  1. Ok took me overall 6 hours to figure out what all was going on.

    1) When I installed TW3 an eternity ago I installed a controller instant sign casting mod along with it, that requires you to also change the input.settings file in the documents folder. This bitch was the culprit.

    2) Reverted to old one everything was functioning smoothly now, but then I wouldn't get the instant sign casting of course.

    3) Multiple tries and versions later I have found a working sign casting mod and this one has been updated only this late November 2017 so it's up to date and should be working fine for the foreseeable future.

    https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2468?tab=description

Whole damn thing from the beginning took me like forever to figure out and endless pages of google. Seems everyone has controller issues but almost no one has solutions!

As of my last check (got so tired I haven't played the game yet just fixed it and let it be for now.) everything is working fine if I run into any other issues I will update here!

    Thanks though guys.

Also at this point in time I do have a software called Antimicro (the software that allows for the instant sign casting) actually working so it's not necessary to have everything disabled like a lot of solution posts are claiming online.

  2. Can someone explain to me this weird controller issue I am facing after having been away from the game for a while now?

Alright so I stopped playing TW3 on my PC a few months back after reaching the bloody baron, I know for sure everything worked just fine when I was playing the game back then.

I then took a short break.

Fast forward a few months, I plugged my Xbox elite controller back in (same controller I used the first time) and now some of the buttons are functioning but some are just not.

Example both joysticks work, L1/LB works, left dpad works. The A/X button works for running.

But RB/R1 doesn't work, and neither does triangle square or circle in game.

The funny part is these things are not working inside the actual gameplay, but as soon as I press start and move the menus the circle button is just fine to back out of menus.

So at this point I have tried both my Elite controller and my PS4 controller and they are both not working properly in game. Obviously everything is working just fine with the MKB but who wants to use that when a controller is just so good.

At this point I do NOT have motionjoy or any other software working while playing TW3. I have f.lux on and I will disable and check in game again if that has any issues but I doubt it should.

My game is bought on steam, but I run it through Nexus Mod Manager because I have some mods on it (nothing to mess with controls though, and as I said some work and some don't which is what's confusing the crap out of me.)

EDIT : Couple of things I have tried to no avail.

Launching from Steam, disabling f.lux, checking for any controller related softwares that might be working in the background but there's nothing that I can think of or see.

Not sure what the heck is going on here exactly.

The buttons are clearly working, just not in game (but functioning just fine even in the menus!)

  3. Played 3 campaign missions on MKB, then moved and played one Crucible on MKB. Switched to Controller and started dominating. Controller aim assist is definitely strong and very noticeable, maybe because it's a 60+ fps game. Also played against a top D2 player and streamer and ended up similar as him in the game, I'm not sure if he was MKB or Joystick.

Thanks but it deepens my dilemma of buying Destiny 2. I want to like warframe but somehow it puts me off and destiny is the new shiny thing..

Destiny isn't worth more than 15-20$ max. Maybe 40 all DLC included. It's never a complete game and they won't complete it until Destiny 3 will be coming out. I had over 2000+ hours and most in PvP but I did challenge myself in PvE too from time to time in D1, the game that I got to play and grinded the most in D1 was completely different from the game it became in Y2 and again completely different in Y3.

Those that came the latest got the biggest bang for their buck and missed out on NOTHING EXCEPT the PvP aspect. And most Destiny players are not PvP players. Yes D1 Y1 Y2 PvP was way superior than anything they've had since and even most probably they will in D2 (they set themselves up for failure with 4v4).

Literally ANY game you play will end up being better than Destiny, no matter which iteration of it comes out, it's quite predictable and logical by the way Bungie and Activision have been responding and creating content the past 3-5 years.

I hear a lot of great things about Warframe and I see one of the biggest Destiny twitch streamers now playing Warframe and it's been less than 2 months since D2 has released.

Bang for buck? Even South Park is worth more than Destiny X.

My suggestion just play on a friends account from time to time, I am doing the same. The game is worth checking out just because it's going to be 4k uncapped FPS on PC, but besides that there is nothing about Destiny that is really worth checking out.

PC life is predicted to be 1 month or shorter.

Don't think power weapons play a vital role, unless you are in a 1v3 or 1v4. Since the power weapon partially glows when it has ammo in it, it's easily dodge able. I have yet to face a situation, in the 70-75 pvp games that I've played in the beta, wherein I've felt that the OP'ness of the shotgun and the fusion rifle has hindered my performance. Since emphasis is laid on team play, the power weapon wielder can easily be outplayed.
But from what you've been saying, not trying to solo queue into games is the only probable solution since I don't see Bungie addressing the power ammo issue, except for its scarcity in pve.

They don't play a pivotal role if you're stomping or you're losing by an insane margin.

But they can definitely turn the tide of the game if it's somewhat close. I can rack up at least 3 kills with the Shotgun if not 8 per game if I get heavy twice.

8 kills is 8 players down, and 8 less players to stomp on my n00by power hungry teammates, can definitely make a difference in the game.

If you're winning 75-20 then it doesn't matter whether you pick power or not. But this method of giving the least deserving people an equal chance at power is just stupid. Just like supers charge faster for more kills and more caps power weapons should be allowed priority to players with the highest amount of kills in the game at that point. That ways good players always have a chance and so still do bad players if they get there first, get the first power weapon of the map etc.

  6. Why does the current power weapon ammo system exist....? And how f**king retarded is it? I need to know other PvP players' thoughts.

I'm here dropping 4-20+ K/Ds , cleaning entire maps, fighting against team shooting, travelling the length of the map trying to carry my team of moronic randumbs. And by the time I wipe the team on one side, my idiotic teammates spawn just in time for the heavy and all bee line for it, and I get stuck not getting it to help my team. Then I proceed to watch as they fail with the power ammo for the 5th time in the same game!

If your power weapon ammo system is so retarded, why not have a simple rule of having a mandatory at least 1 kill in that life, before you can pick up ammo. This would ensure at least the brainless dildos can't get the ammo since they don't deserve it.

First you have team shooting which is anti solo players, and to top that you have no way of improving your odds since the game is designed never to give you special ammo.

    Thoughts please.

  7. Anyone else getting like 70+% laggy games and only the remaining normal to okay? I've probably played less than 10% of my games that were perfect with little to no lag. The worst part is there are a f**k ton of Indians, so matchmaking is local but still we suffer the BSNl and Airtel of home :'(

  8. Nice setup. Looks nice:)

I'm building a sort of similar pc too. I'm curious about your ram though. What speed did you get your ram working? Did you manage to get full 3200mhz on that board? Also which version of bios are you using? I'm waiting for watercooling parts to arrive and I bought everything except motherboard.

    Regards,

    Arun

    Thank you :]

I'm using 1.3 version of the Bios but I am still using the old frequency of 2133 MHz that works. I tried going to 3200 Mhz but it wouldn't boot the system for me on that. Perhaps on later Bios versions. Ryzen also released a power saving/usage setting recently which I also installed.

  9. Here's my recently acquired rig. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions or recommendations. Lots of help by Alpha while acquiring this build.

I am also looking for REGULAR Overwatch players for mic/voice chat in game. I am new to it and would love some guidance if possible and just plain playing for fun in a group.

  10. Where I bait, shitpost and vidya game:

Some are not in the picture.

    My PC (Liara V2):

Awesome rigs guys I just got one myself, trying to get back into PC gaming. Last PC MP game I played was CS back in 2007. Trying to get the hang of MKB.

Anyone here use the XIM and can share their experience and recommendations for one?

I am 100% going in for a XIM at some point in time, right now there is no game on the PS4 that makes me make that purchase right now. But I'd like to know what to go for in terms of a keyboard and how do you guys use/setup your XIMs in case you have them.

  11. Just got a gaming PC please add me on steam for DOOM, Overwatch and heck lemme know if there are other good PC games to try out. I would like to try out BF1 as well I just don't know if it's worth the investment right now.

  12. Ok so I've had two downtimes with ACT Fibernet.

BOTH times it was because some idiot in my locality cut off the main wire.

Today at 6 am in the morning was the last time
I used the connection. I woke up at 4PM called them to complain about down time and they tell me some competitor ISP cut off the main line this time. Lodged the complaint at 4PM. Came back from the gym by 7.30 PM to find the connection already running.

Airtel would sh*t their pants at the thought of competing with this service.

  13. Got ACT Fibernet, using their 100mbps plan for 375 gb. Flawless connection I stream both PC and Console games with no issues, Streaming multiple twitch and youtube videos with sometimes upto 20 tabs open at the same time.

Smooth a.f. no down time I get the occasional lag on some twitch streams sometime but I think that's eitther on Twitch or the uploaders back end.

    VERY happy.

Connections I have already gone through until now :- Airtel. Nextra. Jio. All suck a*s compared to ACT and I haven't even complete a full month yet.

  14. Guys what does 'Fibre' internet mean in India?

    1) Does it mean that the fiber comes to a box outside your house. This box is capable of say serving 8 connections and each hose gets a seperate connection, but you all get full speeds (so 40 up and down if you are on a 40mbps connection.)

Are these connections truly fiber and much more superior in terms of lag and gaming vs our old Airtel and other cable connection providers?

    OR

    2) Does it mean you get a straight fiber connection at home? And if so what does it look like? I have seen the normal broadband ethernet port wires, I've seen the cable wires, what is a fiber wire and what does it look like? How does one tell if the wire is fiber or old broadband ethernet (in case they look the same).

  15. Also I'm curious about something. If a connection has Fiber it should offer a 1:1 upload download right?

Well ACT is doing so on their flyers but Excitel has some weird ratios. They have a total of 40, with 20:20. Then they have one of 55 with 30:25 and then one with 80 at 50:30. How does this work?

Is Excitel even Fiber in the first place now?

I have been using Airtel and probably the worst ISP known to mankind till date - Nextra.

  16. DELHI Users Excitel or ACT Fibernet for gaming?

So about a week ago Sarita Vihar just got plastered all over with ACT Fibernet flyers and of course since it's been about 2 decades since there has been any new ISP literally everyone is rushing for ACT. Well literally 24 hours ago there were like 50 flyers for Excitely posted in just my lane alone.

WTF? I've been living here since 96. Nothing besides Airtel. Now suddenly in a single week we have the opportunity of having 2 fiber ISPs? What's going on?

What should I be going for as someone that loves console and multiplayer gaming and someone that loves to stream in HD.

  17. Just for fun really. I played the Witcher on the PS4 without access to any mods. I played a game which was capped in terms of enjoyment. I can't wait to play it on the PC again and basically 'uncap' the level of entertainment I can get from this game.

The game was easy even on DM for me, especially as my build started to keep getting stronger (reverse curve as someone mentioned earlier) , but it would still be fun as hell to play along with a teammate just for the heck of it.

Best mod in the game for ANYONE.

I experimented with nothing but sword and attack builds plus high toxicity / alchemy builds. These are all the builds I have mixed and matched and came up with my own with :-

Unfortunately, I never got the time to try out a strong magic build, which is ridiculously OP of course, you can end up never having to use a sword at all. I would like to attempt a mage only build soon actually. That would be hella fun. Playing without any swords, only signs.

I think one of the things I enjoyed about Witcher 3 was that it required your to do your homework, but only a little bit and the rewards were ginormous in comparison. Like you put in about 2-4 hours going through all the build videos and understanding what perks do what and you can end up building something you would wreck for the entirety of the game and beyond in replays (so 300+ hours minimum).

There are SO many mods that are worth using in this game, personally for me even through my first play-through I was like maybe they should have had this, and guess what, they did, only on the PC and modded lol.

Most importantly the fluidity with which you can cast magic signs and use them in your build without having to feel like it's a pain because of the console radial menu.

I actually took about a half a day and made a mod for it on the PS4, but it only works if you have the cronus max of course.

Stuff like always show all map markers in world, so if you get close to something while free roaming you can interact without having to open the map 5000 times.

Fast travel from anywhere. If you're going to fast travel, might as well do it from anywhere.

    Visual distance markers for landmarks.

Infinite carry mod is a basic common sense one, I hate when games force you a carry weight. If I want to get everything I'll end up getting it eventually, why bother me with a carry weight and waste my time.

  18. Skyrim Old Version

Yes sorry I forgot to mention I got the original version, when I was deciding which one to get I

hopped on a forum and they said there are crazy mods for the old version and that I should be going for this one.

    Third Person Preference

Just wanted to mention, I prefer the third person view in Skyrim, I don't know if that would mean some important changes or mods that you might have in mind for me, but I just wanted to mention that.

    Combat mods

I haven't installed Combat mods because they all just make the difficulty higher! Right now I get smashed most of the time and have to reload most fights (thank god for quick saves) so I don't think right now increasing AI is the best idea for me. Plus I only use weapons, I haven't learnt how to use potions, magic or other stuff yet.

I saw all of those combat mods, they are all about making the AI stronger/smarter. Yes some of them add new actions and movements which are awesome but most combat movements in Skyrim don't feel 'crisp'. Again I'll compare this to the Witcher, every hit and every dodge, roll sign etc etc everything hit and felt crisp. Here in Skyrim it sometimes feels like I'm just flailing around and hoping for the best.

    College

Damn I have asked like 20 NPCs about college but never bothered going there lol. I should do that right now I guess. No wonder I don't know jack about anything.

I did however learn about the Thu'um and find it quite useful in fights.

What do I like to play?

Well I am an Orc, I chose it because I was reading and it said this guy is good at hand to hand combat, and there was a certain advantage he had that Bretons didn't, but I forget now.

That said I love to sneak up and play the stealthy gameplay a LOT. If I could add that to this character that would be awesome. Stealth right now is like non existent, people see and hear me randomly no matter how slow I go.

    Why are bows so useless?

It feels like I am hitting people with toothpicks.

Stuff I'll start using right now :-

    LOOT

    Look into Magic + Combat

Get a house, didn't get the opportunity yet, I never sleep and have never rented a room except just to try it. The first time I slept I got called by the Dark Brotherhood.

Will marry (shouldn't I choose, or just get hitched first opportunity?)

I never read books, I don't think that's going to change lol.

Dragons and Ice Spells are INCREDIBLY useful bit of information, I can never get them to fall down the cunts. Once again my toothpick bows either never damage them, fall short or are just a pain in the a*s to use,

May I suggest you some mods to overhaul your experience even more? Including exploration, scaling, loot, enemies, etc,.

Last, I hope you picked up the legendary edition (or at least all DLCs).

Sure if you have any other amazing suggestions, I went through the GEMS http://skyrimgems.com/website and found/installed most of the things I thought would be useful. I also went through the top 20 mods on Nexus and installed the ones I liked.

I don't have the DLCs yet I just want to experience the game first, like I said before the last time I tried it I got overwhelmed, under-entertained and just left it. I'm trying the game out again since I am coming from Witcher 3 and Skyrim is one of the highest rated games till date.

  19. @Joe Cool

Writing this before reading your latest post.

Do you get paid for writing/helping out so much? If not, you really should be. :first:

I wanted to ask, is it a bad thing to use console commands to upgrade your perk sets, if you reach game points where there are methods to do so already?

    For example :-

In this video, it shows all the different places where you can upgrade different skills and skill sets.

So I personally wanted to upgrade my two handed and one handed skills (I am mostly into combat, magic and such don't do much for me in terms of enjoyment.).

So according to this video, you get to this part, get the particular horse and then keep swinging at it, bowing it whatever 10,000 times, without letting it die and it will lead to perks getting levelled up.

Another example, it says buy like 1000 lockpicks, and keep destroying them on said box to slowly keep leveling up lockpicking.

Now if I can do this, I'd rather just console command and give me say 10,000 xp or whatever to get my next level upgrade.

My question is, are people, and would I be missing out on anything, by power leveling like this?

Like is there any benefit to being lower/under leveled in the game of Skyrim, and going through the leveling process painfully slowly (comparitively at least) by going through the story, and it's resulting actions only?

I will check into your combat mods and write another post about it below.
