-Whenever that happens, open TCPView & find Steam in the list of processes.
-Right Click, Close Connection.
-Steam will open up a new connection with (probably) a new host.
-Repeat until you get a stable download rate.

A 9600 GT. And I've tried both ports. Haven't changed the cable though. And it's a DVI cable. Unlike the VGA, which is analog, a DVI failure would be complete failure I'd imagine, rather than acting up. what do you think? :|
Check the DVI cable as well as the onboard VGA once you get VGA cable.
