What fps are you targeting? If 60 fps then I think you can go for a lower one like 3600. If 144 fps then yes go for 3700x

So they should get paid, right? What is this nonsense where "someone else had it worse, so quit whining". Advocate for paying people for the work, whoever it is. I understand you need to work extra when the deadline comes, work ramps up - but you should get paid for it. In this particular case, its not that bad. But there are plenty plenty plenty companies where they make you work 80- 100 hour weeks for months and months. That's the crunch I'm talking about. Even industry leaders like Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Epic. When top companies do that it sets a precedent for all the lesser companies. "Arre rockstar bhi aise hi kaam karte, hum log ko bhi karna hi padega" - that kind of attitude.

Well he's not wrong is he? It goes against what the CDPR Head said earlier. CD Projekt Red studio head Adam Badowsk: “I take it upon myself to receive the full backlash for the decision,” he wrote. “I know this is in direct opposition to what we’ve said about crunch. It’s also in direct opposition to what I personally grew to believe a while back -- that crunch should never be the answer. But we’ve extended all other possible means of navigating the situation.” At least he's aware. This is better than most studios. IIRC Witcher 3 went through really insane crunch time, like a year or something. So I'm glad its much lesser now.

Well that sure sucks. I think they tried to hold back crunch by delaying the game but can't delay it any more. I just hope the developers who are crunching get compensated well and CDPR take steps to address whatever issues they have that resulted in this.
