  1. I have seen it and yes it's a good movie. :(

The character which Gurdaas mann played was actually the producer's friend. So yes it's a true story. And by the way, the lady who played Mann's mother is my mum. ^^

It was bilingually shot so you can probably find the English Version (Political Asylum) but I would still recommend watching either in Punjabi or Hindi. I guess this movie also bagged national award.

wow!...Thats awesome. . Just tell her from my side the movie was awesome and she did a very good job with her role. :fear:

  4. If that link initiated any actions on your computer without express instruction from you, its dangerous. I am taking this matter extremely seriously. Many of us browse IVG from work. If I had opened that link it would have triggered alerts on the company's network security server and I could have gotten reprimanded, suspended or fired.

:chair: thank god it got noticed early before doing much harm to many.

  5. 'Lord of the Rings' fan uses life savings to make prequel movie; 'Born of Hope' becomes Web hit

A "Lord of the Rings" fanatic sunk her life savings into creating a prequel to Peter Jackson's epic trilogy – and it's already scored 500,000 views on the Web.

Amateur actress Kate Madison was so inspired by the blockbuster movies that she wrote, directed and produced an hour-long film based on material from the original J.R.R. Tolkien tomes.

"The battle scenes and the array of incredible characters really inspired me and I was desperate to have a go at making an epic myself," she tells the Daily Mail.

Madison, 31, from Cambridge, used her £25,000 life savings (about $39,000 in U.S. dollars) to make "Born of Hope," which follows the adventures of Arathorn and Gilrean, the parents of Aragorn, the ranger-turned-king played by Viggo Mortensen in Jackson's movies.

She also appealed to other fantasy fanatics around the world by posting a trailer on YouTube that asked for donations to finish the project. She was able to raise another £17,000 (about $26,500) that way.

Madison convinced her cast and crew of more than 400 people to work without pay, and played the role of Elgarain the forest ranger herself.

They began shooting in mid-2008 around England, including Epping Forest in Essex and West Stow, Suffolk.

"There were times when it was cold and wet, and we were up to our eyes in mud standing in the middle of a forest wondering if we could make this a success," Madison tells the Daily Mail.

"But now it's all done," she says, adding, "it's an amazing feeling."

Her costar Christopher Dane, who plays Arathorn, says the experience was "exhilarating."

"It was brilliant fun and we have produced an entire film for less than Peter Jackson spent on breakfast for his cast while he was filming the original in New Zealand," cracks the 45-year-old from North London.

Jackson reportedly spent $285 million filming his original trilogy in New Zealand over eight years.

The fan film went live online on Dec. 1, 2009 at BornofHope.com, and can also be found on YouTube. It's been translated and subtitled in an array of languages, including French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Danish, and the response everywhere has been effusive.

"Wow! I'm amazed! I've never seen anything like this before - huge thanks for all the hard work it took to make something like this. Well done!" one YouTube viewer commented under the handle ToLokyo.

Madison tells The Sun, "It's gone down really well with fans. We're very pleased with it."

Meanwhile, Jackson is collaborating on his own prequel with Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, a two-part adaptation of Tolkien's "The Hobbit," to be released in 2011 and 2012.
