Nope. You are wrong. 1800p is around 85% of 2160p aka 4k. I use it as a custom resolution while gaming on my PC connected to 4k TV. Pasting from PC guide: 1800p (3200x1800) has roughly 85% of 4K’s resolution (and ergo performance requirement) while achieving quality close enough that most can’t tell the difference, at least on a display with proper scaling.

1800p is almost 80% of 4k. 30fps at 4k vs 60fps at 1800p doesnt make sense either.

I agree. With Twitch and other streaming services gaining more popularity, there is insane value in delivering content via cloud immediately. Stadia was too forward looking. Won't be surprised if the entire gaming landscape changes in the next decade. I still don't think consoles would become obsolete, but the cloud strategy will probably expand the market to capture people who might be okay shelling out 60-70$ for games but not 500$ for a console.

It's gonna be years before the subscription service turns a profit. I work for an enterprise SaaS company and even if we do make record profits, the books wont show. Cos the management will reinvest it to grow. With subscription models, unless you saturate the market, growth is all that matters. Even *if* the Xbox division becomes profitable, MS will use the money to acquire new studios or do something to retain the subscription base. Whether it converges in the long run, I don't know. But this model is here to stay for quite some time.

It's for the games that I never had time to play during the PS4/Xbone era. Or the indies that I play now? How does that even matter? For critics who neither own the console, nor know the value of time, it's kind of hard to explain the value proposition. Maybe, one day they'll get there.

I ve seen my quick resume suspensions killed if my console got updated over night. Not 100% sure if its a thing.

Totally agree. I am in the same boat. These days I consider buying a game on Xbox as against Steam (even if the Xbox version is costlier) simply because of Quick Resume. I uninstalled my Steam version of Hades and planning to start the Game Pass version for the same reason.

There are people here like me, @Vamos and maybe others (Shantz) who have both the consoles and swear Quick Resume is truly next gen having experienced it first hand. It is not the same as a process suspend and resume on PC. And then there are armchair critics whose only source of info is twitter/youtube claiming otherwise and bullshitting non stop. Such bakwaas.

It should work as long as your console didnt get auto updated.

My PC currently has a Samsung Evo 860 SATA SSD. Planning to switch to a gen3/gen4 NVMe soon. Any clue on whether I can clone the SSD to the new drive? I don't want to reformat and reinstall everything from scratch.

TLDW - SN750SE with a read speed of 3500 Mbps performs as good as the SN850 (8000 Mbps) while playing games. Right now, the only place where there is any noticeable difference is in copying games from internal to extended storage where the lack of DRAM on SN750SE results in extremely crappy performance. Not sure what future holds, but even slower specced nVMe drives seem to work fine in PS5 (the PS5 benchmark surprisingly gives comparable read speeds for both the drives - well over 5000 Mbps).

Or get it on EGS I really wanna play it on the PS5 though. PC's HDR implementation is sucky at best.

PS4 is long gone. I switched from that PS4, bough a pro, sold it. Bought another pro, sold it. Now on to the PS5 ? Not been a PS plus user for ages. Wonder if Sony has retained my old save in the cloud.
