  1. Use the Crest shield (the one with extra resistance to magic) or green crest shield and if you have pyromancy leveled up, then keep running around him (pick one direction clockwise or counter clockwise) and keep bombarding him with fire attacks (they are weak against fire). This is the best option, you can get rid of the Kings even before the next one spawns, enough time to recover your health.

If pyromancy is not leveled up, then wear your best armor, equip the green crest shield and attack him two handed with your best weapon. Stay as close to him as possible, so that he does not use his magic attack. You can also use Iron Flesh once you are close enough to boost resistance against physical attack (will slow you down though and use it only when fighting the last or last two kings if you run out of Estus flask).

  2. Darkwraiths before the Four Kings fight drop Titanite Chunks and Titanite Slabs (Rare). Equip that snake ring which boosts Item discovery (by 300 I think) and at 10 humanity (by 100 more, but not required), your Item discovery boosts to 410 (max).

I could farm about 25 chunks just equipping the ring in about 30 mins. If the water is drained from New Londo Ruins, you can avoid fighting the ghosts and go directly to Dark Wraiths area from Firelink Shrine.

Guaranteed Drop is from the Knights (first and third knight) before the Lord Gwyn fight (Once all the four lord souls are placed).

  3. ^What's your SL?

The new content is tough while trying to stay sub SL 15, so started a new High Level Character.

Still not rung the second bell, but already leveled to 45 (Putting points in Vit and End).

Will be leveling up some more so that I can use the Havel armour and Uchi+15.

Also that Knight you can summon is pretty good in tanking and doing a little damage (Atleast till one of the two is dead).

He was good in NG+ also when I played on PS3.

  4. lol....skipped Gwyn fight for now. Went on to the new content.

The first fight itself was a bitch (maybe I need to level up). Killed that Guardian thingy after 10-12 attempts (Lost all my humanity).

The new area is sucky (feels like Darkroot area which I hated). Boy, but some of the enemies are tougher (like that hammer enemy). Got to be careful in the new area.

  5. @waveking - Where did you find summon signs for the last fight.

Am struggling with the Gwyn fight. Haven't hit him a single time and he has already killed me 5 times...lol.

The very first jump/lunge attack wipes out all my endurance and half my life. Then he grabs me and chokes me/crushes my skull to death or something.

  6. You're playing it on PS3? Done with other bosses too?

Upgrading Pyromancy to ascended is useful even for Pinwheel and Nito fight. They are susceptible to fire too. Infact all bosses suck against fire attack except 'Queelag'.

Edit - Just read that it is your last boss fight. Good Luck with Gwyn. :good:

  7. Also you can get Egg Head (Read up on Dark Souls Wiki) and buy some awesome Pyro spells (Poison and Toxin Spells) from the egg headed guy near Daughter of Chaos.

Its not useful for Boss fights, but good for PvP.

If you have opened the shortcut from New Londo Ruins to Blighttown or the Lordvessel to warp, then the trip to buy spells will be easy.

Also that person can ascend your pyro flame from +15 to Ascend+5, which is way more powerful.

  8. If you leveled up your Pyromancy, the four kings fight is easy (Did it at SL12, but Pyromancy ascended to +5).

Can equip Combustion/Great Combustion is 3-4 slots (Buy it from both the Pyromancer you rescue and the Daughter is Blighttown) and kill about 3 of the kings by burning them up from behind (Had Crest shield equipped, extra resistance to Magic). You can melee the last one using your best weapon, but keep moving to stay behind him.

And like Afty advised me don't summon Witch Beatrice. She is useless, half the time she would be running around without attacking anyone.

If you kill the first 2-3 kings quick enough the fourth one many not appear (Read it on one of the Dark Souls Wiki site).

    Edit-

So finished all the bosses (Found Nito to be the toughest and had to do the Bed of Chaos the cheap way by dying three times. Endurance was too less to escape all the attacks) and ready to take on Gwyn. I am still staying at level 12 and trying to take him on. Trying to learn Parry in Undead parish now. Saw an amazing video (Youtube) where someone finished Gwyn in one shot by parrying his first attack (Parried as soon as he entered the Fog and killed Gwyn in one shot). Hoping to parry using my Lightning Uchi, hopefully it can do good damage on him.

On PS3 (first time) had to level all the way to 90 and use Iron Flesh before finishing him off.

  9. I could have lost lot more if i went to that area after some more time i spend....you know with games like these you could end up destroying someone's lot of hard work...I think hge must have done it in funny way but it is not...this is one hard game....People who are saying this is easy ...dont know what to say.

Just now got totally f**ked up in darkroot area....i went inside this light and saw this huge knight sleeping. I thought he is the boss and while i almost killed him...bc jane kaha se ...3-4 same knights showed up and with 3-4 of those tree thing also....how am i suppose to fight with all of them...

this game is more f**ked up then demon souls...as far as i remember atleast demon souls did not throw so many enemies at once upon you...

Are you guys crazy??? you people walk around with 4.3l souls so casually...the moment i see i have enough soul to upgrade i rush back to level up.....

Even when you are dying, see the pattern of attacks used by the enemies.

Enemies, depending on the area and weapons, have the same attack pattern.

If you can identify it, you can easily avoid the attacks and get behind them and attack or back stab them (Can't back stab bosses or big/huge sized enemies).

Also, don't worry about losing souls. You can easily farm souls in this game once you have a rough idea of the attack patterns of the enemies.

Once you get hang of the game, you can farm in Darkroot Basin (behind the locked door, Artorias door I think), Anor Londo or the Painted world and get 50K-1L souls easily in 20-30mins.

Edit - If you want help in any area or boss fight, we can always co-op. Let me know and I can leave my summon sign. Summon for help only if you are struggling though. The real fun is to play it solo or use the NPC summons (But that will make boss fights tougher).

  10. Currently stuck at the Seath fight. Any idea where are summons for this fight and what the levels are for summoning?

Never found any summons and lost over 30 humanity :wallbash: .

Anyhoo the issue might also be that I am too low a level to actual summon people for help (SL 12).

  11. is there any guide available for this game? CHEAP?

This site has the details you have to/want to know. But try to use it only if you are really stuck in some place (for a few hours), atleast on the first playthrough.

You can always use it for the second playthrough and explore some hidden areas. Many of them leave hints ingame anyway.

  12. Isn't it Zodak's first playthrough? Why the heck is he even using shortcuts (as he claims)?

Isn't the point of playing any game to explore and try to experience everything the game throws at us.

You miss a lot by using those shortcuts. I have played the game multiple times on both PS3 and PC and still avoid the shortcuts as much as possible (The only shortcut I use is to get to the Abyss. Hate those ghosts (though they are pretty weak) and run out of transient curse regualrly).

  13. If you defeated Queelag, then you can join the Chaos Covenant (Behind hidden wall in Queelag's area).

If you give enough Humanity to the covenant (think around 20 or 30), it will open up a shortcut to avoid that whole Capra and Taurus demon area.

  14. Nah, I think bosses drop are fixed irrespective of number of attempts. They might have reduced the number of souls being dropped in the new release.

Also try cutting out the Gargoyles tail first, you will get a weapon.

Upgrading Pyro is also useful. You can finish most boss fights using Pyromancy except Queelag (It is stat independent, and getting it ascended to do insane damage).

You can also use resins on your weapons for additional damage.

If your VIT is pretty high, the Chaos Blade can do insane damage (Katana + Queelag's Soul). Only issue is you lose life everytime you use it (Think about 20HP each time you hit an enemy).

The normal damage is about 450-500. But after a few hits it causes bleed which takes out about 30% of the enemies life.

  15. Done. Killed the Four Kings by soloing it using Pyromancy (Had it ascended to +5). Killed the last king using lightning Uchighatana.

Joined Darkwraith Covenant. Now for some PvP.

  16. Hmmm.....will try Solo and playing it on PC (Will add you on Steam).

Edit - Found the fight to be easy in PS3 (Around SL 15), not sure if difficulty is bumped up in PC.

  17. Any one free to run me through/co-op Four King fight (Should have completed Sif's fight though and even around lvl 15-20 should be good enough)?

Trying to kill him at Soul Lvl 12 (lvled Pyromancy to Max possible level, but defense sucks at lvl 12), with Witch Beatrice help, but keep dying at the third King fight.

Also not finding any summon signs around New Londo Ruins, except the Witch's sign.

Edit - You need the transient curse only for the initial run (Till you drain the water from New Londo Ruins). Once water is drained, it opens up a shortcut to go to the boss directly, just fighting darkwraiths on the way.

  18. @Afty - Completed the new content? How long does it take to complete them and are they interesting?

I gave up on my main character (around lvl 50) and created a new one for PvP.

Currently at lvl 12 and I am gonna take on Four Kings (the one in Abyss?), so that I can join the Darkwraith covenant.

I noticed that there are no signs to summon other players or NPCs for the Sif fight. Also summoning seems to have problems in PC. I have never been able to summon other players for boss fight (only NPCs). Anybody else facing this issue.

  19. thanks afterrunner found that side passage and took out all those pesky archers!! that small passage behind the bull annoyed me to no end !! its too narrow to swing axe !

@zodak and @wave king ya guys 20 hrs total game time ask afty he is on my steam friend list he can confirm and i am now lvl 23 !! gonna lvl up dex, str, end !!

initial few hours i played the game like diablo griniding for souls and leveling up cause i felt i wasnt strong enough for Taurus Demon!!

now i am thinking of taking on a heavy armored guy with a horned helm near to undead burg , hope he drops good loot :D and another guy with a weapon that looks like a bone/mace, he was below the place where the taurus demon was!! he killed me with one shot :samui:

and afterrunner we should coop i got that white soap stone!!

You opened the door in the tower with the Taurus Demon? That guy is Havell and tough to kill at low levels. One good thing is he will never get out of that tower.

That tower is a short cut to get another Boss (Hydra). So you can just doge him couple of times and then run past him to get to Darkroot Basin.

You can use that short cut to avoid many boss fights in case you are only interested in completing the game (Killing only the required Bosses to complete the game).

  20. Holy crap!! kis pace se khel rhe ho Afty bhai!! You are in the new content in just 2 days!!

Btw just like u said I got my a*s kicked by the archers in anor londo. Those f**kers are shooting mini spears!! Even though I had poison arrows but I couldn't hit them much. Just couldn't find a good spot. So I resorted to summoning and got through them. Unlocked the Main door but got killed by the double boss onslaught. Will try again today.

Before going to the boss, did you get your weapons and armor upgraded by the giant blacksmith?

That guy can upgrade your weapons to do lightning damage and your weapons get more powerful that way.

Edit - Also use pyromancy, they are susceptible to fire damage.

Edit2 - Afty, what level is your character? I am trying to stay below level 20 (currently 18) and complete the game. Getting my a*s kicked in Anor Londo because of screwed up armor (Cant put on heavy armor because of low level).
