But the way he is saying would make anyone believe that GoW (even though same PS4 app )would have to convert save file to be compatible while running on PS5

which is not the case & one of the thing I pointed out.

Also pointing out that yes ,regional saves are a long running issue with the PS platform

Fair enough, but I think he just got it confused. If you buy a used game disc from say CeX, there's no easy way to know which version your disc belongs to. I ran into the same problem with my Shadow of Mordor playthrough on PS4 ages back. I finished the game and sold it off. Bought it months back to get Plat, but got a different region one by mistake. I didn't know the region of my first playthrough (still don't to this day).

    No one is defending it

it’s just that he is mixing two very different issues with the same platform to spread his usual FUD

Which needs to be cleared so that others don’t get confused & thinking that each issue applies to the other

?? & then their is “support” too

so it’s important to clear things up for the uninformed

Haan, but both are issues right? The lack of interoperability of saves across regions? As well as the inability to easily migrate save from PS4 to PS5?

Wtf man ? Every day you and radicle have to post something to take a dig at Xbox.

Honestly, this thread is active only because of the two of you, but don't you seriously get bored posting 50 different shades of the same news everyday? I mean, it takes some level of dedication to do this. I remember the times when Zodka used to do something similar for Xbox, but these days you and radicle have become a dangeous duo of sorts.

Liking each other's posts, upvoting each other without fail, always there to support the other. Such dedication man. Half the guys here would wish they get partners as supportive as you've been to each other. Couple goals ❤️

I might be in the minority here but a PC takes quite a bit of space as well. For someone who just wants to game, XSX + PS5 on your TV Console and a laptop for the rest of the needs is a great setup.

Obviously, doesn't include people who want to play at max settings.

You can go for an ITX build to reduce the footprint. There are ways to building a small PC that can roughly match the footprint of a PS5 and still be way more powerful. But you'll have to shell a decent amount on cooling and the right case. I am not a big fan of laptops for gaming because of thermal constraints, throttling and non upgradeability of parts.

With Steam's big picture mode, it's fairly easy to play on the big screen. Not as intuitive as consoles, but it's getting there. PC navigation only using gamepad would be a god-send for living room setups.

If someone is being very practical, a single ps5 is the only machine you need for gaming. It has arguably almost everything that a gamer could ask

By that logic, a PC is the only gaming machine that you'd ever need. It's your preference, and others have their own. This is just baiting.

Yes true. A decent GPU that will last 4 years will cost atleast 70-80k if not more. Add to that the cost of additional setup lile cpu mobo etc and we are looking at close to 1L +.

Totally. Both XSX and PS5 make more sense now than they ever did in the past. You are looking at a Ryzen 3600 + RTX 2060/2070 combination if you want to match the console specs and these two alone will easily set you back by 70-80k.

It checks out, if you have a PC & a PS5 then it doesn't really make sense to own an xbox, unless it's specifically for the convenience. The MS first party games will come to PC anyway.

Was in the same boat last year, if I had even one use case scenario where I would have needed a pc for beyond just gaming then I would have gone with it rather than the Series X.

Until the GPU prices stabilize, PC is out of the realm of possibility for most people. Even worse than the current shortages for consoles. I can still sell my 2 year old graphics card for the price that I bought if for if not more right now.

I used to do the same when gaming on PC. However, for Xbox one controller, I always went with the wired solution. 3rd party bluetooth pairing was shite on the PC and I was not going to put down more dough for that stupid MS wireless receiver. Hope you have already tested the Series X's wireless capabilities and if it works well, then Eneloop is the way to go. Else, I'd stick with wired and just get a regular full length USB cable to avoid any lags/disconnection. Also, I believe the controller needs to be connected via USB if you need to make any profile changes/firmware update via Xbox App (customer button mapping etc.).

The xbox controller works fine with a 500 bucks TP link adapter I got off Amazon. I had to use a usb extension cable and ensure that it was on the TV table. As long as the dongle is on my line of sight, it works fine.

Plugging it to the side/top/front of your PC cabinet will definitely lead to issues if you keep your desktop tucked in somwehere.

Borderlands 2 is a different game in co-op. I wouldn't play it solo at all.

Also, just started Prey. Starting is just amazing. Atmosphere, music, gameplay everything come together so well.

I am surprised how good it's feeling so far.

I agree. I wish I had started it on PC with the mods. But XSX is easier to jump into because of Quick Resume.

The DLCs are great and you'll be introduced to your first ever raid boss challenge at the end of General Knoxx's DLC, which should not be attempted in solo. I'd say go for it.

Borderlands 2 is the best if the series and loved all it's DLCs. That's the game which will bombard you with content. If you enjoyed the first game, multiply that x10 and that's Borderlands 2 for you. ;)

Damn. I am going to find it difficult to find someone to co-op Borderlands on PC :( Thanks for sharing!

  10. Finished Borderlands 1 last week. Did a solo run, really enjoyed the gunplay but the world felt really empty by today's standards. Yet to do the DLC. Not sure whether I'll get to it or jump on to Borderlands 2.

Also finished It Takes Two with wifey. This game is special ❤️

Got GamePass Ultimate and started Prey. 2 hours in and the game's atmosphere is bollocks. Reminds me of Bioshock. And planning to resume my 97 hour save of Witcher 3 and hopefully finish the main story this time around ?

Even that wasn’t the real reason

an announced version could have been easily canceled

It was a kickstarter funded project prior to acquisition & they had already pre-sold/booked PS4 version from ppl

They just couldn’t have canceled that version after taking money for it

That's exactly what I meant. The game was announced for PS4 prior to acquisition and they can't go back on a lead platform after being funded.

PS5 - dont see that happening.

Faulty business decisions led to the commercial failure of such an amazing title and series.

I hope they launch physical versions (and a native ps5 port) soon.

Why would they launch a native PS5 port now? They are freaking acquired by MS :wallbash:

They released the PS4 version because they announced the game prior to the acquisition.

This might become a big problem for the industry going forward.

No sales== dev costs don't get r ecouped== no new aa/aaa single player games== more mp content (cheaper)

reason, we might not see psychonauts 3 :(

Doesn't MS own the Psychonauts IP and DoubleFine? How does it even matter?

I am not a big fan of games as a subscription model myself. But the monetization debate is inconclusive at best since it's more a matter of how the game developers/publishers get paid for putting things day1 on gamepass vs how many copies it would have sold otherwise.

Actually, Tom's Guide is lamenting that kotor is a ps5 console exclusive.

Not the person you have quoted.

Ps- I have more to say on this topic, but I guess this thread is not meant for that.

The whole internet has become a click bait

Though M$ is the foremost company to lock established franchises from other platforms onto their own

Funny that ppl write such articles only when Sony retaliates:-

Do you guys even read the articles before baiting here?

    Salty much?

Did you even read the article? He's calling out that exclusivity of established franchises is not right - including the possibility of Elder Scrolls VI being an Xbox exclusive. It's not a Sony specific debate.

    Quote

Unfortunately this shady practise isn’t likely to end anytime soon. In fact, if reports are true, PlayStation gamers may end up on the other side of a similar scenario when The Elder Scrolls 6 launches. Because Microsoft owns Bethesda, developer of the Elder Scrolls franchise, there’s a very real chance it might skip the PS5 altogether.

Which is probably worse than the KOTOR debacle long term. The KOTOR remake is only a PS5 exclusive at launch, and may well arrive on Xbox eventually. Elder Scrolls 6, if the speculation is to be believed, will have no such luck.

Let’s just hope that the console restock situation changes between now and release day. Neither title has a confirmed release date right now, and things could easily change by then. But that doesn’t really change the fact that some very high profile titles are locked away on different platforms. And it doesn’t matter which platform it is, that’s not OK.

People are acting as if it's the fist time a company is doing this.

    This is a racing "simulator" Screenshot_20210912-211038058 (1).jpgScreenshot_20210912-211142448 (1).jpg

But Flight Simulator did not mandate it. The question is whether internet connection is required for offline play in GT7. If yes, then your comparison is absurd. You can play flight simulator in offline mode (with reduced texture detail etc, but its possible).

Don't shoehorn MS vs Sony argument where it doesnt apply man ?
