  1. This had earlier seemed to me like one of those games which look cool but don't actually turn out to be good. Nice to see it get a positive review from ACG.

But seeing as how it no longer has its 10% off preorder bonus on steam, I think I'll wait for the next sale.

There is a lot more to explore besides just the original trilogy. They should try doing that and create engaging stories in the universe rather than milking the core cast.

I'm assuming this is what they're going to do with the two new separate trilogies from Rian Johnson and Benioff-Weiss (the GoT show writers). I'm really looking forward to see where these trilogies are gonna go.

    Ah, good times ahead!

  3. Solo was decent at best. I thought the movie started out well enough but it never really takes off from there. Most of the new characters don't get nearly enough screentime and the ones who do aren't very interesting either.

The cast did a decent job. No complaints there. It's just that the movie seems to be very leisurely paced and it doesn't do much to get you invested in its story.

I really liked the Han-Lando-Chewie scenes and I wish the movie was more focussed on this trio. Hopefully a sequel (which seems unlikely at this point) rectifies that. Yes, I'm still up for a sequel (considering there'll also probably be more of that surprising little cameo).

Also, a big shout out to the amazing f**king production design. One of the things I absolutely love about the Disney-era SW movies is the usage of amazing sets and costumes, real locations and practical effects. It really sets the SW movies apart from the other green-screen using blockbusters.

  4. Game Critic Totalbiscuit Dies At 33

    Quote

After retiring from games criticism at the start of the month, YouTube personality John “Totalbiscuit” Bain has passed away.

Bain, who was 33, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2014. It went into remission, only to return last year and spread to his liver and spine. Earlier this month, he announced his retirement from games criticism, saying that chemotherapy was no longer working and his liver was failing. He said he planned to continue streaming and video-making, but in the form of co-op gameplay with his wife in hopes that she’d take over his channel when he was gone.

    RIP :(

  5. 'Star Wars': Boba Fett Movie in the Works With James Mangold

James Mangold is writing and will direct a Star Wars stand-alone movie centered on Boba Fett, the feared bounty hunter and fan-favorite character, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

    Holy f**k :panic:

Looking at Josh Trank's exit from the director's role earlier and also the cancellation of the 1313 game, I hope at least this time everything goes well. Would love to see what I'm assuming would be a deep-dive into the SW universe's seedy underbelly.

  6. Watched Deadpool 2. It was entertaining. It was funny. But.....I liked the first one better. A whole lot better.

I just couldn't get invested in the plot or any of the new characters. I liked how simple and focussed the first one was. This one seems kinda all over the place in comparison.

The action in this is certainly bigger...but not necessarily better either. It's still refreshing to see gory violence in a superhero movie though.

And yeah, censorship-wise, it's not too bad at all. There is some censorship but no outright cuts. Even the mutes weren't too many. Hell, I think there were more mutes in Infinity War than there were in this.

  7. Hmm....still optimistic :dwarf:

    -------

Deadpool received 7 cuts from the CBFC; but was Deadpool 2 an exception?

Our source exclusively reveals to us, “Deadpool 2 has got no cuts as such. A few words have been beeped out and nothing else. All the scenes have been retained, giving the viewers a better experience.” From what we hear, a few cuss words have been beeped out or muted and the audience will not even understand it. Clearly, it’s a good sign for the future and we expect all the films to retain most of their scenes.

So who's taking one for the team this time? :P

Pretty similar to the earlier posters but still looks cool. Could do without the falcon at the bottom though :\

And I'm really digging some of the new character designs too (not referring to the ones in the poster :P). Less than 2 weeks to go and I'm getting hyped!

Should've made a movie about him instead.

It will be a surprise if this one actually turns out to be good. Han had a complete character arc in the original trilogy. He's the last person who needs an origin story.

From everything I've seen so far, I actually believe this is going to turn out good.

But then again, I did feel the same way about Rogue One as well...so I'm still being a bit cautious with my expectations. Let's see. Not long to go before we find out.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) - speechless.  :majesty:

McDormand and Rockwell were absolutely AMAZING. Their performance was outstanding.  The soundtrack was perfectly handpicked and fit in extremely well with the direction, which was gripping throughout the movie. The humour was dark and excellent.

Anger begets greater anger.  One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Yup. Fantastic movie. One of my favourites of 2017.

I still find it hard to digest the fact that Get Out won the oscar for best original screenplay over this.

Am playing on the Give me a challenge difficulty and I have been doing a lot of side quests.  Is that why I feel the game is like Nioh, where there is an inverse difficulty curve. I got my a*s kicked multiple times in the first few chapters and the combat became easier as I progressed further in the game.

    1

Yup. I actually feel the "give me a challenge" difficulty is what the normal difficulty should have been and I'm glad I started on this mode. I'm already pretty much cruising through the main story quests after having done quite a bit of exploration on the side. It would have probably gotten boring had it been any easier.

The side content is still quite hard but hasn't been frustrating at all so far. It feels so satisfying to cleave through tough opponents that not having a trophy attached to it doesn't really bother me.

It's gonna suck. Same directors as Amazing Spiderman 2.

Also "Embrace your inner........ Anti Hero"

    Wtf is that.

One of the writers you mean?

But yeah, I'm not very hopeful about the movie after watching the trailer. Let's see how it pans out.

Also, those Avengers reviews are not very encouraging. Guess it's time to lower my expectations :\

I am exploring alot. Not rushing with the Story. And so far this game is mind blowing. I have never felt like this before with others game. Surely i did play a lot of masterpiece games but God of War will always be very special to me. I'm happy to be a video gamer that i got to play this game. But that just me.

Same. There's so much to explore and the level design, graphics and art really add to the sense of discovery. I'm pretty much in constant awe of the whole thing.

Of course, the downside of too much exploration is that the story quests become easy....even on hard (for as far as I've played at least).

I would say even after playing the new one, a minority would still like the older games for a some good and valid reasons.Similar to how a minority prefers the older Tomb Raider games(especially those PS1 ones) over the new ones. You just need a wait a few weeks or so until people are brave to admit they liked the older GoW games because if they said it now they might get sh*t on(similar to ROTR).

But unlike the TR reboot which became a dumbed down uncharted wannabe (which I personally didn't mind much TBH), this one still very much feels like a GoW game even with all its changes. They've retained the essence.

I could be wrong but I actually think the vast majority of fans will still love this.

I didn't notice it much with Horizon but my Pro spins up so fast that it seems like it wants to leave the Earth, everytime I play GOW.

Yeah, mine sounds like a plane about to take off. Oddly, it does this more in the main menu than during actual gameplay.

  15. Hotstar's got incorrect aspect ratios on many of their premium movies though.

Here's an example. Notice how a big portion of the frame gets cut on either side on Hotstar. It bothers me quite a bit and makes almost the entire premium catalogue of movies pretty much worthless to me.

    Photo mode coming soon.

They are showing the demo at the moment.

    ;

Was actually surprised to see photo mode not already in the game. Ah well, glad we're still getting it.

A word of advice, set your controller vibrator settings to 5-6.

Why though? Seems fine to me at 10 :\
