Watched about 10 episodes of "psych".

The plot is rather predictable more often than not :/ but it's fun
Well it is a comedy (with great pop culture references) first and foremost with mystery added in. You cant compare it to established crime dramas. And plot, while being predictable, still is based on sound logic. It doesnt have endings thrown for the heck of it.
The mysteries in question are pretty good as well. A nice mix of small local level stuff and big far reaching conspiracies or wrongdoings. Not every episode is "we gots to save the world/america", infact they are in minority, and this is what is very unique about it.
Though the show does give a few red herrings later on.
You are spot on with the chemistry bit, shawn and gus are very very natural, you cant distinguish if the actors are acting or really know each other from childhood. Their duels with Lassie are just
And yes, Jules (detective O'hara) is magical
P.S. Spencer sr. Is as much a treat to watch as his son, his screen time is sporadic but the back and forth chatter is full of win, specially when he corrects shawn on something.
Post P.S. Actors playing Jules and Shawn are a real life couple, so thats one more reason for chemistry among their characters.

they were based on reptiles, not a whole lot of variety with that base. They all were more or less the same size except the Level 5 one but as that is undersea battle we werent able to make a proper comparison. And they DID look quite distinct in terms of features, maybe you were not paying attention enough
Agreed on the screen time. I get it that giving all jaegers equal time would have been difficult due to budget but the movie was wayyy too much in favor of one particular model. not hard to guess the reason though ('Murica !!!).

true. Every batsman will have a reasonably accurate feeling in a nick. It is not about the sound as such but more the vibration felt in the arms.

The appreciation jose mourinho gets from his players is for all to see. It is only in real madrid where he had a severely mixed reaction. And a lot of it has to do with the local press. Jose did ok in his 3 years there, a la liga, couple of domestic league cups, breaking the 100 pt barrier and 3 straight CL semi runs. Sure it is a poor return considering the monies pumped in, but people have to realise his tenure coincided with a ridiculously talented and powerful Barcelona team, probably the most dominant team since the 80s.
Mourinho is not the one for PR. He has a way with his players. If he likes a player, his work ethic, ability and earnestness; jose will go out of his way to protect and nurture that guy. But if a player irks him, particularly in case of discipline (lack thereof) then he'd freeze him out of his circle. He could be more diplomatic but then he wont be Mourinho.
I seriously am not understanding from where you got the "jose destroys players" bit. Each player worth his boots in porto, chelsea and inter have praised his man managing skills and showered him with affection. Only in madrid he has had troubles and no one quite knows who was in the wrong. Saint Iker is untouchable in real's lore so it was obvious that jose would be lynched. Mourinho has an ego, no doubt, but he is not a jerk.

Saw pacific rim again earlier today. Still epic and goose bump inducing at second watch.
One thing I reasiled as to why it felt so refreshing compared to other sci-fi/superhero movies of recent time, it had unflinching optimism about it. You were always pumped up and felt enthusiastic about the next scene, quite a contrast to all the dark, gritty for the sake of it, broken heroed movies we have had the last half a decade (barring first iron man and avengers). I mean batman went up a guy in funny mask and nolan got all hamlet level tragedy on us, iron man 3 had freaking tony stark question his way of life, and superman of all people grew a grim beard..
and here in pacific rim we have got a danger hitherto unseen in all movie universes and humanity is on the absolute brink of being wiped away, yet the movie never lets the mood go gloomy, and it does that without undermining the danger or being campy.
That for me was the spine that GDT so masterfully constructed.

The human judgement factor adds an intriguing element to every sport. Imagine if offside in football was DRSed with technology (it can be). Would take a certain element out of the game then.
Not a fair comparison. Offside in football is a very common occurrence, can happen 5 times in 5 mins. So it will kill the game, and what if the ref was wrong in calling offside, how will you recreate the exact same situation as it was before the ref's call to compensate for the wrong call.
A better analogy would be using drs only for contentious goals, like checking if a player was offside or not and whether the ball crossed the line. This should be the way to go.
In tennis after a long shor sharaba they are using the challenge/drs for a while now and no one has complained about it. People are actually glad.
Human element is nice but it should not end up affecting the result.

The mata/luiz this was a random cookup and many bought it, even top news agencies for some inexplicable reason.

captains and boards should understand that drs is not mandatory to take. Look at cook's venture, he used it when he was most confident. You are not supposed to use it at 30% chance, and it is no crime if it is left over. Think of it this way, if drs were not there would the umpiring errors be reduced ? was it drs that made Dar do a brain fart at broad's edge ? No. Drs just gives you a chance to challenge at blatantly wrong decisions, or ones where you feel you have been done wrong. The captain should consult players at important positions in the field before going for a review. Similarly, both the batsmen should have a talk before one of them asks for a review.
captains are over-thinking on drs. It is just a referral, even if you run out of them early, the match is still left to play, a game of bat and ball.

there is a difference between a caricature which chennai express is vs an 'exploitation' movie, the latter panders to a specific section of population that is recognized by either a community affiliation or an enthusiasm for a particular thing (cars and Fast and furious for example).
Chennai express is not marketed for TN, it is marketed to the north population that will laugh their asses off at the exaggerated stereotyping.

OMG how can anyone even endure BMB? All my rage controlling instincts were challenged. This is quite possibly the slowest most boring time I've spent after paying for it. At one time some children were making noises and I was more interested in those! Not kidding. Not exaggerating.
Either all the sikhs are doing community service by going again and watching this movie or anyone who recommends this thoroughly morbid fare is absolutely demented.
I'm usually very accepting of all point of views but this has broken that limit.
The story which isn't worth more than 5 minutes is dragged on to more than 3 hours. The same moronic and quite frankly psychologically scarring background score has been overused in every possible situation. I can safely make a wager that half the runtime of the movie is in slow motion and becomes like a torture of meaningless sequences.
Instead if it taking bits from Rocky, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikanader and Moneyball, this is a colossal whack of a movie. It has no direction, no sense of purpose and even the acting is bad. The Punjabi comes and goes, there are like 5 expressions throughout by everyone, and this could be longest screen time taken by any main protagonist ever.
Also, it was funny to me how a runner's upper body is all muscular and slightly beefy while his legs have nowhere near any sort of definition. He is a runner. What were they thinking, that they will just edit out the sequences which show his legs?
Now I can acknowledge beyond a doubt that RDB was Aamir's, and ROM is just a tag along hack.
What a sh*t show.
