  1.

    I don't even....

Well let's hope Roma takes Juve's position as the dominant club in Serie A- atleast for a few seasons. Inter look like a good team this season too and so do Napoli. I may have to eat my words but Juventus would not finish in the Top 3 if Allegri is the coach for the full season. Then again, he did win the Scudetto in his first year at Milan. Guess it really takes him a season to spoil a team by replacing the existing culture

  2. Title should have been 12:Live Another day!! Explains the tight budget.

Was expecting 24 eps.. didn't know 12th ep was the finale.. was decent.. Season started slow, picked it up.. New characters were just alright including Yvonne. Tech talk between jack and chloe is embarrassing to say the least. Overall good timepass and great escapist TV for those who can suspend disbelief. An American leader having Alzheimer's, making up foreign policies etc ironies abound.I mean cmon now.

This season was brilliant! Loved the finale. However, I must admit that the way Jack was shooting inside the ship while screaming after finding out that Audrey had died... it reminded me of Suniel Shetty in the movie Border.

  3. Can't wait for the season finale of '24' ! It's rare that a TV show makes a comeback after so many years and then the new season is on par with all other previous seasons. Let's hope there are more 'Jack Bauer Power Hours' to come after this as well !

  4. Any fans of 24 here? Watching the new season?

Actually with the recent spate of episodes, this might be the best season 24 has ever done.

Big fan of 24 here and have currently watched just 5 episodes of the latest season. Good to know that things are going to keep on getting better. The 12 hour span is definitely a reason for the episodes to be more fast paced. However, I really would not could not say which season of '24' is the best. Every season is so action packed that it is very hard to choose a winner.

Yvonne has been a revelation in the FemBauer role and has done much better than Michelle and Renee Walker. Plus, she looks . I still feel Nina Myers was the best female in the show until she turned out to be rogue in Season 1. :ranting:

Chloe has been pretty decent as well and I can't wait to catch up with the remaining episodes.

The best season since the time the terrorist attacked with those bombs...

No actually it is pretty good, I binge watched 5 episodes all ready. Fewer episodes means each episode has some importance in the story.

Please be more specific as to which season you are talking about. I think all seasons of '24' have a terrorist attacking with bombs :P. As said before, I wouldn't be able to name which was my best season but the ones with David Palmer were personally my favourite.

  5. Why is it an overkill? Maybe it might be like that for an England vs India series at the moment because we have problems with our bowling. But more Tests between the top teams are always welcome. I'm enjoying all the great Test cricket we're having these days. The England vs Sri Lanka series was too short.

Even 3 match series seem too short. The South Africa vs Australia series earlier this year needed one more Test. 4 Tests is the minimum unless it involves a team like Bangladesh, West Indies or Zimbabwe.

Hmm. I personally feel a 5 match test series is hard to follow for fans in today's times and mostly people would just check out the scores or read about it online. It's very hard to take the time out to watch the better part of a 5 test series. Plus, if the first 2 or 3 tests are one sided, then the interest really goes away...

  6. Do some of you guys also feel that a 5 match test series is a bit of an overkill in today's times? I love test matches but I feel a 3 match test series is ideal. 2 is too short and 5 is too long. At max, I don't mind the 4 match test series played in Australia. But I believe that 5 test matches is too much except maybe for the Ashes. I would prefer a 3 test or a 4 test series.

  7. @Chief: Have you watched True Detective, Silicon Valley(comedy)?

I haven't. But I heard True Detective is very good.

    Fargo,True detective,Penny dreadful,Orange is the new black

Hmm, might start with True Detective. Along with the new season of 24 :P

  8.

The chances of clicking the spoiler button are rather high, especially if it is one out of many spoilers in a single post.

    I don't even... emotional-atyachaar at its best.

No. Take it to the book thread. Books came before the TV series, so posting TV content there may not really spoil (much?) for those who have read the books.

Y'all can go on discussing this all you want, but the rule stays. Once everybody is calm, maybe they can see the reasoning more clearly.

Brilliant work. Dude, you are my favourite moderator.

Wolfy: Just remember this... "His blood is on your hands."

Ok enough OT. Now back to discussion:

What new TV shows would you guys suggest? I recently finished Breaking Bad :fear: and ofcourse GoT. I heard Fargo is good. Any other suggestions?

  9.

If I go ask a TV show based question in the book thread, isn't that wrong too?

My question was based on the TV show, but the answer comes from the books. Book based spoiler, which me and anyone reading this thread can choose whether to open, because it had a bloody warning posted above it.

You are wrong. Not a single thing mentioned in the TV show is a spoiler for people who have read the books. Hence it is appropriate to post it in the Books Thread.

More than 50% of things mentioned by people who have read the book is a spoiler for a person who has just watched the TV Show. You should realise this simple point and should have thus posted it in the 'Book Thread'.

    End of discussion.

  10.

I don't see a reason to ban him. He clearly specified it as a book spoiler. To add to it, this was perfectly acceptable in the last season(Afty or Spin suggested that last time)

Neither Afty nor Spin are moderators and last time the amount of book spoilers was not getting to such an annoying level.

Definitely don't see a reason to ban him.

I agree you said no book based spoilers, but he had pointed out that it was a book based spoiler.

I had asked for a clarification, so the answer to that clarification if based on the book, should be given in the book thread? That is absurd.

    So that makes it okay?

If someone tells me not to post about cricket in a football thread, will I still post cricket in spoilers tag and mention that it's specifically about cricket and get away with it? You should have yourself asked about clarifications in the book thread. His blood is in your hands.

  11.

Warned + posting rights revoked for 48 hours.

All members are hereby reminded to not post book/comic spoilers in this thread.

Please ban this 'egg man' guy.

    The reason

    Tyrion

    went for

    Tywin

    and not

    Cersei

    (from books)

Because Cersei's chambers are in Maegor's holdfast. He didn't know about any tunnels leading to Maegor's holdfast, so to get to her he would have had to just walk across the outer ward of the Red Keep, somehow cross the moat, get past the Kingsguard, etc...

He knew about the secret way into the Hand's chambers in the Tower of the Hand, however, because Varys had shared that knowledge with him prior. That trapdoor is how Shae used to get into his room.

(I think this part is there in the show too).

The Red Keep is full of secret passageways, trapdoors, underground tunnels, etc. They were all put there when the castle was built by King Maegor. He had all the architects and builders killed, however, to keep them secret. Varys, however, knows about a lot of them and his little birds use them to spy on people and listen in on conversations.

Another reason, which has been completely committed from the show for god knows why

While departing, Jamie tells that Tysha (his first wife, who was gangraped by Lannisters on the order of Tywin) wasn't actually a wh*re but Jamie lied about her being a wh*re the entire timebecause of the pressure from Tywin. The depart between Tyrion and Jamie was actually very bitter and not heartwarming as shown in the TV show, because of this.

Tyrion then goes to Tywin to confront him about the lie, and it is not clear at this point if he wanted to kill Tywin at this point of time or now.

It was after he saw Shae there, he loses his sh!t.

It has been clearly mentioned that no book spoilers are allowed here, even if you mention it as a 'book spoiler'.

  12.

I wish they'd worked in the "doesn't sh*t gold" line from the books somewhere.

Also, Jojen doesn't die at that point atleast in the books. Didn't like how they, kinda unnecessarily killed him. But hey, GRR has his ways :P

Dude do not talk about book related spoilers here. The mods have already warned regarding that. If you want to post about GoT, do it assuming that whatever you have seen so far has been from the TV show only.

  13. Yeah, the soundtrack was brilliant. Game of Thrones Season Finale spoilers:

Loved the fight sequence between 'The Hound' and Breanne. Hate Arya Stark though. The b***h should have gracefully killed Sandor Glegane who has done so much to protect her.

I did not quite like the whole fight sequence up north when those 'Terminator' prototypes showed up and killed Jojen. Let's see what happens to Bryan Stark although to be honest, it's not a storyline which interests me.

Love how Stannis crashed the 'Wildlings' party. Like a bauss B)

Tyrion's scene was excellent as well. Do you guys really think Tywin meant it when he said that he would have never executed his son ? :scratchchin:

P.S.: Losing interest in the Daenerys Targaryen storyline

  14. Queen was a good movie. As 'AronorA' said, the standard of movies has gone so down in Indian cinema that people talk of 'Queen' as if it is the greatest movie ever ! But can you blame them? I mean movies like 'Student of the Year', 'Ek Tha Tiger', Gunday, etc. are becoming massive hits :fogug: . I mean 'Ramleela' was nominated as 'Best Film' in Filmfare and it was just such an average movie (i'm being kind here). Thus, movies like 'Queen' are very refreshing in current times and hence people rate them higher than usual.
