    Adding @Shantz too

Always had an itch for a receiver. Do they add input lag at all? That's my biggest ocd because of cod mp.

Otherwise the Bar9.1 might be a good upgrade from my LG 2.1 soundbar.

Nothing that I've noticed in the past 10 years of using receivers, but then I don't play any multiplayer so I'm very sure if there's any there. Coincidentally, there was a video on LTT yesterday on this, and they didn't find any input lag at all with a Sony receiver.

The quality will depend on the receiver you pick, but the sound you get out of a 5.1.2 setup (or higher) with 150+W per channel is really satisfying :D

And it's true directional surround if you set the cabling in your room up so you can place the rear channel speakers at the back of the room. Soundbars simulate, but it just isn't the same. Again, just make sure you look at a good model. And hold until there are some good HDMI 2.1 receivers available locally.

lol not sure. I called my inverter guy and asked him to find me one which won’t let the PS4 boop, he brought a few, we tried and this one worked.
It lets me have enough time with the projector and PS4 to shut them both down peacefully. The projector draws more power, takes longer to shut down, and is more sensitive than the PS4 to power time gap while switch-over.
Hasn’t dropped once on normal power cuts but sometimes will get bamboozled if the power cuts and comes back rapidly a few times. Yeah that sh*t happens here.

This is super helpful, thanks man! I'll look that model up. Mine's a HB1125, which probably isn't the best. Getting this sorted might eliminate the need for a UPS.

Also, I hope those rapid power cuts aren't a frequent thing :D

It's HTR 3072. All consoles are connected to the AVR directly and then AVR is feeding to the TV.

Nice! What TV are you on?

A thought, but it might be more efficient if you hook the consoles straight to the TV if it's a recent one (with HDMI 2.1 features), and get the audio back to the receiver via ARC or eARC. You'll lose out on all the HDMI 2.1 goodness if you go through a non-HDMI 2.1 AVR.

For sure the reviews will be out by then. Already a few videos are floating online with HDTVtest covering them. Brightness is supposed to reach 1000nits without increasing burn-in risk.

These new panels are the reason I settled with x90H last year. Come 2022 models and I will get the latest one.

Not so sure. I think LG said at CES that only the G1 gets the new brighter display. The lower models probably don't, but that's just me from memory.

Hey, guys. New to the forum. Anyone has any news about the expected Series X re-stock that was supposed to be shipping in this week? Has it been delayed again?

    Welcome :D

The last we heard, there was a restock due in in time for the PS5 launch. Not sure if that ever happened, though.

@Shantz has a telegram channel you can join for stock alerts. And tagging @HundredProofSam just in case he has any info.

Coil whine happens in GPUs as well. And it was also reported in some US PS5 units too. There is a way to fix it but unless you are proficient enough to meddle with it don't do it.

Yea, it's interesting if you compare system teardowns. The Series X apparently has a lot of goop slathered all over the power supply PCB, but the PS5 doesn't. That goop could be what's working, but it's too early to say either way.

This is a great channel is any of you are into DIY/tinkering.

Mine is same (same line from Microtek), except 1100. But causes restarts.

I have a Microtek too. Causes restarts based on load, so not ideal.

I have an inverter that lets the PS4 continue without interruption even though my hue lights blink during a switchover. Microtek Sinewave. The exact model is UPS SEBz 1700 V3.

Are you using it in UPS mode? Apparently that's a thing :/

what surprising thing to me is.....a Japanese piece of tech already having issues like coil whin, disc drive sound issue, rest mode issue and XSX has none of these issues (atleast for me). How come the West is doing so well?

Not surprising at all, actually. The Xbox One S and One X were whisper quiet, so much so that I made it my go to system for blu rays and apps. My base PS4 on the other hand was like living next door to a dentist.

We've see this before last gen.

Came across a tweet earlier where Sony replied to a guy saying "It's upto the dev". So I am not sure.

The MM disc mention "Licensed for sale in Europe, India and Russia". So it's an error where the DLC is not marked with the same region.

Hmm, interesting. The PSN pages must be self-service for developers and publishers to populate and publish listings, but my assumption was/is that because the game is first party, Sony must have a central team that handles store publishing - both for consistency and cost.

I’m Not quite aware of this issue. If someone can PM me some details, I can forward it to Sony.

What I know is my MM PS4 Standard edition digital version isn’t offering a PS5 upgrade that I can find

I think this this is essentially it, and a similar issue with the PS5 version with respect to the UE upgrade . IN PSN doesn't recognize either the PS4 or PS5 discs.

    To sum up:

    1. No free PS5 upgrade available with the locally sold PS4 disc

    2. No Ultimate Edition upgrade available with the locally sold PS5 disc
