You can always mod a paperwhite to have warm light. Basically pry open the front, take a highlighter and color the leds slightly. CLose it up. Downside is that it isn't adjustable on the fly compared to the oasis, but you can turn off the back light during the day and when you switch it on at night you get the warm/orange glow that's easy on your eyes.

Source: I've done it myself on my 7th gen kindle paperwhite instead of splurging for the Oasis.

Thats the first time I am hearing about this. Sounds like a nice hack [emoji38]

however in 3dss case, the new Nintendo 3ds has more power and a better 3d screen. I think some games are exclusive to the new 3ds as well.

Not a lot of exclusive high profile games except for xenoblade and fire emblem. 99% of games works on old models.

Tbh, doubtful what benefit will an OLED bring to 720p screen ?

There are no hi res textures to work with, there's no HDR. I'm sure the colors will be MUCH more vibrant, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing considering the screen res.

Vita resolution is 576p and there is considerable difference between first gen OLED and second gen LCD. I know because I have both. Switch is doing the reverse as in moving from an LCD to OLED. Even on a 720p it should make a difference or I am expecting it to.

Neither excited nor disappointed. Strictly an expected mid gen refresh, and a decent one at that.

For peeps comparing it to PS5/XSX, just look at the size difference. It's not just the price, you can fit 10 Switches inside a PS5.

Exactly, a decent one. I used to often think while playing on switch that it wud be awesome to have OLED screen on par with first gen vita.

You are not missing much except an upgraded screen but it only interests peeps who are looking for it.

Did you end up buying this TV? If not which one did you choose? I am looking for a 4k tv in this range. As you described for non gaming needs.

If your Kindle has no Backlight, I suggest you go for the new one. These days even mobiles have warm back-light. Kindle Oasis is much easier on the eyes, and the bigger screen genuinely helps a lot. Physical is still the best for eye care purposes, but Kindle Oasis does come 2nd. Anything without the Warm Backlight, you should avoid. Very long reading spells with the Blue Light being bombarded in your face continuously - that's not good at all.

I am fine with my current kindle without backlight. It is pretty easy on your eyes in a well lit room. The reason why i didn't want to buy a paperwhite is because of the reason you mentioned. Let me see if I can demo or borrow an oasis to experience how it is.

Used it for about 2 days now. I also upgraded from a 10-year old Kindle (which had no backlight/touch at all). The Oasis is a pleasure to use and read on.

As far as the massive price difference goes, it depends on you. If you read casually, a book every couple months here and there, you'll be fine with the Paperwhite.

But if you find yourself reading everyday, even for 15-20 minutes, 100% worth getting the Oasis. Plus I read mostly at night before bed, and the warm lighting makes a lot of difference.

Yeah, mine's a Kindle keyboard which doesn't have any sort of backlight. I tried using my sister's paperwhite and it seems fine but it doesn't have any option for warm lighting i think.

So new update,  i called them up again and was on the phone with them for almost half n hr trying to convince them that they messed up and need to put in some effort now. Eventually the higher up said she.ll call me back in a bit.

She just called me back and she gave me 2 options ,

    1) refund of 10k to my amazon pay account.

    2) If by chance it.comes back in stock before 11th July , she.ll raise a request for a replacement.

So i will need to decide on the 11th of July.

Amazon pay account? Can u take that money out? U willing to keep it if they refund 10k right?

I am assuming pay account is different from wallet.

PS3 had a momentum with Exclusive games on it & a large part of those was only possible coz of the cell

so it was give & take end of the day

Exclusives came later which is why PS3 could catch up to 360. In the initial years, 360 was clearly ahead. But yeah, it's give and take because cell made it complicated but that very cell gave us games like UC2.

I think we can safely call ps2 to be the Goat (maybe switch will dethrone it) due to:

well, India wasn't even a drop in the global gaming market at that time. You should have the global perspective and knowledge of global momentum to say whether greatest console or not. PS2 probably was the greatest console afaik

It's subjective but most people might say PS2 given it has sold more than 150M. It sure had a very diverse catalog. I have multiple consoles that I love. PS2 for it's sheer number of games, 3DS for it's unique perspective on 3D, Vita for its screen(OMG , that OLED screen), Switch for it's convenience, X1X for gamepass etc. I honestly can't name my favorite console.

PS3 60 gigs version probably offers one of the best backwards compatibility experiences out there (maybe at par with xsx when it comes to bc). It literally has a ps2 built in.

Ps- my 60 gigs version conked few years back. Im still looking for one. It's so damn rare now. You could play ps2 games from all regions on that.

Yeah, I am on the same boat. My launch PS3 conked in 2013 or 14 and yet to see one on sale anywhere. Even if you could find one, it's a collectors item now so expect to pay a premium for it. Ironically, my PS2 lasted more than that

Did I hear something wrong or did he just say that Xbox 360 will be remembered as the “Greatest console of all times” & it had “Something going for it with games”

I love the X360 because honestly I have used it more than the PS3 in the initial years. There were a lot of games which simply ran better on it. Even with all that, calling it the greatest console of all time is a stretch
