Someone on IVG with sources said that it's in the plans. I was just listening to the Xbox Two podcast and Jez Corden also mentions the same (at 50:30).

Still downloading the game on the XSX (it's been 5 hrs or so). Getting absolutely horrendous download speeds (in kbps). This happened at the time of Halo Infinitie beta as well.

That's what's weird. There's literally no news. Really curious to know the criteria.

It does have it's competitive edge though. In Halo, you strafe to throw off the enemy. In Gears, you wall bounce as stafing isn't effective.

Cloud powah. It's genuinely surprising to boot into a back-compact game only to release it still has your saves.

This is great news! I thought there was no push back on this. Wonder why the "generosity". Edit: Only the next gen version offers dual-entitlement. So technically no upgrade path but old gen system owners will need to buy next gen versions. Source
