  1. There's lot of astroturfing and paid insiders that pop up during console launch years. We've seen this before in 2013 and GAF mods even acknowledged it later. The number of people that downplayed online DRM and weaker GPU in Xbone was incredible.
  2. Series S is not hard capped at 1440p. With RDNA2 spec it can very well hit 4K/120fps. Why do you guys keep getting fooled my MS marketing again and again? It can't do 4K not because its capped at 1440p but because its weak as fk.
  3. So...no bet? Why ask me wanna bet in the first place When they revealed the specs I suspected it was going to be weaker than 1X, but all the insiders were like "no, no look at this CPU and SSD". Like SSD now matters in how powerful the hardware is . Anyone who's going from 1X to XSS hoping that you'll get the next-gen machine but only running at 1440p is going to get bamboozled.
  4. Dusk dropped another deuce saying PS5 costs $600 to make, to which Zhuge replied..
  5. I'm laughing at the fact that dude was quick to point out that it has faster CPU than PS5 (which it doesn't), but when it comes to TF...
  6. Was exciting for about 10 min, then its usual Mercedes train. Trust F1 to make one of the fastest tracks look boring. Unless Hamilton blows his tyres again, this race is done.
  7. This is probably the first time you have a weaker next-gen system than the current one. Even Nintendo managed to tape 2 GCs together for Wii and 2 WiiUs for Switch They will only show 1st party games that are patched to run natively on SS, like Gears 5. You have to depend on DF etc to see what's what. MS is not going to show you shitty 1S versions of Battlefied or Control doing slideshows on SS
  8. XSS also has a weaker GPU than than 1X. MS hot chips says that RDNA2 has 25% IPC boost over GCN and its 50% more power efficient. So compared to 1X its a 5TF machine that runs 50% efficiently. 1X doesn't have HDMI 2.1, that's why it supports 120hz displays but can't run games at 120fps. MS marketing fooling people like always.
  9. Lets bet on it. RDR2 runs at exact same resolution as Xbox 1S (864p). Lets add some more games to "sweeten the pot", like Borderlands 3 from that verified developer from GAF runs at 900p on SS. Gears is being patched to run natively on SS by Coalition (not in BC mode), good luck convincing everyone to do that. And it still won't run 4K/60 on SS like it does on 1X. We already know about the legacy mode on PS5. Games that got Pro patch will run in Pro mode and those that didn't will run in base PS4 mode (like Bloodborne). If they get a boost that's a bonus but they're not going to run worse than last gen. That would be fking embarrassing
  10. We already know what it can't do, running last gen games at 1X spec. Imagine running RDR2 at 862p/30fps on a supposed next-gen machine
  11. Not a lot of Nostalgia this gen with Xbox since this was basically a Forza machine, but I do remember FH2 fondly. Running through the vineyard in a Lambo while Italian opera blared through the radio. Its also a better game than FH3 because Italian Riviera >> Australian desert
  12. Guerilla studio heads retweeted it, strong chance of Horizon 2 gameplay. Plus FFXVI is pretty much confirmed.
  13. Forget Steam, just look at the thread on Era about Apple blocking MS streaming vs Apple blocking all Epic engine games. The issue is exactly the same, Apple trying to fleece more money out of 3rd parties. But the reactions are so starkly different you start to wonder how self aware people are
  14. Apple can come up with a bullshit reason like security breach or failing QA certification with new update or risk to their iOS user data and shut down the app or put it on hold. Or they make them jump through the same hoops as xCloud. They've done it before plenty of times. These contracts mean sh*t when you have a monopoly and rule with an iron fist. iPhone/iOS users made their bed a long time ago. The contracts are also not above the law if the judge think its breaking the ethical practices and monopoly rules. Just because two parties agreed to do something doesn't mean the law has to follow their terms. That is the whole basis of Apple vs Epic, or countless times Apple sued MS in 80s and 90s.
  15. MS probably thinks its too much of a hassle anyway, so they decided to not go with this plan.
  16. I thought Ubisoft had regional pricing? I haven't bought sh*t from Uplay for a long time but back then they sold games for like 1500rs.
  17. They just want 30% cut from everything, its that simple. The difference between something like Netflix and Xcloud is that with Netflix, once you pay for sub there's nothing else to pay for from inside the app. With Xcloud you could buy DLC and MTX for individual games, and Apple probably can't get a cut if its inside one singular streaming app. So they make every game have separate app and enforce 30% rule. Epic tried to fight this sh*t and lost, so the status quo is going to remain the same for a long time.
  18. Nothing. They can do it tomorrow if they want. If Spotify and Netflix want mobile apps they can launch their own mobile phones. People can't bat for monopoly when its against one company and then call it anti-consumer when it happens against another company. Apple can do whatever they want because they built up this platform from ground up, right?
  19. That too, but seeing how people outside of India get shocked by 100k/day numbers while no one seems to give a sh*t about it here.
