Did. Made no difference as the TV does indeed switch to Black Level Low when HDR kicks in. Hence left the Pro on auto since the downgrade to Low ( YUV420) seems to be triggering as intended. Is this just a limitation of the PC input mode? Meaning it’s unable to handle HDR as well as say Game Mode? Never had the Color banding on game mode until I moved to PC input about a month ago. I can perhaps post a photo tomorrow to give you a better idea of what I’m referring to. From a competitive MP perspective, PC mode absolutely destroys game mode in terms of input lag and all the post processing turned off equally on both modes. So super happy with that. Just this minor annoyance. From what I’ve read, due to limitations of HDMI 2.0 HDR will be in YUV420 on the Pro. Not totally sure how the X handles this as the PQ is flawless on RGB standard on the console and HDMI black on Low on the tv.

thanks mine’s an LG Nanocell SJ800T 2017 model. forgot to mention earlier I do have all post processing turned off. PC mode mostly disables almost any pq processing variables anyways.

@NitroNeo @adity @kunjanp Guys one more thing I want your opinion on since you seem to know a fair bit about displays. Am sure you’re aware of the infamous LG HDR game mode washed out issue. To circumvent this, I recently stopped using game mode and instead renamed the Pro and Series X inputs to PC. The input lag is significantly lesser on this setup. But now on the Pro, there is visible banding (like an oil painting effect) and over-exposed blinding brights. The X surprisingly doesn’t have this issue. For the past month or so, I have managed by lowering the brightness and also tweaking the HDR settings both at Pro and Tv level. But not quite there yet. Here’s how I have it at the moment : Pro : RGB Range = Auto TV : Deep Color enabled for the hdmi port. TV : HDMI black level = Auto (can confirm the tv automatically switches to Low when in HDR and stays on HIGH in SDR) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also on the X, do you recommend PC RGB or Standard? Again Deep Color is enabled on the TV for this port too.

@kunjanp & @NitroNeo does local dimming enabled lead to any input lag? I’m ocd about input lag so asking. Have always had it off on both console inputs. Also on the LG Nanocell side, what’s the recommended setting high medium or low? For gaming and also SDR/HDR/DV watching?

Absolutely bro. Holding out for what the 2021 models bring. In any case, the CX will get me the oled goodness plus 2.1 120fps on all 4 ports. Unless the 2021 models outdo the CX in some manner.
