  1. @ skdMrk:

Went to Croma 2 days ago and guess what...they had that beautiful looking LG 22" monitor sitting there and to my amazement they said the prices were revised and it was changed from rs.13000 to rs. 15500 2 weeks ago :)

Anyways, i settled for the same looking 20" model and has the same functionalities and features (DVI with HDCP) for Rs. 11500.

Today one of my friend was called up Croma, Brigade road to ask about the price of LG L226WTQ he was told it will cost Rs.13990 also that the earlier price of Rs. 12990 was a special Sankranti offer!!!

  2. @Sam:

i searched on their website but can't find any 22" monitor within that price range. Can you tell me any specific model number?

    LG226WTQ

Got this monitor from Croma, Bangalore for Rs.12990 (all inclusive) last month. Amazing monitor!!! Response time is 2ms & 5000 Dynamic contrast ratio, what else do u need!!!

  3. Yes. I have already scanned that thread, theres nothing there about this!!! (Actually this has nothing to do with VGA cable, its about the digital audio out function of X360 which is also available with the official HD cable)

AFAIK, the optical out from the X360 is not compatible with the SPDIF optical inputs on PC soundcards.

It would be really nice if u can give me a link or something on anything related to this, Thanks!!!

  4. I have connected my Xbox 360 to my monitor & audio through spdif optical audio cable from the VGA cable (Dragon) to my SPDIF IN slot on my motherboard, although the spdif is being detected by the onboard soundcard there is no audio output through the speakers!!!

Can anyone tell where I am going wrong!!!

Motherboard: Abit P35Pro, Speakers: Logitech Z5300 connected with the onboard audio through analog out, OS: Vista Ultimate (with updated audio drivers) the default format in the Realtek HD Audio Manager is set to 16 Bits, 48000 Hz under both Digital Input & Speakers, I have enabled the digital audio out on my Xbox 360, I also tried with the official HD cable which comes with Xbox 360 (there also not working)!!!

Has anyone have this type of setup!!!

  5. Downloading torrents and sharing files

Users browse the web to find a torrent of interest, download it, and open it with a BitTorrent client. The client connects to the tracker(s) specified in the torrent file, from which it receives a list of peers currently transferring pieces of the file(s) specified in the torrent. The client connects to those peers to obtain the various pieces. Such a group of peers connected to each other to share a torrent is called a swarm. If the swarm contains only the initial seeder, the client connects directly to it and begins to request pieces. As peers enter the swarm, they begin to trade pieces with one another, instead of downloading directly from the seeder.

Clients incorporate mechanisms to optimize their download and upload rates; for example they download pieces in a random order to increase the opportunity to exchange data, which is only possible if two peers have different pieces of the file.

The effectiveness of this data exchange depends largely on the policies that clients use to determine to whom to send data. Clients may prefer to send data to peers that send data back to them (a tit for tat scheme), which encourages fair trading. But strict policies often result in suboptimal situations; e.g., when newly joined peers are unable to receive any data because they don't have any pieces yet to trade themselves or when two peers with a good connection between them do not exchange data simply because neither of them wants to take the initiative. To counter these effects, the official BitTorrent client program uses a mechanism called “optimistic unchoking,” where the client reserves a portion of its available bandwidth for sending pieces to random peers (not necessarily known-good partners, so called preferred peers), in hopes of discovering even better partners and to ensure that newcomers get a chance to join the swarm.

Most of the trackers are optimized to work in this way (a tit for tat scheme) It has nothing to do with the ISP!!!
