If you just do story 10-12 hours, there is a trophy for 4 hour finish so you know it isn't too long but if you want to explore every corner it will eat time as there is lot of back tracking.. hard mode will definitely take more time regardless..

I don't think it was a proper remastered. It was called as HD version or something. A full ground up remake like RE would be awesome for that setting..
