  1. Just saw Rayudu dismissal, did Upms suggest Kohli yo take back the appeal?

Otherwise the reaction was totally uncalled. But I have seen Mumbai behaving like this in couple of occasions earlier.

Umpires never offer the suggestion. If an appeal is made, they have to give the decision. Was made clear on commentary in case u missed it.

And kohli never gave the umpire a moment to intervene. As soon as the ball hit the stump, kohli was standing in Rauf's face telling him that his bat was in the air and he is out. Rauf hadn't even signalled to the third umpire till then

  2. Besides being a sportsperson/actor, you gotta get used to this stuff. Actors are openly disgraced sometimes, negative talks on the internet etc are the usual things in any famous person's life.

EDIT: now tell me what happened, the 'cheater' part. I stopped watching after de-villiers.

The Actor-Sportsperson comparison doesn't hold well.Kohli represents our country and here we are questioning his integrity over some trivial incident.

For what he has done for the country he should be accorded some respect. His disappointment at the post match interview is perfectly understandable.

And why are we making a country club comparison here? Everyone is questioning his attitude in general since he IS the future of Indian cricket. If he would have carried himself better and still would have received jeers from the crowd, then the disappointment was justified. And it's only the mob mentality that the word Cheater was thrown at him. Could've been anything else even idiot! What is not important. Why is

  3. Screw Kohli and Gambhir. Rohit Sharma is the future Indian Captain

Sachin was booed only by a certain section of the crowd not the whole stadium

When was Sachin booed in Mumbai and why?

In a test series against England. 2005/6 if m not mistaken. He was going through a painfully dry patch where he was looking nothing like the Sachin anybody knew. He scored some painful 4 runs of thousand deliveries and got out. On his way back a section of the crowd started booing him

And England won the match and tied the series

  4. And yes i agree, Dhoni is one of the best Indian Captain, even though i am not a huge fan of his leave everything to the last moment strategy, he makes a very good indian captain temperament wise

What I've liked about dhoni also is the way he has transformed himself not just on the field but off it through his time as a captain. It's hard to imagine that this same guy was once a flamboyant long brown died hair Chapri.

During the oz series when Bhogle asked him how he has started to become more animated on the field too, he said:

If I don't cultivate a strict culture now in the dressing room with the young lot, they will not carry it ahead and they are going to be the future of Indian cricket in 3-4 years when I am not around. So I try to be more expressive to make them understand their roles.

    Imagine gambhir saying that

  5. And compared to him, Sharma was great today. Excellent bowling changes and attacking field set.

Lol Sharma completely lost it too when he was run out!! :P

Edit: also Sharma has a big think tank supporting him on and off the ground. Their strategy was predetermined and the bowlers executed it perfectly

  6. Ah ok. Even then, in all fairness there should have been a discussion over it. As I mentioned before it was an in your face get the f**k out of here appeal. That was the most disappointing aspect. Don't question his decision. That was his personal choice. But a sense of dignity should have prevailed which was completely missing

Kohli is my fav player, the best player in Indian Squad at this moment. But he is completely idiot captain, his temperament, his behavior makes me believe that he never got out of Captaining the U19 Team mode.

No doubt he is an awesome player man. I actually expected him to be a big threat to Mumbai. But he still needs to learn some basic manners!

The crowd went ballistic chanting 'Cheater' when he walked in to bat, while in the middle, on his way back and at the presentation ceremony :P

  8. And his mannerism in the post match presentation was certainly better than expected but him and Gambhir have a long long way to go before they can think of taking over the captaincy reigns from Dhoni who in my opinion is one of the most dignified captains the country has ever had

  9. The Mumbai crowd has booed Sachin,so this is hardly surprising. The disappointing part is that an Indian player gets called a "cheater" playing in his own country, over a freak run-out in an inconsequential club game.

Sachin was booed only by a certain section of the crowd not the whole stadium

  10. Dhoni has done it

When? If you are referring to the England series, then that does not count. This is why i mentioned live Play, Dhoni had claimed the wicket and only after a long discussion in the break, he decided to let go of the wicket and tht too when it was requested from the opposition.

Ah ok. Even then, in all fairness there should have been a discussion over it. As I mentioned before it was an in your face get the f**k out of here appeal. That was the most disappointing aspect. Don't question his decision. That was his personal choice. But a sense of dignity should have prevailed which was completely missing

  11. Missed all the entertainment. Just came home and it was presentation time and Bhajji's Bhangram. Why's Kohli been boo'ed by the mumbai folk ? Anything stupid he did ala the aussie finger fiasco ?

" IPL's not the end of the world. They're forgetting that I play for India too. " - No sh*t. Goddamn , I must've missed something hillarious

A runout incident where Rayudu's bat got pushed away albeit unintentionally by the bowler's leg when he was covering the stumps off a direct throw by Virat Kohli. Kohli made. Vociferous appeal not giving any consideration to what had transpired. Even after the replay, he didn't call the batsman back.

And that's all the crowd in Mumbai needs! Symonds ko pagal kar diya yeh Kohli kya cheez hain!!

  12. And it's fine that he didn't want to overturn his appeal. But the way he went about his appeal was awful. He was in the umpire's declaring Rayudu out even before the umpire referred it ala Ponting @ Sydney

And what was worse was that the bowler didn't seem to bother explaining that it was unintentional. His first reaction was a f**king High Five

  13. Regarding the run out incident, it was clearly evident that Raydu was in before being put out by kumar. But it is very rare to see a captain calling a player back on live play. AFAIK only Imran khan did it once, and i think i saw saw steve waugh or some other captain do it once.

    Dhoni has done it

  14. Was unintentional but it's good sportsmanship to give due consideration to the incident. But Kohli isn't really one of those. Well, can't complain. Part of the game.

Good total by MI.. Will need a good effort by RCB but if anyone can do it, it's RCB
