Physical don't really have cut. They buy copies at something like $35 (could be higher for Nintendo) and sell them at the rate they seem fit. Usually $60 at launch and lower it as it gets old. Publishers lose more money (or get less money) on physical than digital, even without considering the used market.

This is also hilarious in hindsight after FF7R, TLoU2 and GoT setting fire to sales charts

Sony absolutely dominated during PS1/PS2 era with hilariously lopsided install base, and a lot of people remember that period fondly.

Install base doesn't really make a difference beyond certain point. We've seen this last gen when KZ3 sold half of KZ2 and GT6 sold almost 1/3rd of GT5. Days Gone, Death Stranding, Dreams etc none of them touched Horizon's record on big install base.
