There was a time in PC gaming when software used to be 2 steps ahead of hardware. Every time there's a big new game out you had to rush out and buy the latest and greatest in CPU/GPU just to run it decently. Some PC enthusiast call it the golden era of PC gaming when it was neither held back by consoles nor by min spec.

Personally I don't get the sudden love for cross-gen games this time around. Last time when 90% games were cross-gen throughout 2014 people were mad and tired of them. Now suddenly cross-gen is the new hotness?

In an ideal world the buyer of 3080 would be absolutely ecstatic if games were made for his $700 card from ground up instead of being held back by shitty 1060. Unfortunately Nvidia doesn't make games so all you get is resolution and fps boost. PS4 also came out in 2013 when 760 was a new card. No AAA publisher touches 760 now even as min requirement. And yeah I said it before, FW will absolutely be held back in level design, traversal, AI, enemy encounter, everything that is limited by 9 year old tablet CPU and slow spinning drives.

Why release a next-gen console? Should stick to PS4 then. Its not a flop like Xbone so they can keep making it for as long as possible.

Its got a weaker GPU than 1X, less VRAM than 1X and the memory speed so crappy its almost on par PS4 Pro. The system is so lopsided towards CPU its hilarious. Its not going to hold 1080p when cross-gen phase is over without major sacrifice in graphics quality. All you gotta do is take a good look at the spec sheet and you can see right through the marketing bullshit.
