ok so a rough calculation would be :
18k ~ Proc
9k ~ Mobo
12k ~ GPU
5k ~ HDD
3k ~ Ram
1.2k ~ DVD Writer
2-3k ~ Case + PSU
all this is useless if he wants to game occasionally considering he has an x360 and just wants to use this box for downloading + Listening to Music + Watching movies.

you guys are seriously confusing me. so is the e8500 good enuf to last 2 years?? we get 3000+ electricity bill as it is . anymore and my leeching will be shut down permanently
Yes e8500 is good enuff to last 2-3 years...Quad will def add some more to that 3k...trust me on that...

If he can spare 50k for cpu i see no reason going for an entry level Quad Core.
Well if he has to gor 9 series Quad then he has to shell min 18-19k just for the proc

When did the processor speed started determining which proc is better or not ?
Regarding Hex core, nothing is confirmed like you said but then if u get a dual core now just because Hex core is coming out, i dont see why one has to abandon the quad core and say its performance is not as a good as a Dual Core.
Please post some proof where a Dual Core > Quad Core rather some benchmarks.
For the same price Core 2 Duo CPUs outperform the Quads (in gaming benchmarks). Although the Quads should take the performance crown in the next couple of years.

Absolutely...the main reason i asked ankur to check Core 2 duo first.
Ankur buy a core 2 duo as the Quad is just entry level and even dual core will easily last you 2-3 years(with less bills and better performance(in some applications))

A 3.0 ghz processor can practically play every games flawlessly at at least Medium with a averagely good video card + yes Quads are not taking advantage fully of their power + next year 6 cores (Hex 2 duo?) are coming out (not confirmed by intel, but im pretty sure + TrustedReview says so)

get a coolermaster Extreme 600 W should cost you around 3500 and this PSU can run any rig flawlessly(albeit you are planning SLI then i will recommend a min 750W)
Also dual core are more overclockable then Quad core if you get a 3.14 Factory clocked you can easy overclock to 3.75 or mayb 4 also...

i Sold it in a month the display is great but that is all....i still prefer a mp3 palyer for music...as i have a heavy user of mobile and need battery big time...
But the iphone is a good style statement...i think it is 16k for 8gb and you can crack it yourself...

I would say M600 (if you don't need a camera). Unfortunately they don't manufacture it anymore.
So maybe P1i (Sony Ericsson). I think its abt 15-16K now.
My vote goes to both Sony P1i and HTC touch
P1i is not a Touchscreen but is one good phone with many features.
HTC touch has a very classy look, even that is my fav
P1i I touch screen with QWERTY keyboards

its nearly 430$ for PS3
But he said me to transfer money first thru WU and provide MTCN, then he will ship me the product .
I was a bit cautious about sending the money first that too through WU.
I am seeking help from you to know the best place(online/Local market/Grey market) to buy PS3 at a best price.
The deal is great...SInce you talk$ i am presuming yoiu doing deal in US and he is shipping it here to India.
Well you will have to look into custom issues alos.
Plus no warranty on an outside console so you will have to take both things into consoderation but the price being offered is great.
40 Gb are one of the most reliable PS3 as they have a 65nm thing and also the latest Blu Ray players which are more robust then the one used in 60 Gb.
If custom can be worked out i think it is a great deal as all PS3 games are region Free anyway....
The guy is from China, he will be importing from china.
But the problem is that he is asking me to send the money first and they he will dispatch the product
I have tried to convince him that once he delivers the product at the same moment i will send him the MTCN number.
but he did not agree for that. So i am feeling a bit suspicious about the whole thing and i am holding back
