Ya but just for wrong judgement of character, he shouldn't be jailed or ruined, just because laws are made like that. The POSH law, though gender biased has a misuse clause added, and so there is very less misuse. Similarly all laws should have such checks and balances, but government doesn't want it to happen. Luckily Maharashtra government has added 3 years jail term for false cases in women related crimes in Shakti act, so that's a good start. But then they added extremely vague 354E which will screw more men.

As someone who got married twice, one by love marriage and other by arranged marriage, and had a bunch of flings in between, I can surely say concept of incel isn't applicable to Indians. The arranged marriage matchmaking itself will get you laid even before actual arranged marriage. Indian women are as horny if not more horny than Indian men. I mean it's DNA or whatever, but daughter of a horny Indian man will obviously be horny, just like his son.
Some will easily sleep with you within a week of courtship. It's baffling that people believe incels are possible in India. In west yes, if you are a loser you won't get laid or married unless you pay. Here even the biggest loser no matter how poor or bald or fat or gross will get a wife thanks to concept of arranged marriage. His parents or relatives will find someone for him, unless that guy expects a 10/10 girl.
But voluntary celibates can and do exist by choice. Involuntary do not.

Rural areas seriously need education of laws. Majority of husband murders are happening in rural areas, most due to adultery of wife. Her bf and she gets rid of husbands. Dainik Bhaskar had an article about some small town in MP where at least 7-8 husbands were murdered by wives in month or so. Headline was something like: Bewafa patniyan kar rahi apne pati ka katl.
In urban areas, law knowledge is there. So wives when caught can easily file cases and at least keep the husband alive, and do settlement on their own terms. It is counter intuitive but at least murders will stop. One wife in Pune, when caught on video filed case under IT act and 354 on husband and his advocate saying they outraged her modesty by shooting her video with her bf, and watching it, so both had to apply for anticipatory bail. The advocate took like 10 advocates with him to show judge that they are standing with him in solidarity
Pretty high profile case too. The BF was son of MLA or ex MLA something. Advocate is a big shot too. That case was featured in front page of Pune mirror.

Almost all false 498a wives tell the same story to their relatives. Do you really think they will tell relatives the truth like oh no I was abusive or I was having an affair or I demanded him to stay with me and leave his parents etc!
Unless guy is convicted by court based on crystal clear evidence of dowry demand and abuse like on audio or video, all these are just stories to save face.
Believe evidence, not people.

Giving dowry is a already a punishable offense. Just that police don't take action on the dowry givers. There are many cases where bride's side beat up husband for refusing to take dowry, because giving dowry was prestige issue in many many communities.

Also this harassment due to dowry demand doesn't happen in reality. It's just a copy pasted template complaint. Those days are long over. Even the flipkart founder was booked in 498a, 11 years after marriage. His wife said he was demanding something like 10 lakh dowry. Imagine a billionaire asking for dowry. Later it was found that his wife and his sister are already involved in property dispute and civil suite was filed. Then wife filed 498a to pressurise them.
Lalkrishna Advani was booked in 498a. Shoaib Malik was booked by a random Hyderabadi woman in 498a. Yes, Pakistani cricketer was booked into 498a by Indian woman. Thoughts and prayers with Glen Maxwell lol. Mohammad Shami was booked in 498a and he attempted suicide thrice. Anil kumble's wife filed 498a on her ex husband Kumar Jagirdar who fought till supreme court to get and win custody of his child.

The poster child of anti dowry movement Nisha Sharma, who even went to Oprah Winfrey show, was hailed as modern woman of India because she refused giving dowry and sent back husband and his family from marriage hall. After 11 years court acquitted her husband and mentioned that complaint was false, as she was against marriage due to an affair and wanted to marry her bf, but her family forced her to marry.
The real kicker? She herself and her family was booked in 498a by her brother's wife in 2013 or something

And it seems to be the only way to put to an end to this practise.
The dowry death law is absolutely horrible.
Any unnatural death of wife within 7 years of marriage can be converted into dowry death if her parents want to make quick buck. Police arrest the husband and his family and as per evidence act section 113B, husband and his family are presumed guilty. So they have to prove their innocence and not other way around.
And this dowry custom can be easily stopped if people giving dowry are also arrested and jailed as it's a crime under dp act. But it doesn't happen in reality.
Also, conviction rate in dowry harassment law 498a is merely 5-6%, and supreme court had termed it legal terrorism in 2008. But nothing has been done to curb it's misuse. Even f**king Bangladesh added misuse clause in their dowry law in 2015 when they found that it's an easy tool fot extortion. Just a simple Google search of most misused law in India will give you the results.
I completely blame society for this. If laws are created based on emotions instead of using checks and balances, they are going to be misused. Almost every martial dispute is nowadays turned into criminal case and then the cases continue endlessly. 498a is like a huge industry, probably one of the biggest and most lucrative in India. At least since 2014 arrests are somewhat reduced, before that it was nightmare. Even 6 month old babies were named in dowry harassment complaints and people had to take bail
You can watch martyrs of Marriage documentary on YouTube (though that documentary itself is source of controversy as the maker was threatened of legal action by some participants and got their footages removed)
