I am looking for a moonswatch but dont know how to procure one for a reasonable price.

I got one recently during my trip to Thailand. Quite a few were available at their airport terminal store too.

That's one way of getting one. Or if u know someone who has travel plans.

Beautiful Seiko... Congratulations! Wear it in good health. :)

    Beautiful..true that

Suggestions for a good site for watch straps? Amazon has options but was looking for better nylon or suede leather straps.

The PRX is a brilliant vfm watch. Love the textured dial.

I do not qualify to judge the price but the price does seem competitive. Specially it's quartz variant.

But I still have myself thinking of the Seiko SRPD full black I mentioned. Hopefully the store has it in stock when I visit them again.

  4. I have been a watch fan for a while, but coz of the smart watches I kinda got drifted away and at one point stopped wearing the ones I had. But recently I kinda got back to watch drooling again. And came across the Seiko 5 Sport GMT, the orange version SSK005. I had decided that I would get this at some point in near future.

So last week we were out shopping and decided to check out the Seiko, just to have a look and try it on. I tried the watch on but somehow I wasn't as fascinated by the watch as I thought I would be. Next to it was a Seiko SRPD model with a full black dial and a really nice black rubber strap on. First I dint think much of it, as I dint really have it in my wish list. Then I tried it on and loved it. It looked so good and comfortable, the full black dial and case and the rubber strap kinda brought everything together for me. It felt and looked too good to pass out on. Well then we were at the counter for it to be billed.

Watches, Books and stationary stores always made me feel like a little child and could spent quite a bit of time in there, even if I did not buy anything. So when I was waiting at the billing counter, I glanced across the store and saw the Tissot section. Tissot watches have had my respect for a while, but never really bought one. Have never bought a watch in their price range before. I am a fan of the Tissot Carson but never really found one in store to try it on in person. Thought maybe I will try my luck here, but they dint have it either. I was just scanning at the other Tissot models when I saw the PRX models. I had seen it just once online, featured in a watch collection video.

I requested to have a look at it, tried on the PRX Powermatic 80 version with the Black Waffle design dial. And thats it! I wanted it. I dint really think I would actually like it as much but it looked so classy and subtle and went well with my casual jean/T-Shirt attire too. It felt like it was a do it all watch. The price tag wasn't something I was prepared to spend that day, in fact I wasn't there to buy a watch at all but then I liked two.

Seiko SRPD in its full black avatar was must have but this Tissot PRX felt like an instant fit and I dint wanna let it go. I tried the Quartz version of the PRX, which was close to the Seiko price tag but then if I was buying a Tissot then I had to get an Automatic one. Spent some time thinking about the price and then I gave in.

I finally bought my first Tissot. PRX was never my choice before I actually tried it on and now I am wearing it daily. The case design and that metal strap design of it gives it a sporty look too and thats what makes it feel like a go anywhere watch. Sharing a few shots of it.

I can recommend Becoming by Michelle Obama. I liked it quite a bit, and my family also enjoyed it too. Happy reading.

Been seeing this one at quite a few places and lot of good reviews. Will give this one a read after a few other books. Thanks though.

Not really a biography, but the book - 'the everything store' is a good one tracing the startup story of the website Amazon.com

This one does look good. And Amazon is something almost connects with. Will surely get to this one.

    Primarily non fiction reader here.

    Some good suggestions:

Bad Blood (About the Theranos scandal - non fiction, reads like a fiction)

Flash Crash (how a single guy in a room triggered the biggest crash in US stock market history)

Bottle of Lies (story of India's generic drug companies)

Commander in Cheat - Explaining Trump vis Golf (hilarious)

Must say you have some really good ones in the list there. Haven't heard any of them before but checked them out online, definitely must reads.

Thanks guys. Pretty good list shaping up. Shall drop in here more often.

  6. Hey Guys, looks like lot of fantasy book fans here.

I have been reading lot of books these days, no fantasy stuff yet. Wanted to read a biography kinda book, any good recommendations? Any good non fiction would do as well.

Have a long list of to-read books but that does confusing at times. Some good suggestions here might set things straight.

Closest to a biography I read was My Life by Abdul Kalam and also read Shoe Dog, definitely one of my fav now.

  7. Hi...I have been having issues with login in the new site. I have tried Chrome and also Safari, also did password reset multiple times but when I fill in the login details I keep getting the incorrect details error.

But able to access the forum from Tapatalk without any problem. That too with same old login credentials. Help fix this.
    Thanks.

  8. Hey Guys...I was kinda looking at getting a car...was interested in a hatchback and what I like is the Polo GT TSI. But the cramped rear seat is a turn off and I am not willing to spend 10lac+ on a hatch.

So started looking at used cars and Vento Diesel AT, Highline variant, seem to be the best value. 2015 models costing 10.5-11.5 lac. Driven for 3k-15k kms. But a friend is pushing me to look at the Skoda Rapid as well, new. He feels the Rapid feels better to drive, even though same engines.

Rapid Diesel AT, to variant, is costing 13.6lac on road with 4yr warranty+4yr roadside assistance+buy now pay later scheme.

What do you guys think of the Vento vs Rapid? DSG versions.

Diesel clatter is something that is a turn of but I was told the 1.5 diesel engines are much quieter and smoother compared to previous 1.6 diesel in these cars.
