You must have heard of terms like "lets order a rare steak / medium steak / well done steak" etc - that dictates degrees of rawness of the inside meat. If you order a "well-done" (cooked thoroughly) steak, you'll be made fun of. Note that this is NOT true for White meat - White meat like Chicken needs to be cooked thoroughly because the harmful parasites permeate the entire meat.
