M&M looks to come down to my entry levels, will add if it goes between 745-750

They could even add a filter in matchmaking for controllers only if that's the concern.

You're taking one statement out of context and blowing out of proportion. I was talking about the numbers game in relevance with Sony. MS don't care about losing to Sony, their business model has changed and their focus is different. Their entire ecosystem and 'as a service' model is their main revenue driver. Their acquisitions, future plans are all focused on making Game pass a lucrative option and make it platform agnostic. Comparing only h/w sales figures between Sony and MS is like comparing apples to oranges - this was the point I was trying to make Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk -
I wonder why no cross-platform this gen again. I had to download the PS4 version of the game as on the PS5 I kept matching up with South Asian pros with uber pro teams. Now at least losing to fellow Indians with uber pro teams

Like I said, MS have other avenues to bring in subscription. It was clear that they didn't want to go head to head with Sony in terms of pure numbers. They introduced a more accessible console like the XSS to get more subscriptions. They want to get xCloud on Android/iOS devices which will be another avenue for them to increase subscriptions. Their end game is not hardware, its subscriptions. GPU might not be popular with PC users yet and MS will need to tweak their strategy there. But overall, they are trying to build an ecosystem with Xbox Gamepass which won't have only the consoles as the driving factor. -

I have my doubts if the Deck will be able to work with Windows tbh. Its supposed to work, but there will be some caveats and may affect performance. We'll have to wait and see -

Consoles are typically sold at a loss in the early stages. They become profit making assets later down the line as chip manufacturing becomes more efficient etc. As for Gamepass on PC, their studio acquisitions and Day 1 GPU games are gearing towards increasing that install base. Soon they might add xCloud to GPU to increase the reach -

Again, you're missing the point. The hardware sales do not matter to MS. They will very well by in the 2x/3x in favour of Sony. MS want you to get into their ecosystem, and their consoles are only some of the vehicles to enable that, not the only ones. Many of my friends are considering getting the XSS, just to take advantage of GPU, friends who have been Sony only people or 2-3 generations and already own the PS4/5. That itself shows that their business model is working, it might not be as successful yet, but that's the roadmap. -
Take a break from platting the game and Dunzo it to me

Most of the PS3 sales were towards the end of the lifecycle, you can apply the same logic to PS5/XSX/XSS, we don't know what's going to happen (unliklely MS will come on top in numbers, but the same could have been said about the PS3 - Sony's 1st party games boosted the sales towards the late and end stages of the gen life cycle) But the early and mid days, the 360 was way more popular, in spite of the RROD debacle. But that was not the point I was trying to make. They want subscriptions and to achieve that, they will keep adding value to GP/GPU, making it more and more lucrative. Hopefully that makes Sony improve the PS+ and in the end the consumer wins. Personally I don't care who's beating whom as long as I'm getting good returns from my investments -

MS has changed their business model. They are not banking on the console hardware sales. For them 'Xbox Gaming' is an ecosystem. They are focused on increasing their GP/GPU subscription regardless of the underlying platform. The 360 beat the PS3 in numbers because Sony tripped. Last gen would have been a fair playing field, but the xbox launch debacle hamstrung them and Sony ran away with it. This gen, both consoles are comparable, but Sony has entered into it with a massive advantage from the last gen. MS know they can't beat Sony in the numbers game, hence the value proposition of the Gamepass (esp with 3 years stacking). With studio acquisitions, they are slowly trying to tip the 'exclusivity' scales. Having Bethesda, Oblivion etc churning out 1st party IPs and taking franchises like Elder Scrolls, Fallout etc out of the competitive platform will slowly chip away at the numbers (though it might not be enough to beat Sony). This, along with offering all their 1st Party games as Day 1 games is all geared towards increasing their install base. They don't care if you're on the XSX/XSS/Windows/xCloud. As long as you're in their ecosystem and subscribed to GP/GPU, they are happy. In short, looking only at hardware sales is also a form of tunnel vision. Because MS is not really playing that game, they know they can't win it. At least not in the near future.. -

Ascent is looking great! I really hope it turns out well. Looking forward to Flight Sim, Hades & Back 4 Blood as well. After finishing Demon Souls, was looking for a decent co-op game, hope Ascent provides that! -

People are paying millions, at the same time there is heavy criticism laid out for not having a game worth full price on a yearly basis. It is the goose that Lays their golden egg, but if this goes on, they might be murdering. A subscription based model can offset the one time 5k for players and spreads it over a year and could keep their overall fiscals intact. And more than the actual game, EA mints on microstransactions, which is a steady source of income and profits for them over the year. It was more of wishful thinking than anything else. You don't need to grind coins now imo, if you play divisions, it's easy to get 40-50k every week. If you play Weekend League, that adds another 30-40k and pack luck can take it further Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Nah.. No equivalent mode for FUT in PES. And FUT is what I exclusively play Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

I know, its too much to hope for EA being pro consumer. And people like me will keep spending full price... Its a game I play almost daily... Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Fifa should just go ful live service and stop charging full game prices annually. I play a decent amount of FUT and usually go for the Ultimate Edition just so I don't have to buy the contracts and get some fodder from the packs. I read somewhere instead of the weekly packs, they will now be offering 4600 Fifa points, which is great. That way at least I can chose to buy the packs when there are good promo packs. But paying the full price for the game every year definitely hurts... Atleast for me, from FUT perspective, the year on year improvements have never been worth the money... But FUT is my go to game and the most played by far.... So unfortunately, this is pre-order for me...

No, only for the TV, consoles & router. But the UPS batteries died very quickly in my case. Had picked up 1KVA UPS each time. My inverter also is right now only connecting the same. I guess the UPS issues began after I upgraded from the PS4 to the Pro. The Jet engine pretty much tripped the UPS anytime there was a power cut and I was playing.
-
I would advise to go with an inverter. I had the exact same problem, the building back up took 3-5 seconds to kick in and it shut off all my appliances. I went through 3 UPS as in 2 years as their battery life degraded and it would trip all my appliances. I'm using an inverter for almost 3 years now with no issues. You just need to call them once a year to check on the battery and general maintenance. The inverter is setup in 'UPS' mode and only my TV, PS5/XSX & router is connected to it.

Man... I've been waiting for HDFC to sort their sh*t out... Currently only use the Amazon Pay ICICI card. Used to benefit a lot pre-pandemic times as I used it for all my international hotel bookings and spends when on business travels. Will start using all the credit card hacks as soon has I get the HDFC Regalia and move on from there....

Will give it a shot, number laga toh laga.

Anyone planning on subscribing to the Zomato IPO? They will be quite cash rich after the IPO. With Amazon not really gaining much traction, Swiggy is their only real competitor
