    so because other games also have bad design, it's okay for this one? and how conveniently you forget about skyrim in your list . there's an open world game that lets you save anywhere. ideally, that's how it should be but if you must implement checkpoints, at least let game state be saved at checkpoints. and hey, this wouldn't even be such a big problem if the player didn't have to keep repeating missions because of glitches that you couldn't test out.

     

    Agreed. I am waiting for a day when there are open world mid mission saves. I fear for electricity to go off when I am mid mission in GTA EFLC. That Helicoptor mission in TBOGT was really frustrating, I destroyed two boats and BAM, power outage for 2 minutes. I didn't play EFLC for a month after that.

    how can developers get such basic things wrong in a 2011 game?

     

    Its by Violition, they aren't a AAA game developer. Skyrim has even major bugs.

    Well I cant think of any open world game that saves mid mission. You have check points to respawn, but they are not counted as saves. Infamous 2, RDR, GTA EFLC etc all have mid mission checkpoints, but they are not save games.

    game looks dated as hell though. like a 5 year old game would... probably the worst looking open world in quite some time.

     

    Yeah, but still its much better than Saints Row 2, which was slightly better looking than San Andreas.

    Also, it runs like crap, almost same as SR2 on my laptop, getting 10-15 fps on lowest settings irrespective of resolution on my laptop (in outdoor areas only, indoors its 30+ fps). GTA 4 runs at high settings at 20-30 fps at 1366x768. Not saying its a bad port, ok maybe it is, but my laptop is very old.

    Wait I thought that the size increased with the time of gameplay. Suppose I create a new save file after every 2-3 hours of gameplay, the size wont be as big? Because what I read is that problem arises after 25-30 hrs of gameplay, and that too because it makes the file larger?
