This TV supports HDMI 2.1 ? :surprise:

If these brands keep coming with such cheap options it is great for us customers in the end - will only force the bigger brands to lower their prices (which I have seen happening in the past 3-4 years).

I think it's a 2.1 port, but won't support all 2.1 features. Be very careful because a lot of manufacturers will try to get away on technicalities.

I just looked at the product page and didn't notice anything about 120Hz, for example.

There are passive R41/51 as well. They cost less because obviously no inbuilt dac or amp.

Even though this series is advertised as bookshelf speakers, they are designed for home theatre experience and even Klipsch offers their combo in US. Very well reviewed.

You can get passive ones for now and then add in other components latter, which I will suggest if you want to eventually get a 5.1/7.1 system.

But 2.0 is all you want, get powered ones.

    They sound great, all round.

Yea, it's all about your specific use case. This is probably awesome if you're building a listening room for music. Or if you're flush enough to fund a full setup later on that matches the quality of the R41/51...

  3. I have an A/V receiver, but yea I don't think you can fit a soundbar under the CX. It's way too low. You'll either need to wall mount or custom build a hollow/cavity stand for the TV (kinda like a monitor riser) so you can slot a soundbar underneath it :/

Inbuilt amp should be the best for the active speakers, right?

Depends. It's probably a really good pair of active speakers, but I doubt the amp and dac they fit into those small enclosures will be as good as a proper receiver. Remember that these are stereo speakers meant for music. I'm not sure how they would perform if they had to decode 2.0 audio. Your TV would probably need to downmix a 5.1 or 7.1 track from a bluray or game to 2.0.

So it's less about best (which it likely is in its 2.0 bookshelf speakers for music original use case) and more about what you're decoding as per your use case - you're essentially paying 50K for 2.0 stereo sound that may or may not work with a receiver down the line. You also need to see if this pair has the inputs to add a sub and center+back channels.

Mind you, this is just me going on without any hands on experience. Have you checked the Q&A section on the Amazon.om product page? I find that for products like these, you'll find more inputs there simply because there are more people buying.

Okay so just noticed a nice nifty thing on PS5s with X90H tv. If you enable the HDMI link on PS5, switching to the PS5 input would turn on the PS5 and turning off tv will put PS5 in sleep mode. Also the input name gets changed to Playstation 5 in tv menu and first time it does prompt to set few things up so Sony does have few things baked in for PS5 on their tvs. Should be possible in other TVs with HDMI link also but dont expect them to recognise PS5 and change the name of the input.

Yep, pretty common and works on a number of devices. It's a HDMI-CEC feature, afaik. Can get annoying when you have multiple devices all with HDMI-CEC on, lol.

That's why I'm also inclining towards passive. However I won't be upgrading at all (apart from adding a sub) and active makes everything just so neat and simple. The inbuilt amp in active should ideally be the best companion for the, hypothetically, right?

Pretty critical word missing there :D

I was thinking I'd get a great stereo pair for 50k and then slowly add components than get a mediocre 5.1 system.

Totally fair, but just remember that going all Klipsch (or a same-tier brand) will add it up fast. You're still missing the receiver and a bunch of the other channels.

And I'm not sure you'll need active speakers anymore if you plan on getting a receiver down the line. A receiver will drive passive speakers better and provide better audio than any active set can? Worth looking into/thinking about.

  8. 50K and you're still missing a center channel and a sub? I love bookshelf speakers (have a pair of Edifiers), but they're primarily for music imho. The more separation you have for movies and games the better, I would think.

Just a contrarian view, and I've never tried this specific model or used bookshelf speakers for anything other than music.

We will, cuz unlike 48 inch this is more cost effective to make with the multi-orientation screen cut from OLED sheet (explain in Vincent’s video). 87%+ utilisation of OLED sheet, more than what 55 inch and 48 inch were causing.

Yes, but it's also about if there's a local market for it. There may be if they can price it close to the Samsung Frame 50 inch. Hmmm.

Since the offer already grants 3 year comprehensive warranty, is it worth shelling out 25k for 2 more years of warranty?

Tough call. And I don't know anyone who's actually taken the extra 2 years either :/

$1000 for 42” OLED. This is great news. I for one would prefer smaller OLED as long as the CX lever quality is retained.

The problem is we'll likely never get those prices in India.
