I agree with your point that with limited time, Gamepass becomes a lot less attractive. But disagree with the quality part. There are tons of great titles albeit slightly old ones. When you factor EA pass, it becomes a hella a lot better.

Just to add one more crucial differentiator. Persona demands that you build social bonds with other NPCs in the game. This high school sim part is what makes is stand out and endears it to most folks. AFAIK, Shin Megami Tensei games lack this component and are relatively more straight-forward in comparison.

LG OLEDs do 120Hz at 4HDR with VRR. I think even the Samsung Frame does. You don't need to shell out 2.5L or so to get a TV that supports 120Hz. Half of it would do ?

If you have the budget for it, a PC is better anyday. A 3070 rig will easily set you back by 1.2L or so. It depends on how badly you want the PC and what you are going to use it for. If you do get the PC, you can skip the XSX and go for the PS5.

3070 should be better, honestly. Assuming you have a good rig with an NVMe SSD and a recent CPU. If not, XSX is a good middle ground if you want to play old titles as well as future multi platform games. Gamepass reduces the cost barrier significantly if you play a lot of gamss. PS5 anyday if you care more about Sony exclusives from PS4 gen onwards. But if you are going to build a rig from scratch, then just get both the XSX and PS5 ?

I have two ACs at home. Most of the times its only me and wife who are around. The second AC is mostly for guests. We normally get electricity bill of 2k without AC usage. With one AC it goes up to 4kish. Lets extrapolate this and say I regularly use the second AC as well. Cost will be around 6-7k. Third AC in the living room meand it spikes up to 8-9k. See the difference? I have an XSX, OLED and a gaming PC. Recurring electricity expense of 5k or more does bother me. Does that answer your question?

While I am not a big fan of subscription based model myself and prefer owning games, the argument that only day 1 games would attract people to subscribe is faulty IMO. There are tons of gamers out there who may be okay with waiting for a couple of months if they know that the game would eventually come to gamepass. Also, I think you are confusing a model like gamepass with games as a service (like what Rockstar seems to be doing with GTA/RDR online and what EA is doing with FIFA). Gamepass is just a subscription model where you can play whatever games you want. While it may be true that games don't release necessarily on Day1, I feel they don't need to. Personally I don't binge watch serials on Amazon Prime/Netflix and prefer getting to them when I have time. Why can't I do the same with games? And it gives me a huge library to try out games.

Does the logic hold true for all the backwards compatibility enhancements that MS did for X1X? Like playing the original RDR, Gears 2 & 3 at 4k with improved texture filtering? Whatever you have to say regarding MS, they went over and beyond to make old games look better on their console. It's a pity that we have to shell out extra to get the same for Bloodborne, one of the best games on PlayStation. And frankly, high res textures, improved lightning and 60fps do not warrant full price. Wherever your allegiance lies, doesn't make sense to support shitty practices.

This is exactly the kind of thought that is encouraging companies to milk franchises dry with remakes/remasters. Doesnt matter if it is Sony, MS, Ninty or EA. Why the bloody hell would you charge full price for something that can mostly be achieved via a patch? Worst case they should make it a DLC of sorts to upgrade rather than pay full price

Moved the PC to the living room since wifey's been complaining about the monitor screen being too small to play Overcooked 2. Connected the TV to my C9 and booted up Witcher 3 (after a couple of rounds of Overcooked 2 ofc). I normally run at 1440p ultra north of 80fps on the monitor. Tried 4k with the TV, and saw the framerate drop to 50s. Then switched back to 1440p just to check the difference. There was barely any tbh. If the upscaling is this good, I might as well just use the TV and game at 1440p. Anyone else noticed this?
