  1. Gorilla glass is just "harder" to scratch that other glasses.

Like I said before, there's another coating on top of the gorilla glass that can get scratched easily.

Well I used my SGS1 for and then the S2 so far with the screen absolutely pristine. Maybe the S2 glass screen is better than everything else.

  2. :roflroll: :roflroll: :roflroll: :roflroll: :roflroll:

@ the joke of a Cricket thread

Plays a bit like a two bit stand up if yu read properly through the pages

Eh at least some folks here have the two gonads to speak their mind and a brain to back it up. What's your contribution?

  3. The most important thing is Sachin and Dravid need to be fit, they are not youngsters now.Avoiding un-necessary games is the way to go about it.And there is something coaching in the game also jiggy bhai. And giving back to game, really u meant that for sachin

About Australia, see where it is now then.

Playing first class game should be mandatory for Sehwag`s,Yuvraj`s,Bhajji,Yusuf, etc not for Sachin and Dravid. They are different from the pack if u understand what i meant.

Why should rules be different for different individuals? What could a youngster possibly learn from the failure formerly known as Badrinath in first class cricket? That chap has a truckload of runs in first class cricket every season, but everyone and their cat knows he got his a$$ handed out to him at the international level. Same goes for someone like a washed up has been Balaji.

If you were playing first class cricket, wouldn't you rather want to play alongside / against people like dravid, sehwag or Sachin? Imagine the kind of learnings that would filter down to players.

  4. y would he play a Ranji Game :ko: He doesnt need to play such matches, all he needs is a light Net practice to just get the feel of the bat and thats it,he is good to go.

U think people like Dravid and Sachin really need a ranji game to get back to best?

You play first class games as a manner of giving back to the game. To raise the standards of first class cricket. Which in turn results in youngsters who already have a bit of understanding about the top level. Can't believe you didn't know that.

Look at Australia. See how all their stars diligently play shield games.

Players who shy away from local first class cricket are the same ones who happily slog it out in counties stating "I want to improve my game" :giggle:

  5. Totally agree with Jigsaw here. One of the few sensible posters in the Cricket Thread. Sachin is simply a glory hunter who is trying to get his 100th century. He knows he could not do it in West Indies or England and now he is going to cash in on this opportunity. Can't believe how many millions of people Sachin has fooled. He is nothing but a selfish player who wants to improve his record.

People like Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid, Jack Kallis, etc are our real heroes.

You know how badly people here want to lynch you for supporting ponting. :giggle:

But I saw an interesting show a couple of days ago that showed how ponting didn't want to be an automatic selection for a test series. I'm presuming the upcoming one against SA since I started watching the show midway. Ponting, like a true sportsman, chose to play in a shield cricket game to prove his fitness and earned his cap.

Now I hate ponting as much as any non-Aussie does, but that was startling and a pleasant surprise compared to our part of the world where a yuvraj, sachin, gambit and sehwag walk into the test team against WI without absolutely any performance to back them up. Let alone verification of match practice.

Speaks a lot about the feudal system we all want to believe doesn't exist but deep within cannot shake off.

  6. Jiggy bhai show some respect for the great man :slap: Its sachin who u r talking about not a yuvraj or a dhoni :slap:

I know he's great, bro but of late it's just become "All About Him and his 100th 100"

You'd have to agree if he didnt have this monkey on his back, he would actually have been useful to the team much more over the past few months. Opting out of games left, right and centre stating injury and then jumping in all fit at the prospect of a weak team like WI doesn't do him any honours either. Oh and how could I forget this is the same tired fella who opted out of the WI tour citing "rest" but happily took part in the IPL. That shows he was too scared to face the WI in their own den. Now when they are on our soil, suddenly someone is all fit and raring to go.

I bet given a chance he might evade the upcoming Aussie tour too....

  7. It is not scratch proof, there is an oleophobic on top of that glass that is prone to scratching.

I use a cheap screen guard... still looks brilliant.

    OK that made me :roflroll:

Gorilla Glass is MEANT to be scratch resistant. I would have been wrong had I said "shatter" resistant. By using a screenguard and that too a cheap one, you're simply "doing it wrong"

  8. Also, guys using Galaxy S2, do you use Screen Guard? If yes, then which one and at what cost?

Absolutely DON'T BOTHER. The screen is gorilla glass. Mine's just as it was when I bought it. A scratchguard is totally useless for this phone.

  9. Reliance just makes you sign into their service using a regular web page once every 24 hrs, if you don't log out yourself. There would be a LAN wire coming out from the modem which should go into your PC or into any standard issue 802.11 router.

So if you start browsing after a break or after a logout and you open any web page, the login page would open automatically and you can sign in. Works on all browsers, worked on my iPhone and iPad too. I'm don't know what PPPOE is so I can't comment on that.

Alternatively to remove the login page you can ask for a static IP. I did ask for it but they never actually put it and a couple of months later I dc'd the service anyway so did not really get after them.

PPPOE is simply a way to make your dsl modem (or modem-router) remember the login credentials for your ISP and then automatically keep you logged in 24x7. I've never used reliance but am on Airtel dsl and am connected 24x7. Every modem has an option to select pppoe and then it prompts for the login details (this is in the firmware page ).
