it's wireless device, right? How long the charges hold?

Yeah, it's wireless. I get around 1.5-2h of playtime over wireless streaming through PC. Not quite sure about playing games stored locally.

And it takes around 2.5h to fully charge.

The low battery life can get pretty annoying TBH.

But after having spent quite a bit of time with PSVR (which is wired), I think I still prefer the wireless solution even with its charging hassles.

I thought quest 2 is a standalone hardware? can it be connected to PC as well?

Yup. There's a few different ways to do it (both wired and wireless).

I'm using the Virtual Desktop app to stream the game wirelessly from my PC. The app costs $20 but works near-flawlessly.

    Immortals Fenyx Rising

One of better Ubi games. Inspired by BOTW has done some wonders. Smaller map with obvious points of interests you can see from distance. Very Elden Ring type in that sense.

It does gets filled with map markers eventually with little effort but doing them always offers great rewards for your character progression.

Controls are slick. My complaints regarding Assassin's Creed Origins are completely addressed.

Digging it. Definitely one of the better open world games.

Yeah. It's quite an under-appreciated game. I had a lot of fun with it.

There's a rumour that Ubi is working on a Polynesian themed spin-off. And frankly I would love for it to be true.

I just hope they don't go overboard with it by making it similar to all the other open-world games in their stable.

  3. Finished it! Man, does it feel good to have played a Valve game again after all these years.

It's absolutely a jaw-dropping full-fledged VR game that everyone needs to experience. There are some incredibly epic visuals towards the end sprinkled in with some badass sequences and also some mind-f**kery for good measure.

And even the story took a very interesting turn with a tease that made me anticipate HL3 all over again. I thought I was over all that a f**king decade ago :ranting:

Also, after playing this I want Valve to make HL3 VR-only too :fear:

Going back to seeing this beautifully gloomy and atmospheric world through a flat-screen again would feel like a downgrade :|

  4. Created a thread for this coz I thought it would interest folks who loved Psychonauts.

Will be picking it up on Steam soon. Refreshing to see a cutesy looking 3D platformer with crude humour.

    Developer: Sluggerfly

    Publisher: Headup

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, XBOX One, XBOX Series S|X, and Switch

    Release Date: July 21, 2022

    Genre: 3D Platformer

    Quote

Hell Pie is an obscene 3D platformer that takes bad taste to the next level! The game sees you grab the horns of Nate, the ‘Demon of Bad Taste’. He is given the honorable task of gathering the disgusting ingredients for Satan’s infamous birthday pie. To do so, Nate must venture out into the overworld and do whatever it takes to ensure those ingredients are secured in time, or there’ll be hell to pay!

Luckily Nate isn’t alone on this quest, his ‘pet’ angel Nugget is there to offer support. Nugget offers his holy insight when needed, but more importantly is chained to Nate, so can be used like a grappling hook or swung around as a weapon. Nate can also equip horns he finds across the world to give him new hellish abilities.

Together Nate and Nugget will explore insane environments, meet tons of repugnant characters and witness some truly shocking sights. Hell Pie is a seriously twisted take on the classic mascot platformer, come along for the ride if you think you can stomach it!

Become a demon: You're Nate, demon of bad taste, the 8th deadly sin. While not taken very seriously in hell, he is feared on earth (by some...a few...2-3 people at least).

Heavenly support: Nugget the angel does not only look cute, he's also useful. Throw him like a grappling hook, use him as a weapon and let him be your guide.

Freedom: Use the extensive moveset to overcome obstacles the way you want.

Filth: It might look cute, but there are violent characters, illicit drugs and sodomy.

Stuff: Collect things! Lots of things!

Hell and above: Explore 4 big worlds and survive challenging platforming levels.

Fashion: Buy outfits. You're the demon of bad taste and should look the part.

Random bullet point: Did you know? Necrophiliac ducks exist.

Hell Pie will feature violence, blood, drugs, nudity, sexual content and strong language.

So tempted to play this game. But I can't use VR. Hate this mandatory sh*t, I want to play this mastapiece...

The game would suck without VR. Trust me.

Everything from the gameplay mechanics and puzzles right down to the level design and enemy AI has been developed for VR.

I really hope Valve and Sony bring this to PSVR2 so more people can enjoy it.

  7. The game's getting better and better.

Just completed the zoo level and absolutely loved the atmosphere there. The antlions look amazing in VR and shooting off their limbs is incredibly satisfying!

And speaking of atmosphere, the game can almost be classified as survival-horror considering the slow pacing and all the creepy locations you have to go through.

One level has you actually holding your mouth so you don't cough and alert a blind super zombie that keeps hounding you throughout the level.

Also, figured out how to take screenshots in VR. They obviously look way better in VR though

Game has one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard. The band, Low Roar, I think they’re called- just such folksy laid back music

Awesome band that I otherwise wouldn't have found out about.

I think this song's my favourite of the lot.

I am wondering if there’s enough dualsense specific features to switch over from steam to PS

    Quote

For those using a DualSense controller with their PC, Stray does also utilize haptic feedback.

I'm not sure but you'll probably have to use it wired for haptic feedback though.

  10. Nice scores.

Was thinking of getting it on Steam, but I think I'll just get PS+ now. Will get more value out of it.

Steam says unlocking on 20th July.

Unlocks at 10:30pm tomorrow. It's the usual timing for games on Steam.

I would caution anyone to not get over-hyped for this.

Yes it LOOKS stunning but Amazon poured an insane amount of money into this. But money can't buy good writing to well done character development. They don't own the rights to the Simarillion - but they are including some things with changed names and changing events a lot.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and it turns out amazing, but after Wheel of Time - I'm expecting the worst but praying for the best.

Yeah, chances are it'll turn out to be sh*t. I'll still approach it with an open mind though.
