A nice initiative. And an even better PR stunt. You know what would have been better? Giving a directive to hospitals (private) to not cut the salary of doctors and other health workers. My brother is a doctor and he got a 40% pay cut last month. Or probably use the money spent on actual things like better PPE suits for doctors.

You do realize that FF7 Remake had a physical release right? And a lot of people brought it and are still buying it in a lot of places (Namely: USA) which are major markets + where people are flouting Lockdown norms (or there is no lockdown in the first place). FF7R wa so successful physically that it was going out of stock with retailers the world over, despite COVID.

The thing is (And this is my guess), for those games (FF7R, P5R etc.), the stock was already in place. Game was slated to be released in April beginning, so Blu-Rays should have been done by Feb end and shipped out to retailers. TLOU2 might not have reached this stage at all. Hence they couldn't replicate it as COVID norms became tighter.

Also, forget about FF7 being the most successful game. It's not even the fastest selling FF game. FF15 sold 5 million on it's first day (Unlike the 3.5 million of FF7).

    https://www.tweaktown.com/news/71952/final-fantasy-7-remake-is-huge-success-with-3-5-million-sales/index.html

Consider this - Sony releases a console that is digital only. In other words, dedicated game sellers cannot sell physical games at all. Why would they even be in business? Those sellers will just switch over to other electronics. This will affect all sellers and 3rd parties

It's not a question of clout. Majority of sales does not happen to dedicated "Gamers" , and over here, the physical sellers can subtly influence the sales. For example, millions buy PS4s just to play FIFA with friends. These are not pure "Gamers", just casuals who don't care about exclusives - but don't want to play on PC and just play with a controller.  Same with GTA. And that's where the majority of console sales come from in the first place.

Well, over here the retailers can just promote the XBOX to them, maybe even keep better deals. They can also keep very less stock of PS5s, so all who have a habit of gaming on PS, will switch over to Xbox for example. That is screwing over Sony in a major way.

Also, with games becoming larger and larger in size and with both PS5 and Xbox Series X fast SSD likely to be expensive and short on capacity, I guess physical games might make more sense in the next generation. How likely are you to buy a new SSD/HDD only to dump your digital downloads when you can buy a physical game that you can install, play, delete and re-install whenever you want?

The alternative would be to have exclusive HDD/SSD only to act as a game dump. Or re-download 100/200 GB game every time you want.

    Even Gujarat is worrying.

the only good thing there is people are cooperating with healthcare workers.

they would soon get it under control like TN.

RJ is slipping too, Jaipur cluster is too big.

MP is dice-roll, recent report said people in cluster  have started treating themselves. I know it’s too funny.

My brother is a doctor in TN and he told me that test results are being deliberately delayed. The government is ensuring necessary steps are taken before announcing numbers (initiating lockdown or preparing contingency plans for quarantine). But the truth is that the govt knows there are more folks affected than the what they care to tell us (for right or wrong reasons is up for debate). This isn't gonna go away. Once the lockdown is relaxed is when things might start getting scarier.

Lemme guess, you're talking about Frostclaws and Fireclaws, I remember getting my a*s handed over by them (Had started the dlc thinking I'm overpowered and invincible) :P

Yeah, you are right. Although, you don't encounter Fireclaws until you are towards the end of the game, they were pretty difficult to beat for someone at Level 60 :|

The first two monsters on entering the Cut (Scorcher and Frostclaw) set the expectation for the DLC.

There are difficultly achievements added in this game, right? I'll be playing again on PC, tho I've got the platinum on ps4 I'm excited to play again on PC but this time on highest difficulty.

You are right. They patched New Game + later, so you have a bronze and silver trophies for starting a new Game+ / finishing the game on Ultra Hard. These show up as a DLC in the HZD trophy profile. The base Plat is not tied to difficulty and I am all the more glad for that.  I hate it when a game forces me to replay it for the sake of a plat.

  5. Finished the Frozen Wilds expansion for HZD (100%). Whooped my a** quite a few times even though I was well ahead of the 50 level cap and had finished the main story line earlier (with the best weapons and the armor the game had to offer). Can't believe Guerilla managed to make the game look even more gorgeous. I wish I had a 10 bit HDR capable panel to experience the visuals, but they still looked so darn good on my Mi TV's 4K 8bit panel. The voice acting and animations (cutscenes) were much better than the original game. The story was so-so in my opinion. While it was initially interesting, it didn't come close to the original's main story. The side-quests were much better, though.

Total playtime for about 85+ hours for the main story and expansion (Platinum) on Normal difficulty.

Had a blast playing it :D Want to sell the game now, but with the lockdown in place, it will have to wait I guess :P

Now on to Witcher 1 (most probably) on PC. Or Spiderman/Shadow of the Colossus on PS4. Yet to make up my mind.

You will be looking at banks crashing then.

There'll obviously have to be government support and aid for this to happen. Pumping money to corporates and allowing them to default ensures that job opportunities are not lost. But here, we are talking about people's livelihood and the potential to wipe out their life savings. All that I am saying is there needs to be a balance. You can't just deal in macro-economy and expect the benefits to trickle down every time. Especially in our country where the law and tax system is open to interpretation of the super-rich who take most of the benefits and don't allow it to trickle down.

I agree, and we should figure that out first.

Beyond food for those under poverty line, I think the biggest issue with the middle class would be the ability to pay back loans. If the govt and RBI simply go ahead and say people can default on loans for 3 months without the need to pay interest that would make lives of so many people easier.

1500$ for anyone living in Bay Area are like 1500Rs in Mumbai.

Jan-Dhan xfers will take care of problems for folks live around poverty line upto an extent only, but also the truth is we cannot afford much either.

After this there will be another big chunk which has to be pumped in economy and that is more important.

This is an overstatement to the nth degree. 1500$ is actually a pretty big amount. Bay area has folks other than middle those working in IT.

Middle class income in Bay Area can range from 50k USD upward. It will really help those with blue collar jobs.

Just saw some videos that these “migrant labours” were found without any luggage, and A lot of them had sticks with them.

is this news true or some fake videos Floating around? Some party playing petty politics by putting the life of these people on the line or just misinformation.

very difficult to trust videos/news specially post lockdown.

If it's not authentic, then don't share it. Even here. What's the point of dragging people's opinions out? Will just lead to more conspiracy theories which we really don't need now.

  10. The banks are basically telling folks that you can default without taking a hit to your credit score. They are not doing anyone favours with this move. Total d*ick move by RBI, and won't help folks who need it the most. The people who are earning now will continue to do so and pay the EMIs without any issues.

  11. I am getting a feeling that a lot of the recent posts here regarding Corona are taking a religious hue. That's something that I definitely don't want to see from IVG. While I am not going to question the stupidity of not wanting to test for Corona or the fact that folks stayed put even after the meeting, do we really have first-hand information (beyond selective tweets/info from media outlets like Times Now which are downright right leaning) about why they had to stay? It's easy to jump to conclusions without even attempting to understand what's going on. We have enough trolls in social media and I'd loath for IVG to be a place dominated by religious sentiments/bias instead of good ol' fashioned logic. I am saying this because it's likely that these poor folks who got infected just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Imagine if the reaction would be similar if the Kumbhmela happened at the same time as the outbreak?

Mods, please ensure that we stick to facts instead of opinions.

Actually we never had Nier Replicant at all. What we had was Nier Gestalt, which was made specifically for the Xbox 360 in Japan and both the PS3 and 360 in the West (The one where MC - Nier was an old man and the relationship was father and daughter). Replicant was exclusive to PS3, and released only in Japan (Japanese 360 version was also Gestalt).

Amyway, chances are - seeing the reception for Automata, they might get Platinum to overhaul the gameplay. In which case - it would be an awesome, true ptequel to Nier Automata.

Is it confirmed that Platinum is making it? I thought some other studio was doing the remake.

Started HZD a few days back. So impressed.

I'm playing Horizon too :) While the gameplay is good, I find the world lacking when compared to the charm and character that BoTW had. And gameplay and open world mechanics being too similar to Ubisoft games.

Despite all the complaints, I'm having fun. The story seems intriguing but is yet to grab me. The character facial animations are crappy and wonky, though. The world, however looks gorgeous!

That's a very very very very very low bar man.

I agree with Walker. While the intention might have genuine, it also leads to idiots (like the ones in the video) assuming that we've already beaten Corona because of the lock-down. That's a dangerous line to toe. And knowing most of our public, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually believe it. Like that 14 hour break killing Corona virus on all surfaces sh*t. Heck, I even heard people (my own parents) talking about the govt using helicopters to sprinkle disinfectant during the lock-down. I don't know how we can get the public to understand the seriousness of this sh*t.

Nice of your employer to give some $$ for a WFH setup.

We bought the same model chair from Ikea two/three years back and returned it after a week because it felt really stiff and flimsy. Maybe they made some revisions to the model, just thought ill share my experience with the chair :)

It's no Herman Miller for sure but pretty good for 200$. I find it comfortable for long durations and this is better than the previous one I had!
