  1. FInally Shield Defeated :paagaldance:

crowd makes so much noise when DB dominating, it feels so good

why dont they involve him in WHC title storyline :wallbash:

World Heavyweight Championship is a joke now, gone those days when it was most important title in wwe and carrying it was such a privilege

Triple h was my fav WHChampion. When he used to walk into the ring in suit and WHChampionship on chest he looked so great. It felt like WHChampionship was made exclusively for triple h

Now wwe title became more important than WHC coz of Cena

RUMOURS suggest Daniel Bryan might be up for a WWE championship run come MITB. He already had a WHC reign once and was impressive. Until that damn WM 28. But yeah don't let your hopes die! He could be in for bigger things over the next few months

  2. Dude it is not as simple as A-B = CRead up on the whole theory behind Duckworth Lewis. It is a theory that sets up a mathematical model of the whole match progression and hence mathematically it gives the most accurate result. It awards you for staying ahead in terms of run rate against your opponent as well as preserving wickets; which is crucial.Don't call it complicated or useless just because you don't know the whole story behind it. I suggest you read up on the thesis first

I think the indian guy who proposed the alternative gave few examples where DL doesn't work.

Yes maybe and I haven't read the alternative theory honestly. There are bound to be exceptions to every theory. Why even hawkeye and hotspot are not accurate.

But my beef was with people who dismiss DL as stupid or complicated or useless or whatever judging just by the matrix of output it provides!

  3. It's not just me, many players, coaches and team management don't understand it right, if you completely understand it then u r a genius my friend. SA could have used u in 2003 WC.

yes they don't understand it because not many may have taken up mathematics as a subject for higher studies. But I understood the theory when I was in school I think. And i don't blame them. their job is to play and not understand mathematics. But they should simply understand that it factors in all the elements of the game into play thereby bringing out the most acceptable and comprehensive model for the chase.

Also SA just f**ked up because they didn't know the difference between the terms 'par' and 'target'

They didn't need a genius. All they needed was common sense

  4. D/L method is very complicated, I agree but the only reason it is still used after all these is that it gives you the most accurate result.

Ghanta accurate, 20 overs reduced and only 60 runs removed from target

Dude it is not as simple as A-B = C

  5. Did Rameez Raja just say that shot could be intentional..

How the fk can you inside edge a ball past the keeper intentionally..

Lol isn't that how they play cricket in Pakistan?

MC BC MKC power shutdown in my area.. Missing out on the match!

  6. I should have worded it properly, there is no deal.

He married girl whos a divorcee and has two daughters from previous marriage. It may sound very ordinary to ppl outside but in India it's a big thing and not so common. And very uncommon for folks who are cricketers or actors. he was a page 3 guy but changed himself completely. One has to be really open minded and ready brace the social challenges when you take such decisions

Also she is a kickboxer who kicks his a*s if he doesn't score runs :P

  7.

holding kept criticising IPL & now he's involved with CPL. so its not ok for others but it's ok for him

Holding has always been against the t20 format in general. He did come to India recently during the IPL because his wife was involved in the tournament but don't think he himself is directly involved. But he does talk about the fact that t20 cricket has helped being good impact players out of the Caribbean. That could be one reason for his involvement now and also some good cash obviously

  8. Yeah I always thought the wickets lost should be factored somehow. And the best method that uses this is the DL method where it takes into account the resources (ie wickets and overs) rather than a simple singular factor.

But fact of the matter is most of the cricketing community doesn't understand the mathematics that go behind the D/L method and hence they support the simple albeit flawed method of NRR.

Even Simon Doul on air said today that probably Gautam Bhimani is the only guy who understands the DL method in the whole crew(just because he was holding the DL sheet in his hand)

And I've read the whole theory behind the DL system and I must admit, it is quite a comprehensive method. The other method that an Indian mathematician has suggested might be better but I haven't read it yet so can't comment.

But whatever is the case, as things stand now, at least the NRR rewards a team on bowling the opposition out. So have to accept it for the lack of alternatives

  9. In hindsight things already look very bleak for OZ. if SL win tomorrow and Oz beat SL, NZ might still go through on account of a heavily superior NRR.

Duncan Fletcher might have a thing or two to say about that though :P

He was complaining yday as to how does NZ have such a superior NRR even though they just scrapped and gnawed their way to victory.. He doesn't know that the NRR system considers the team to have batted 50 overs if they are all out..

  10. Isn't this the part of the year where rain happens?

It rains throughout the year there.. Summer and winter. Just think of all the rain interrupted test matches played in the English summer.

But their weather forecast is pretty accurate as compared to our Met dept! :P

  11. hope this tournament isnt affected by rain. we had to share a CT trophy already coz of it. why do they hold tournaments in countries at times of the year that rain is to be expected (& england is always like that esp. beginning of summer)

Only window available for the tournament. Among all counties only England best suited to hold the tournament. Considering grounds, weather (to some extent)

And English weather is always iffy. But they have excellent drainage systems all across. They don't really have a fixed monsoon season unlike India. So gotta take the good with the bad.

  12. Damn they totally took Warner's case on commentary!

Moody: Despite his misbehaviour on Saturday, Warner's form has been so poor that his place in the side itself is in question.

Simon Doul: Apparently he just nicked the guy he was trying to hit too. So he's woefully out of form

  13. Any 1 with any experiece of cricket should consider immigranting to australia, I am sure there are plenty of spots open now in thr team

Especially if you are a spinner!! :P

How easily that Pakistani guy got Australian citizenship to play for the Ashes!
