Why exactly do you want to root?
Rooting a Samsung device should be more or less simple.
Browse around in the Note 2 forums at XDA.
Specifically this thread.
This being said, do not root until you are sure you know what you are doing. You can easily put the phone into a bootloop, or worse and not know what has to be done.
About the roms, what type of rom do you want? Do you still want to stay Sammy, or want to go AOSP?

What would you do with the exchange apk? And can't you use a third party software or the stock (AOSP) mail app?
The hacking script needs both the apks to work properly.
I am right now using the aosp mail app, but the lg's is better

My office policy enforces encryption, and for that you need to have a 7 digit pin or a alphanumeric pass code. Our no-root policy is enforced by afaria, which I don't normally use.
This exchange policy bypass script on xda does it perfectly. If only I could find that exchange apk.

Does anyone know what the email and the exchange apks are on the LG G2 stock rom?
I can find LGEmail.apk but i can't find any corresponding Exchange apk.
I need both to bypass exchange policies for my office mail.
