    You don't discount these vaccine attempts just by looking at them. At one time Polio Oral vaccine was a dream and considered to be a hoax.

    mRNA was considered a dead end till Corona came by. Covaxin and Sputnik were considered to be memes as well.

    Look into the science. University of Birmingham etc have done quite good work over the alternative dispersal methods for vaccine. 

    So any of such attempts should be encouraged if they are following correct regulations and not termed as a joke directly.

     

     

    Ofcourse. However looking at the failure rates of some vaccines that are being administered presently, I would take newer modes of drug delivery with a pinch of salt. 

     

    The oral polio vaccine you are reffering to came after 70 odd years of cumulative research via other delivery methods. 

     

     

    Right now, my hopes are pinned on single shot j n j vaccine.

    Sputnik: May-June Approval

    Zycov: July-Aug Approval

    Novavax: Sept Approval

    J&J (if all goes well): Sept-Oct Approval

    Bharat Nasal Spray Vaccine: Nov-Dec Approval

     

    Third booster for Covidshield and Covaxin are currently in trials as well, it is specifically for the new variants.

    Exactly. Even when corona was supposedly defeated, Pune city was getting 300-400 cases daily, which meant 30k new cases at least per month. Still people thought cases were low. They have no concept of addition. 

     

    I think deaths have been misreported as well, as the general mortality in india is so high.

    Govt. doesn't want to vaccinate everyone just for the heck of it, we have sh*t ton of vaccines just to take a bath in.

    The fact that vaccination isn't open for everyone and the manufacturers are saying that they can't meet demand isn't evidence, it's propaganda.

    And how can we forget that we can sue SII and BB for billions if we get a fever from the vaccine. How else will common man make money otherwise?

    Everything else is a hoax.

    Strangely, this same set of people are asking for opening vaccines for all 18+, If we don’t have scarcity, we will have for sure.

     

     

    That's why they want other manufacturers to launch their vaccines in india. 

     

     

    Ps- govt is actually encouraging monopoly by restricting us to two vaccines only.

    We are totally covered with Covaxin and covishield, I don’t understand why do we have to go out of way for Pfizer. Give them emergency use approval and then run into issues.

     

    Though this issue is different, but, the indo us civil nuclear deal (123 agreement) has similar clauses built into it i.e there can't be any lawsuits in case something goes "wrong" in the nuclear reactors. Yet the govt is hellbent on going forward with the Westinghouse AP 1000. 

     

    Look people want to get vaccinated. Looking at the scale of population, more vaccines are needed. Hence people want vaccines from other companies. However, it'll hit the atmanirbhar vaccine manufacturer of the world image if the govt allows foreign vaccines to innoculate indian citizens.
