  1. Does it work as well with finger as with the stylus? And how hard is it to stuff in your pocket / use as just a phone if you're moving from a Nexus S?

It obviously works just fine with the finger. The stylus is enabled by a Wacom digitizer overlay on the capacitive layer, so fingers and stylus both work just fine.

Its size renders it best suited for people with large hands. I thoroughly appreciate the size since typing on the virtual keyboards is much much easier for me now.

  2. I have tried the monster beats pro , I will be honest , for 400$ cans the sound was very bland , the bass was good though ( better than the SkullCandies for sure ) but the sound reproduction wasn't nearly as good as my 120$ M-50 s ..

I don't mean to offend you yaar , but my heart aches a little whenever I see people buying overhyped stuff like Dr Dre , Skullcandy , Bose or even COD for that matter ..

    COD

I tried the Beats Pro and the Detox Limited Edition. They are good, but not worth the price tag. On the other hand, the Solo HD is, IMO, well worth it. The bass is not overpowering, there's great midrange and better than expected high range output.

  3. nope :fear:

    :scarerun:

and it's not like i hate them, the price that they were being sold for (~350ish) was too much, it was waaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced, hence why i dislike them, it has more to do because of a celebrity endorsement warranting a higher price and selling much more units than better phones at that price that has me irked up.

So you're just like all those idiots on the internet spewing hate against products without actually using them firsthand.

I am disappointed abhi. Didnt expect this from you.

In any case, the Solo HD costs $200 on Amazon and I got it for less than that.

  4. after reading the last line i think i should shut up :)

Neither do i own a sports car of hell, even a normal car, but i have my techniques right, that does not make a blabber-er(?) even if i don't own it, i roughly have an idea of what to expect and what not to.

I wasnt trying to belittle you with that query. I was curious since you seem to be quite vehemently against them.

Okay. Rephrase. Have you tried Dres?

  5. the thing is that in a pretty short frame of time, you can only realize things that are most evident such as bass impact, you dont have the time to check how tight it is or the extension.

Give them time of even 1- hours and then you can notice the difference, it's subtle at best but the subtle difference transforms in a ginormous valley of torn hearts when you put the older headphone and listen to A/B comparisons

I'm not saying they are bad, but you could have gotten better headphones for the price range.

btw the only thing bose is decent for is ANR, nothing else

On a purchase decision like this, its not very hard to make up your mind. The difficult part is sifting through the myriad opinions and reviews online and deciding which device's general consensus meets your requirements or expectations. This first step will help you narrow down your choices dramatically.

The second step is trying it out with music samples that you are well versed with and bringing along your existing workhorse, allowing you to test the sound quality of the cans against a benchmark you know well, using music you know well.

Having done all this, if the prospective purchase meets or surpasses your expectations, there is no need to keep looking out for other options. The Solo HD frankly exceeded my expectations. I am no audiophile, but I use enough different capable sound systems at home, at work and on the move, to know what I should be looking for and what appeals to me.

One query. Have you owned a set of Dres?

  6. Yeah they are good for hip hop because of the bass they have.

Yes and it appears that Mosnter has improved the sound quality of the Dres from their initial batches in 2008 and 2009. There is remarkable clarity even in the upper end of the range, where the Dres have historically been less adept than their price tags suggest. Listening to Eminem's "Cleaning out my Closet" or Shinedown's "Energy" on the Dres was a revelatory experience.

  7. MT , I am disappoint

Dr Dre ? Did you actually do any research before buying ?

I am disappoint that you think I wouldnt do research before buying.

Dr dre retails for around $170 for white and black and red ones for $ 20 extra.

They sound like a $100 headphone. They look awesome though

I read all the reviews, all the positive and negative comments and opinions on the Dres. Then I went into the store with my Zune HD loaded up with my favorite playlist and tried on three models.

I own headphones and earphones from across the price range ($20 - $400). The Solo HD is astonishingly good for the type of music I listen to which is mainly rock and hip hop. The experience of listening to that type of music on the Dres is even better than my Bose QC3s and the Denons. The Bose and Denon and undoubtedly purer in sound reproduction, but I enjoy listening to my music more when using the Dres. That was the clincher for me.

  8. took taurus down to a splinter of his health and then i fell off the bridge :|

There is a trick to beating him.

When he appears, run back to the door you entered the bridge from. To the left of the door is a ladder that will take you to the rooftop. Climb up, kill the snipers and wait for Taurus to stand below you and use the plunging attack (RB or L1) to dramatically reduce his health. Dodge, climb back up and repeat. Finish him off in 3 tries.

  9. yup, even i found that bonfire made the game easier in comparison to demon souls, but the enemies are of the same level, and lol both games have the same cheap bowling ball shot in the first level :giggle:

It aint a Souls game without cheap enemy tricks. The bowling ball was the least of it. The Dragon burning everything on the bridge, including me as you begin the upper section of the Undead Burg is super duper cheap.

  10. BTW: This game is epic. Very much like Demon's Souls, just a little easier on the frustration thanks to the bonfires. Restarted as a Wanderer cuz I wasn't happy with the clumsiness of my original Knight. Managed to have my a*s handed to me on numerous occasions, inspite of the Wanderer's better agility.

    Loving it so far :D
