Might be not so heavy use and switching between apps . This is what I found out bro

To be fair the S10e was never going to hold up as well as the regular S10 and +. 6GB bs 8GB Ram. And with the mess that android is overall, slowdown is expected. The only good thing Samsung have done lately is improve support for security updates for a wider range of devices and OS updates to a lesser extent.
The S10e was perfectly lined up for a “throw-after-a-year” scenario.

This is wrong. I have been using 5T for 3+ years now and it works as fast it used to work 3 years ago. One UI or Samsung phones like I said, have a habit of slowing down starting from the second year onwards. They just make shitty unoptimized software!

sh*t! You are out of luck then. WTF is this new trend of soldered RAM man! This sucks. I guess good luck finding a 16 GB one. Or wait for M1 but there is no way its gonna be priced decently.

Soldered ram has been around for quite a while. That’s one way they force you to buy new machines. :P

The jump would be akin to 3ds-> new 3ds.

Also it would be stupid to drop compatibility with older switches specially when the install base is 100m +

What’s your take on the grey pricing here? 50k+?

Got mine off eBay in 2018 for 26k.

im going to have a hard time justifying it seeing as I barely touch the switch :nerves:

The shallow depth of field was pretty cool tbh. They used some really old lenses which Snyder wanted to work with. Lots of handheld shot scenes and what not !

Bet Snyder had loads of fun.

Snyder had fun. But that bokeh effect had the wife questioning my oled impulse. It just wasn’t done well and looked shabby. Hard to convince women it’s not the gigabit connection that’s resulting in the blurred image.

Bhai you've to use the same size as the soldered RAM. If I buy the one with 8 gb, max expansion is 16gb. With base 16 gb, max is 32.

    You've haven't used Chrome, have you ?

Edge. Ditched chrome long ago. Sab changa si.

Use 16 as of now. Sell the 8 one or use it somewhere else. Then when the time comes, buy another 16 GB one.

Although, 16 is sufficient as of now IMO.

Yep. MS had claimed and W10 even with the latest updates works fine with 4GB. Whenever the next windows comes out it’s bound to be targeted for 8GB machines as baseline. 16GB is good to have but not absolutely essential unless one uses the machine for productivity or graphics stuff.

But bro not all 8GB laptops have an upgradeable ram slot or even a spare one. Mostly soldered on board.
Better to buy one that has at least one unsoldered slot for future upgrade.

Case in point I have a Dell 7591. 16GB but two ssd and 1 hdd bay that can also take a sata ssd if I want. 1 ram slot soldered. The other free for upgrade.

I have a Asus tuf series and that has a slot, maybe these days the extra slots are rare. Hmm.

Yeah usually the 60-70k ones don’t have a spare slot. My model is from august 2019 and I purposely chose it for this very reason.

I would advice to cut 16GB RAM requirement, there is a scarcity of laptops equipped with pre installed 16 GB of RAM and if there are any, they not cheap. I have tried to find a lot, but usually only 8 GB ones comes under 1 lac price bracket.

You can easily buy an 8/16 GB RAM separately and install it later. Also, despite gaming not the preference, I would advice to buy gaming one only because their screen quality is better or rather I should say the pro/work models have shitty screen quality with shitty colors.

I have a hp probook work laptop given by company and it costs about 1.6 lac, everything is top notch except the screen quality is absolutely dull and has a whitish tint to it which sucks. Thankfully, I bought myself a monitor of my own.

A little reference to Alien (79) in the immortal lines of Ash :

    Guys, need laptop recommendations.

Usage will be for office work, minor gaming (indie stuff from Steam), photo editing and media consumption.

    What I am looking for:

    - At least 16 GB of RAM (or an empty slot to upgrade)

    - At least 512 GB SSD (and upgradeability via M2/SATA - want to use my existing M2 if possible)

    - Excellent screen (preferably 2k, with high DPI3 color gamut and NTSC coverage, good contrast ratio etc. A HRR display will be better)

    - Great typing experience

    Fine with Windows or Mac.

I have used wife's M1 for a bit, and I believe it matches what I want except the storage space. Plus I am looking at a 14 or 15 incher, and 13 will be a tad smaller.

    Options IMO:

    - Wait for the new Pros to be announced (M1x or M2) - but pricing will definitely be insane

    - Asus has the new Ryzen 5xxx laptops - G15 (2021 model) - Fits most use case, but a tad heavy

Any other recommendations or potential launches coming soon ?

Dell brings their refresh lineups usually by August in India. XPS13? That thing is sooooo
