  1. That has nothing to do with anything. States will need to increase their quota of beds to take in more patients. This is what Delhi is doing. That is what UP should be doing as well (at least I hope they're doing it). You can't create oxygen beds without getting oxygen. That is how the requirement part is created. The allocation part comes next.
  2. Threats from powerful, head will be chopped off if I comment on elections or Kumbh: SII CEO Adar Poonawalla
  3. My assumption is solely based on the requirements (presented in court) for each state. To give you an example of how Delhi's requirements can be calculated... On a related note...
  4. Dude, I did not make this logic. The govt of India did. If it were upto me, everybody would have whatever they wanted.
  5. I don't think you understood what I said. The requirement is not calculated on the basis of the population or the number of +ve cases. It is determined by how many beds you have in the state. If a state with a population of 100 has 10 beds vs a state with population of 50 that has 50 beds, the latter will have more "requirement" as it's capable of "serving" more people.
  6. No offense but you have no idea how these allocations work. It has got nothing to do with the population of the state. It takes into account the number of beds. The reason Delhi has more requirement than UP is because it has more beds. And even those aren't sufficient. The requirement was low initially but now the government has added a lot more beds in the last week or so and the number of people getting admitted has sky rocketed.
  7. Pretty much this. We have failed at planning for the future. Our mistake was to rely on just 2 manufacturers for vaccination of an entire nation.
  8. As Covid-19 devastates Delhi, Central Vista project declared an essential service, work continues Not essential: Opposition slams Centre for Central Vista construction work during Delhi lockdown
  9. It's not about if we can or not, it's about what should be done. This is the worst pandemic the world has seen in recent times. India is the worst affected country. We should not even be debating this. Vaccines should be free and mandatory. If not, we're looking at very bad 3rd and 4th waves. It would be cheaper to vaccinate everyone for free than what it's costing the economy right now.
  10. This is just dirty politics. No excuses. In any western country, this would be genocide.
  11. Yep. After people get hooked to GP, it'll be hard to go back.
  12. Some journalist did an analysis for multiple states and sadly, the result was extremely bad. The actual deaths came out to be 10x the reported ones. Edit: The important thing to note here is that there will always be a major discrepancy because not everybody is getting tested but when they pass away, they are cremated under the Covid norms. For example, I had a death in my extended family (my uncle's mother). One of their family members got tested positive but, of course, everybody in the house was infected and showing mild symptoms. My uncle's mother passed away later that night and was cremated under the Covid norms.
  13. Right. Just that the intent seems more malice than concern; contrary to what is being said. I could be wrong though.
  14. Agreed. That's what I keep telling him. My company used to be stuck-up as well. However, they did a complete 180 and everybody is now WFH with the exception of the IT guys who go in maybe once/twice a week. Been pretty supportive thereafter.
  15. I know but some companies have a long way to go before they even understand this concept. My brother can technically WFH but his company (where the management mostly comprises of oldies) is of the opinion that nobody actually works from home and that why should they pay them if they're not coming to office. :|
  16. Is there any truth to that or is this excuse completely made up?
  17. He says, "When he didn't pick his phone, we got his location electronically". This is some 911-level sh*t. Is this a common thing in India? Seems a bit shady legality-wise.
  18. Wishing you and the family a speedy recovery! Take care buddy!
  19. I wonder what the digital sales were like. Of course, it would be in favour of the PS4 but it'll be interesting to know whether the skew is as bad as discs.
  20. At least they're following proper protocol. You should see some of the idiots getting married in Delhi. Also...
  21. FoS in US and India aren't even comparable. People jailed under the sedition law and UAPA say hi. Anyhoo, can we please get back to Covid-19?
  22. Currently listening to these on Spotify. Started with 71 and now going back. 71 was like a box of chocolates; an assortment of random talks. Absolutely loved your take on things, especially, the one about how gaming has changed for you guys in the pandemic. Totally relatable.
  23. Edit: Removed comment to avoid a possible discussion relation to politics.
