Developers start dropping resolution as gen goes forward because they keep pushing the graphics. Same thing happened with PS360 and with current gen. Once SX games start targeting 1440p watch the SS res start tumbling down to below 1080p. That UE5 tech demo already sweats the PS5 at 1440p.

Sony spec SSD costs $400+ per terabyte right now. But them being 3rd party means they will constantly keep dropping in price.

None of it really matters if developers don't work towards it. This was also suppose to be big feature during 1X, but hardly anyone bothered to release extra 4K textures for 1X. Just Gears, Shadow of War and couple of other titles. CoD still takes the same size dump on all models.

That price is not that far off from PCIE 4.0 NVMe drive. People expecting $100 1TB SSD with 3.5GB/s should try building a PC sometimes

If you take HW+total cost to sub for 2 years then it comes cheaper. But for someone who dips in and out of subs that don't have annual option (like Netflix for eg), it becomes more expensive.

The Xbox just sold 17k in US last month while Switch did 350k, both same priced. Nobody cares if you don't have good software. The $299 hardware with cheap sub exists even now, and it continues to bomb.

I can buy a 40K phone that'll cost me maybe 5k extra in apps in next 2-3 years. If I buy a dedicated gaming console at 40k, which itself is a ridiculous price for something that does only one thing, I'm looking at another 20k-30k minimum in games. I will never understand these ridiculous phone comparisons.
