The rated speed of external SSD is meaningless if PS5 handles the I/O for it. Only thing that matters is if its gen 4 or not, because gen 3 will chock the speed at 2.5GB/s. Both 7GB/s and 3.9GB/s perform nearly identical, which means the SSD is treated as just a collection of storage chips and PS5 handles the I/O internally. I said this before but the actual SSD inside PS5 is nothing special, its just a bunch of Toshiba chips. The actual magic happens in the I/O complex and the dedicated hardware for streaming/compression/decompression. Something that's also possible on PC if you have $10,000 RAID card or a 64 core Threadripper (according to Linus).

No, unless he's done it hundreds of times. Just ask him to login as guest with your account details, redeem games, then restart his PS5. The guest account will be gone automatically.

Interesting, so the I/O complex inside PS5 takes over from 2nd nvme drive. This explains why even slower gen 4 drive perform as good as internal drive. Ultimately the speed of the drive is determined by bandwidth and I/O chip, not the actual storage silicon. That's a clever design.

First 30fps only PS5 game. It had to happen at some point.

I'll buy a cheap-a*s Chinese phone with giant screen just for xCloud if they launch it here.

I'm not sure, but 5 years warranty should cover replacement at least.

The XPG drive is only 11.5k for 1TB on primeabgb, but out of stock right now. It should work with most current games.

Kudos to Capcom for still continuing to release games on Xbox. -
Or a new weapon. Chains of Athena would be right at home in Hades.

I 100% Odyssey, got all the 900+ moons, then lost my save file. Started the game again and intend to 100% again. Imagine playing through a game more than once in an era when people like to hop from one garbage to another on a subscription. -

The only time they dipped below zero was during WiiU time. Most years their profits just towered over Sony's despite having lower revenue. -

Physical isn't going anywhere. You still get music CDs and LPs for most albums. If that industry survived digital onslaught, other will too.

45M if you count WiiU version. There were people who genuinely thought Bethesda IPs are worth more than Nintendo -
FF16 will probably come out in 2023.
-
Wait its 71% not 50 Physical dropped a lot compared to last years because no TLoU2 and Ghost this year.
-
It is lopsided in digital favor because there's no physical equivalent to MTX and DLC. If you just count full games the split is 50/50 between digital and physical.
-
I thought it was for first 15M units. They have a projection for FY22 but its in dollars.
-
Still projecting 15M for first year, needs to sell 4.9M in next 3 months to reach that number.

Yeah makes sense. I got lucky with GPU before the shortages, if I was buying it now I would've gone with SX instead. -

Still cheaper than the loot that is MSF. Bruh I'd rather boil my testicles than touch Windows store on PC.
