  1. ^^ Hark and throw caution to the winds. But the pricing on the HD7950 2GB (by GIGABYTE) is good.

What is the price of a HIS IceQ Turbo edition card (inclusive shipping and other accoutrements)?

HIS IceQ isn't available for shipping to India through Amazon(Amazon doesn't ship many items to India), though you may use an importer, or Aramex SnS. It anyway is much costlier(in the 400-450 range). BTW that GigaByte is a 3GB, not 2GB. Larger memory and great overclocking make it a great card, given my current scenario. And, being the perennial consolol peasant that I am, (like the SSD), the experience jump will be phenomenal on a 7950 also.

BTW, if you find that pricing good, what will you say about the following(same price as Amazon, but 3 must-have games free):

    My link

But they don't ship to India(though that may be avoided if you go for an importer/SnS route). But more importantly(for me), I only have disposable Amazon store credit. So, anyone planning to import a GPU from USA should consider this deal closely. It is valid at many US retailers, but not at Amazon atm. This deal is valid on all recent AMD cards from all manufacturers, except that you'll not get all 3 of these games if you buy a card lesser than 7950.

Also, nVidia can take their disconnected pricing and shove it.

  2. Keeping the warranty aspect in mind, yes that is the best bet you have. So go for it.

And you are migrating from a none SSD environment to a SSD so the disparity in performance is sufficient that you will not feel much of a difference if you go for a Corsair Neutron OR SAMSUNG series 840 SSD.

    Hope this helps, Cheerio!

That's what I was thinking. Thanks. I have also decided to throw patience down the drain and buy a AMD HD 7950(I just can't wait that long to play new games on my PC). Gigabyte's tri-fan edition is going for around $360 now(including shipping/customs). Now, waiting patiently for BF Will have saved a decent amount of money in Amazon's wallet(around $200) due to this, which will later be used for an ASUS VG23AH passive 3D monitor(with 76 Hz in 2D)(sale of current Acer S231HL will also subsidize that buy). This is the final plan, and I don't want to think more about it now. Enough with planning for months! :threatenlumber:

  3. What do you have on your mind, going for Kingston over the other options?

Link one has been fixed. Cheerio!

Yep, mainly due to warranty. Is it a good trade-off? It would have been so much better if Kingston didn't give international warranty. That way, I wouldn't have much dilemma. Oh, the irony!

  4. ^^ What capacity are you looking at?

It is SandForce MLC and controller not recommended over the SAMSUNG 840 series OR OCZ Vertex4 stick to the latter please -- Benchrun.

How about repping me too Ghanta-jee. :hi2::puspa:

    Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Arre aapko toh hum na jane kitne baar rep kar chuke hain. Leejiye, ek aur baar kar dete hain.

And, I already know that HyperX is kinda like "last-gen" in SSD technology. Probably you didn't read the previous post from Sweet Poison where he said that Kingston give international warranty for all its products, which is what is working in their favour. Any benchmarks comparing a Kingston SSD with the Vertex 4/Samsung 840/Corsair Neutron?

  5. Source? :wOOtjumpy:

Sweet Poison was correct(repped). Source is this. Now how are the Kingston SSDNow V+200 drives in comparison to the OCZ Vertex 4/Samsung 840/Corsair Neutron series?

  6. I think I'll buy just a SSD from Amazon on this Black Friday, since it's so light that self-importing is not much of a hassle. With the unexpected change of schedule of my brother, I don't have any choice but to postpone GPU purchase till next year March/April. Maybe GTX 700 series or AMD 8000 series will have launched by then. Till then, I can focus on my huge backlog on PS3/360.

Will buy and install Windows 7 permanently once I get that SSD, as I don't want the hassles of changing storage locations of Windows system partitions.

I'm getting more impatient everyday, and I think I may just ditch the idea of getting a 680, and get a 670 at BF, through Amazon's own shipping. Currently the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 670 WINDFORCE 2X OC Edition can be got for $468 inclusive of shipping and customs, which I hope will be less than $450 at BF. Gotta get some patience. :nerves:

  7. Rockstar posted this 5 minutes ago:

Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time. Anyone that continues to spam the comments section will have their commenting privileges suspended.

  8. They should at least mention approximate time-frame for a PC release, even if it isn't releasing concurrently with the consoles. Just see the number of comments about the PC version on that R* article! It's staggering.

  9. I think I might need new GPU..Current GTX 580 won't run GTA on max settings.. :nerves:

    time to same some money!

I don't have any GPU. Was going to get a GTX680 from US this December, but plans got changed(see Gaming PC thread). Now, I'll get a new GPU(the successor to GTX 680/HD7970, if they release it by then) in April-May. Hopefully in time for GTAV. :gunsmilie:
