What you bought this week - 2021 edition
Keyofx replied to HundredProofSam's topic in General Chatter
Nah, he's just kidding! Sam probably just uses his CC a lot -
Yea, Twin Mirror reviewed horribly. Vampyr and Tell Me Why scored pretty high most places, though. Both good games, too.
-
It does legit make a difference, though. You'll never look at your old LED TV the same way again :/
-
Yeah dude is legit modder who knows his Souls stuff. Him laughing at Grubb's Elden Ring leak was his way of saying "maybe just stick to MS rumors, please?" Yea, he must have some proper contacts at From after all those amazing videos. Like Saanp said, these tweets just feed their social media profile. Can't make influencer money if you aren't a visible influencer :/
-
I love Lance McDonald's P.T. and Bloodborne videos. Really well done. I'd recommend people here check those out. Don't really get into the console war nonsense. Jez Corden's Windows Central videos are excellent too. He posts a lot of insider feature previews if you're a Windows person (like I am).

It should be your browser privacy settings. I have the same thing, but I have Firefox tracking protection at high :/
-
Yea.. Probably went too far and gave it up as part of their publishing deal with SE. Shame. Nope. The dev dude in the reveal video is super emo
-
Has everyone been watching the G1 videos going up? The new settings UI looks pretty good.
-
Damn. Looks like SE owns the Life is Strange IP and can put any developer on it now :/
-
Agreed, but never underestimate the power of the internet. This movie, which I thought was really good aside from some cheesy music, might just rile everyone up again I'd normally say a movie is a movie, and we need to be holding these IPs to higher standards. I bet Nolan was trying to hit Heat levels of quality as opposed to trying to match other superhero movies at the time. Buuut I kinda also see your point in this specific case. This isn't exactly high art, so maybe the Marvel movies are a better comparison :\

Completely forgot about this with Justice League happening at the same time :/

So was Elite to be fair. I gave up after the tutorial because I couldn't fly straight or keep my ship level for nuts :/ -

Kinda 50/50 about Squadrons now. I tried Elite Dangerous last night and realized how bad I am at flight sims -
Yep, them and Netflix
-
Valve might pull another Orange Box surprise for all we know.
-
It does, very much! Apple TV+ might just have the best version available locally.
-
I have NO idea how they're going to turn this amazing thing live-action, but it better be good.

I think this a bigger issue with these subscription services, which is why (for example) Netflix is investing in better/more diverse recommendation algos. I got an email from yesterday on mood-based recommendations And they have incentive to do this. If you spend INR 800 on Netflix and don't watch much, you're not making the studios they have tie-ups with any money. In general, people only either pay attention to what's above-the-fold on page 1, or whatever the algos recommend. This isn't a service problem, but a problem with our shorter attention spans, and reluctance to research and experiment.

Don't take these things so personally, dude. - The $1 conversion is just standard new service user acquisition. I paid half-price for a 1-year Spotify subscription last year, for instance. All services do this to get people to try/hook. - OTT Streaming hasn't killed movies or TV. In fact, I'd argue there are more shows now than ever before and more chances being taken as far as content goes. - Lastly, I realize no one here looks at/cares about numbers, but ARPU in gaming in quite low. Regular people just don't buy as many games as users on a gaming forum. Most people buy one or two games a year, for an average $50-$100 per user spend. Shockingly, this is how subscription services are positioned - You pay that same amount (or slightly higher) for a wider range of content. I realize you're worried about Sony being able to fund first-party titles, but gaming is much wider than first party/blockbuster games. Subscription services (like Spotify for bands/musicians) allows people to try new content and gives smaller developers a wider audience. - $10x18MM game pass subscribers is ~$2B/year. You can fund a lot of lean game development with that money. Note that I've taken a $10 average and not $15 for GPU. There is no big us vs. them conspiracy here. It's just shifting markets and business decisions.

Some people just hate having fun -
Thanks for taking the time to share these stories, @Black_Hawk! They read like actual eye witness accounts, which they are in a way

Also look up Larry Fessenden once you’re done. Not before Ooookay, please don’t make me replay this

I don't think they patched it for the PS4 Pro unfortunately, so you're probably stuck playing 1080p or lower? Really underrated game, though. Enjoy it and stay away from spoilers, whatever you do

1:1 aspect ratio (600x600 pixels), mostly commonly seen on Instagram. But yea, massive borders
