P.S: Do you guys read entire posts are just skim through?? CITY HUNNTER What say you?
I'm a bit of a video quality wh*re, so I don't really think I'll be watching that.

...lol yea i once saw berserk manga in the kids comic section at a shop....and we all kno berserk is for kids
That's how it works, unfortunately. Anything drawn is classified as "for kids".
-
lol i was wondering why those dumb monster parts felt so out of place.......is the manga good
What I've read, I liked.
I only got to chapter 130-odd though, before scanlation completely stalled for a long time. Haven't bothered picking it up again since it's started back up. Will probably read it in one go once it's completed.
I actually have the hard copy of volume 1, lol. Found it at a Strand sale, was quite shocked at the time, because that volume contains some quite gratituous Yuna fanservice.

K Cool. How is Samurai Deeper Kyo the anime?
Terrible. They took the manga, added some absolutely stupid monster transformations that were not canon/made no sense, and rushed it in 26 episodes.
-
In terms of overrated anime, it seems too easy to go with stuff like Inuyasha, Naruto and Bleach.

True, but they do their job as starting points because they're the most accessible. Too bad most people stop there and never go past.
Btw, I recommend the Kara no Kyoukai movie series and One Outs to all of you who haven't watched them. The latter has Madhouse, gambling, mindgames and baseball. You can't go wrong with that!

Wait wait wait, another phoenix wright fan?? Welcome dude welcome.Seing another phoenix wright fan is a sight for sore eyes
Haha. Awesome set of games, can't wait for the Edgeworth game to come out. This winter, was it? Bring it on!

@Phoenix Wright: Go ahead and watch Mushishi right away. It's vibe is very similar to Natsume. You will love it.
Will do so once I get done with Yakitate Japan, then.
Also Last Exile is nothing like Gintama. Last exile ends in 26 episodes for starters and has a story that runs it course in the 26 episodes. Also a lot less comedy or rather none if i remember correctly.Ah. I dunno where I read/heard that it was, actually.
Any One Piece, Bleach and Naruto fans out here??OP is my favourite manga. There are lots of better manga out there, but nothing has entertained me week after week like One Piece has. Still read Naruto and Bleach because I want to finish what I started.
Also any Major fans? I finished watching the 5th season, used raws
It was awesome
I love Major. Should really get around to finishing the season through raws. Can't wait for the showdown between Goro and Gibson.
I would also like to know as to which anime that you guys think is the most overrated and over hyped piece of sh*t.Neon Genesis Evangelion. Decent to good concept that's completely ruined by the worst emofag main character ever. Fantastic ending though.

Pretty wide ranging, really.
Choice picks from my collection: Paranoia Agent, GitS: SAC 1st&2nd GIG, Mushishi, Wolf's Rain, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Last Exile, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Patlabor, Wings of Honneamise, Macross (NOT robotech), Gankutsuou etc etc etc. You get the idea.
I've wanted to watch Mushishi for a while now, and I've heard Last Exile's pretty similar to Gintama (though how anything can be similar to THAT, I don't know), so that peaks my interest, too.
And why compare the FMA series to the manga at all? The series was damn near perfect in terms of EVERYTHING.It's a matter of preference, and not much else. I hated what they did with the storyline because I loved the manga's.
Remember, even Akira was a joke when you consider how deep the manga was. But that still doesn't take anything away from the movie.Agreed, but adaptations will always be compared to the source material, and are not considered to have done the originals justice unless they're atleast as good as them, regardless of how good the adapations are on a stand-alone basis.
It's 'le ole Books > Movies argument all over again.
As a sidenote, what do you think of the Madhouse gambler trilogy (if you've seen any of them)?.
-
Talking up SotS and Bones bashing in the same thread? Whatever next

Haha, to be fair I wanted to say they make 'meh' series, and not movies.
Most of their series' endings suck, and they just need to stop making manga adaptations, period.Re: FMA, I was a manga-only person for a long time until I upgraded my internet, so I watched the anime after I'd read the manga, and was really disappointed. They're not really handling Brotherhood very well, either.
Just went through Srirams list and it looks like you lot and I are a prefecture apart in terms of genre preference. That explains why I'm feeling so left outI tend to give everything a shot, regardless of genre. What would you classify as your favourites?

only creative force ?? eh what ?? really ?? do u watch inter ??
Er.. a midfield of Mancini, Stankovic, Muntari and Cambiasso doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, pardon me.
he is good, but he does absolutely nothing in big matches.I dont have any problem with him, but in order to be a world class player (as u said) he needs to perform in big matches, regardless of expectations. the fact that he has failed to do so time and again stops him frm making a transition frm good to great.
I'll acknowledge that he hasn't proven he's a world-class player yet. However, I feel he's been held back by the club he's at, and that's been covered up by league honours that quite frankly should mean nothing.
I think he'll prosper at Barca, and do the proving there. He'll fit in with their brand of attractive football, and for probably the first time in ages, he'll have a fantastic midfield backing him up.
and dont forget, inter are getting e2 plus 40 million euros. Dont for one moment regard the african as slouch, many man utd fans would be a testimony to that, ask them. He's no slouch, but he has largely benefitted from the engine room that exists in Barca. I'm not convinced he'll do well at Inter.
Well, we don't know how much the actual transfer fee will amount to. If it's around 30mil GBP + a 10mil value on E2's expiring, I'd call it a smart buy for Barca.
-
Great and profitable move for Inter by selling their only creative force? Really? The only reason Ibra disappears in big games is because he's expected to do everything for them. And I expect Eto'o to do somewhat worse than him, because the service there sucks.
It's fair to say Inter are not an awesome team, and only got lucky that AC's transition period co-incided with the match-fixing fiasco.
-
I'm not sure it's as bad a deal as you guys are making it out to be. Eto'o has been linked with a move away from the club for ages now, and is out of contract next year anyway. It makes good sense to cash in on him, especially if it helps bring in a world-class striker like Ibra.
He carried Inter to the Serie A title last year, and is surely one of the very best strikers in the world, even if he only wants to show off and score beautiful goals. Will fit in perfectly at Barca with that attitude, I reckon.

Natsume Yuujinchou and Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. Has anyone seen this. I love this anime so much. I can't figure out why.
Here is another anime recommendation from me Sword of the Stranger. And as always get the Thora Release for this movie. It might be tagged Yoroshiku-THORA.
I loved both Natsume Yuujinchou seasons. Loved how each and every episode touched your heart, regardless of what happened. If you loved that, you're likely to love Aria as well. Check it out, if you can.
And I have no words for how awesome SotS was. Especially at 1080p.
-
Competent = spends way too much time on the internet. Or at least, that's how I see it. Oh well, being a NEET isn't turning out to be so bad (for now).
-
Is that supposed to be a "welcome back"? Not sure I was ever here earlier, to be honest.

UNLESS!
I have Alzheimer's... or amnesia... or both!
-
Haha, guilty as charged.
I loved the 3rd OVA, watching the chair scene just made me glee so much. Hate Satoko with a passion, that emo loli bitch. Maria (goth-loli yandere bitch) is so much better.
-
Guys anyone knows a website where i can host a webpage for free?.....I was using Geocities but its gonna close in a month or so......anyone knows?
Try 110mb.com

very much! its the third official title that proceeds Koro ni and Kai.
won't spoil too much though

Saying that is a bit misleading though.
is that in any way related to higurashi ..i loved that seriesYeah mate, it's the new series by Ryukishi07/7th expansion group that made the Higurashi visual novels. With Studio DEEN animating this one as well, you can expect more of the same.
It's not a sequel in any way though, completely different setting.
Are you guys watching the Higu: Rei OVAs, btw?
wtf then wats rei supposed to be...spin off?Higu: Rei is the direct sequel to the Higurashi series. Umineko is a completely new/different one.
Think of it like the various Gundam series. Same creators, different story. (poor example, I know)
-
I went into watching the first episode expecting to be completely underwhelmed (because it's by BONES and they usually make 'meh' titles) but it really surprised me. Artwork/animation was top-notch, as expected, but what really stood out was that the characters seemed to have some real depth to them. It reminded me a lot of Toki wo kakeru Shoujo, for some odd reason.
I'd say go ahead and give it a shot.

Heads up. Massive fan here, favourites include:
1) Gintama
2) Aria
3) Skip Beat!
4) Clannad
5) Higurashi no Naku koro ni
My sparsely updated anime list, with loads of titles probably forgotten, can be found here.
Anyway, what do you guys think of this summer season? I'm really excited by Canaan, Bakemonogatari and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and NEEDLESS and Princess Lover are average-good shows. Umineko no Naku koro ni has to be the best anime of the season for me, though. Fantastic first three episodes.
-
I support Everton, ftr.
Glad we got Jo back for another season, but I really hope we get the Naughton deal done soon, and relieve Hibbert of his starter duties.
-
Nothing comes even remotely close to The Wire for me. Have you guys checked it out?
Other favourites include Arrested Development, How I Met Your Mother and Chuck. Of course, this is not including the mountain of anime that I watch regularly.

'sup people. Bought a PS3 this week, so I figured it'd be a good idea to register here.
Name: Sriram
Age: 21
Location: Kolkata
Interests: Play the guitar and sing, and as you can see from my avy/sig set, am a pretty big fan of Jap stuff. If there are any anime/manga/JRPG discussion threads here, I'd be more than glad to contribute.
Not sure how heavily I'll be posting here since I'm not much of a gamer by default, but expect some activity at the very least, because I've been posting in forums for well over seven years now.
Cheers.

I don't like rap much at all (Brit-rock/Indie fan ftr), but this album (Lupe Fiasco - The Cool) is one of the best albums overall I've ever listened to.
Definitely made me gain some respect for the genre.
