    Rockstar were one company who really valued physical, and put in a lot of care and effort into them. Both with packaging as well as content. Such a shame to see them succumb to greed as well.

     

    I guess there's a very slim chance (if any?) that they announce a Collector's Edition down the line. But, I don't hold much hope. Neither with Rockstar, and certainly not retailers in this country, who scalp the Collector's Edition among themselves. Very sad state of affairs.

    Diwali is the time to buy these units, you do not get the same prices anytime else.

    Do not just listen to folks who cannot make a deal and cry foul.

     

    I cannot wait that long, parents need a new TV as they want to upgrade from their 55" Samsung QLED. I need to lock in purchase before close of this month. Will go again tomorrow to see what prices I can get but looking bad here :\

    I also got my PS5 pro on Monday. All earlier issues aside, the packaging was very good. The main PS5 pro box was in another standard cardboard box and had thermocol all around. Then it was wrapped with another layer of sheet (?). The main PS5 pro box came out absolutely shining and new with nary a dent or scratch, so that's good.

    Filmed video of unboxing and installing. Working fine for now. Also installed the disc drive, which is also working with no issues for now. Some observations-

     

    • Both the main unit and controller are surprising lite. In fact the main unit is even smaller than the original PS5. Good.
    • Comes with horizontal support thingies, and that's how I planned to keep it. So no need for additional stand. Good.
    • FF7 rebirth is what I am playing right now- 60FPS mode. Finally I can play in 60FPS while also not having to deal with super blurry image.
    • The game is great and clearly some love went into it, but overall the graphics are average. Some areas look really good, but some are very flat. They are very sharp and 4K, but I don't think they will wow anyone like HFW etc. There is also some pop-in in open areas.
    • Rise of the ronin didn't look as bad as I had read online (ray-tracing mode). Haven't played a lot to have more opinions.
    • Stellar blade is the third game I plan to play, unless it comes to PC by the time I get around to it.

     

    Good for now. Hopefully GTA6, Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2 and some other good PS5 exclusives/first party games come in 2025 and truly justify its purchase.

     

    Edit- This was also my 500th post. How about that!

     

    Congrats! Packaging on mine was quite mid as the outer box showed signs of being beat up but ultimately everything inside was pristine which is what should matter. I am playing Rebirth too, I had dropped it 20 hours in back on base PS5 because it looked so mid and Pro has made it playable again. 

     

    BTW, did you sell your old PS5 and if so where and for how much? I am thinking of putting up mine on sale on IVG as WhatsApp groups are not biting.

    Pro was delivered this morning, looks very premium and feels quick too

     

    Data transfer is scuffed like always, it is pretty slow via Wi-Fi and it just runs into error via LAN. Make sure you transfer all of your games on internal SSD to an external SSD before setting up a Pro, will save you plenty of time. 

     

    Pro is a lot quieter too compared to launch PS5 which is pretty sweet. Eager to play some games in evening!

To me it seems like he never really shipped/wanted to ship anything 2 days back. Just gave me a pre-booked tracking number to delay further. And even the DTDC tracking number is coming, you guessed it, untrackable for now.

    What a paragon of professionalism.

     

    Sorry to hear that, mine is shipped and now saying delivery on 21st.

    Honestly, hum log phas gaye iske chakkar me. 70k me people are selling ready stock and have been for past couple of weeks. Khair, they will eventually pick up so should reach us by weekend.

     

    BTW, vertical stand ka koi link hai kya? Need to buy :fear1:

    We know he has stock which he is selling at higher price. Which is OK sometimes, but now it seems he is simply shafting the original pre-order guys and will send them only when all his new higher price orders have dried up.

     

    It is so miserable being a gamer in this country, ridiculous pricing, week/months long wait for hardware and sometimes even software. No official support means we are stuck being jerked around by these grey market sellers. Sony have always treated us a 3rd class country but they have heightened it recently. I cannot forget the disasterclass which was SM2 CE pre-order, took our money for 6 months, made us wait for 2 months before cancelling the order. I get there are some certification issues on Pro, but they have issued zero update on ETA. Even back in previous gen, I remember they gave out updates and pointed out problems when something was delayed. Nowadays, Sony India is in same mould as Sony Interactive Entertainment. Zero communication with fans. It is so frustrating.

    I am nervous, but he has been a good seller till now. Lets see.

     

    I spoke to him on this, and he will. 

     

    However, if you are able to find another seller in meantime, he'll also refund. So, those who pre-ordered from MX2 should rest easy. If someone else offers Pro at a competitive price, they can take refund and add little more to get Pro early or sit tight and let him deliver in 4 weeks time.
