Saw "Taken" on Tyler's recommendation. Story was pretty straightforward but the action was superb, a decent quick watch.

Thanks a lot Tyler, will look into the ones I haven't seen yet.

Can anyone suggest any good movies in the following genres:
Horror
Thriller/Suspense/Mystery
Action
I would prefer if the movies are more recent releases.

The new speedtest blows, most Indian connections will now be given as a decimal figure...and it's inaccurate.
:/

anyone used Photon+/ Reliance USB broadband??
the deals seem awesome, 3mbps on a usb drive, with 10 gigs d/l for 1200/- p.m.
if anyone has experienced the actual performance, would be a killer buy. Seriously thinking of it..
If you want to actually use your internet connection then I wouldn't recommend it...

Welcome Saurabh aka Maverick hope you have a pleasant experience on the forum.

-
Saw Body of Lies today, overall a decent Ridley Scott film, nothing spectacular. Dicaprio's performance is worth a quick mention.

I really don't think this site is reliable...

Anybody here has any experience with routers? I was thinking of picking this one up for INR 1550/-
Need some advice on the following:
* I've already been given a static IP from TATA (10.9.60.xx), and the default IP for NETGEAR routers starts with "192.168.1." so how exactly would this work out?
* I use a javascript page to login, so how would I set up the settings for the router to login automatically (PPPoE)?
* My PC has been assigned a MAC address would this cause any problems?
* Any other things you guys think should be mentioned feel free....

Does anyone know when the base broadband infrastructure in India was created and what is it's full potential? Because the way things are going here it seems while the world is progressing towards broadband growth and penetration of potential markets, in India we take a step back everyday.

Well this sucks, does TRAI want to take us back to the dark ages of the internet? Here we all are waiting for more affordable unlimited plans in the age of streaming HD video and TRAI allows the ISPs an easy backdoor to cheap out in the name of 'fair use'. Who is it fair for anyway - the consumers who paid the extra dough for 'unlimited' usage? Don't think so. Why is this needed anyway, did the ISPs expect the unlimited plan subscribers use their connections for checking emails only? Of course they will use it 24x7 for downloading. The ISPs just found a way to increase profit by increasing the number of subscribers without adding more international bandwidth. doh.gif
Oh and that limit is for download + upload for sure, no matter what customer care is saying now.
Exactly...
-
It's the 80-20 rule.
80% of bandwidth being used up by 20% of the subscribers.
Overcharge the 20. The 80 wouldn't mind.
Why don't we just kill the 80...?

-
Read up a bit more on it, seems that the TRAI has basically allowed ISPs to create their own fair usage policy to reduce the effect of "bandwidth huggers" in their respective networks...
-
This f**king blows...
=/
-
^^ yeah ..sad but true .. to top it Airtel is the great poineer to propose the suggestion to TRAI so tomorrow if it comes as directive from TRAI to rest of ISPs then we all are fuked...
Isn't TRAI here to promote growth of the broadband sector, or are they here to help ISPs reduce costs?
Edit #1: I just read up on the matter and these limits apply to all ISPs w.e.f. Feb. 7th, seems It's due to a new bill passed by the TRAI after all...
Edit #2: The name of the policy: "Fair User Download" .....ironic yes?
