely did half of that in 2 years.

     

    It also had so many new IPs and new genres were defined on that console , not to mention Online gaming. Wii U on the other hand has some solid titles but most of which were incremental updates on existing franchises. Nothing really new on genre defining and this is without mentioning that Wii U is also a generation behind in technology.

     

    Nintendo on the other hand were coming off the MEGA success that was the Wii , comparing WiiU and DC scenario is completely unfair. How do you go from 100m -> 10m. 10m sales in 2016 is not the same as 10m sales in 2001.

     

    So.

    Does this mean 3DS is obsolete and we get 3rd person Pokemon with Real time gameplay?

    and Monster Hunter games with current gen graphics?

     

    Lol nah , they wont give up the 3DS line. Wayyy to risky to bet it all on the NX. If NX fails you can sure there will be a new DS to take over 3DS.

    DA you are in a minority among a minority. The core Ninty fanbase will buy everything ninty puts out , and it is probably one of if not the biggest dedicated fanbases in gaming. Nintendo knows very few people outside of that core fanbase bought the Wii U. So the amount of ppl they are going to be pissing off is very less. So I guess they dont mind taking flak from that if it means the NX wont be hindered in anyway.

    NX should have been either as powerful/Similar to Wii U and have a lower cost,better battery,portability..etc. OR be comparable to XB1/PS4 with it being bulky,bad battery ..etc

     

    But now it seems like its stuck somewhere in between. So they cant just support WiiU/NX at the same time and no BC for NX. and at the same time they wont get PS4/XB1 ports.

    Well I did not knew much about it back then but time to ask how come megadrive use to play Nintendo games...licensing?

     

    Those were fake modded Megadrives they sold here that could run NES games. Just like how if you bought Dreamcast in India local shops will sell it saying you can play PS1 games on it :lol:. But they give you a PS1 emulator disc.

     

     

     

    Didn't say WiiU is better than those, just that I didn't have them.

     

    NES->MegaDrive->PS1/2

     

    But you had DS right? DS had such a fking amazing library tho :(

    Other consoles also have many more of the same titles. But there is a wide variety of "Play it safe" titles , and you have titles like Bloodborne where there are enough changes to core gameplay and aesthetics to make it feel like a brand new one ( even though its very similar to souls ). Stuff like SMBU and 3DW were major disappointments for me. They literally played the same mechanically.

     

    Also cmon man Wii U pales in comparison to SNES,N64,GCN. Those consoles had actual revolutionary titles , granted it was a different time and ppl were more risk taking.
