  1. After watching The Wire I don't even want to start a new show. I'm just going through all five seasons again.

I watched half of the first episode and got bored.

^^ 'The Wire' is slow as hell, but as you progress more in the series, the characters and the city grows on you so much, you would start looking up on the internet to know more about the city :P Its one of the best TV shows out there ....

The Wire is by far the best ever crime/drama series I have watched. After completing it, it took me more than 6 months to be able to start off anything else and even today I'm hard pressed to find a show that can match up to even half of what The Wire was. The writing is top notch, and character build up is out of this world.

  2. What is the resolution of your monitor? Your processor is good enough, you should pair it with the any of the x8xx series from ATI or x60 series from Nvidia.

The 6850 / 560 will cost you around 10k. Both are excellent VFM cards.

For a little lesser budget you could try the 6770 / 550 Ti .

If you want to lower the budget then you should opt for some used cards from other forums. You should be able to grab good deals in the 5-6k range. Some excellent old gen cards are the 460 and the 5850.

Pairing your processor with any cards lower than that would most likely cause a GPU bottleneck.

  3. Oh, perfect. Then the rig fits the budget and requirements.

And mobo supports 32GB 1600MHz+ RAM, supports Crossfire GPUs, and upcoming AMD processor family as well. In my experience, a good motherboard is essential. An alternate from Gigabyte is the GA-970A-UD3 (and it's variants), but availability is a bit tough.

  4. @Gaurav : If I was in your shoes (single guy moving from education to a job while in the US), a Mustang would've been the obvious choice. Go for it.

Oh btw, one of my friends (married dude) went to work in the US for a short while. He leased a Mustang for the few months he was there. The newer models look great, but the older models look really classy.

  5. We are as much in a relationship as much you and Athek are, coz you more often than not speak out for him.

Epic, just epic. Keep them coming. Wolfy judged you perfectly, you suffer from "verbal diarrhea".

    g'rav wtf :O

    amazing man

also piper, y u no avoid being butthurt?

It's okay, I'm in a really bad mood today. When we meet, I'll punch you once to even things out and then we'll sit down for a drink  .

  6. yes Ritz sucks too, Punto on the other hand <3

y do people over here have such a bad taste in car? and then go on proudly and boast about it? (on this topic, tBhp have better people)

i don't own a car piper, but when i do, it def. won't be such fugly and shitty one.

common decency? lol yeah right, anything else bud?

When you earn and provide for your family, you have to take into consideration many factors while making a major purchase such as a car. And none of those factors are along the lines of "What will people besides my family think of this". When time and money will allow, I will surely upgrade to a better car.

And nobody posts here to boast of their awesome Ritz or uber amazing i10, people just share pics of their car(s) because they consider other forum goers as a sort of extended family. What next, someone puts up their wedding pic and you start comparing the bride with your fav actress/supermodel? Is that the kind of person you are?

Trolling is one thing, but to be insensitive and proud of being so at the same time is quite another.

  7. i10 is a typical girl's car. Thats why I facepalmed.

Y u no buy something more manly?

This is not the first time you are trashing posts. If you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to the forum, then please log off.

    +1

no man will buy i10, it sucks sh*t!

Pushy, which car do you own? I remember you doing a thumbs down when I put up pics of my Ritz.

Aside from common decency, what else do you both lack?

  8. CPU : AMD Phenom II 970 (7k) or FX 4100 (6k)

    Mobo : ASUS M5A97 (6.5k)

RAM : Corsair Vengeance or GSkill RipjawsX (1.7k for 4GB)

    PSU : Corsair CX430 (2.8k)

    Cabinet : Cooler Master Elite 311 (2k)

    Monitor : Any 22" fullHD (8k onwards)

HDD : Seagate/WD 500GB (3.8k) <-- You didn't specify this, does he already have one?

Components on which expenses can be reduced :

Mobo (if okay with only two memory slots, so 16GB support). But the one I have specified will support upcoming AMD Piledriver processors as well.

Monitor (If full HD not required).

  9. It is still listed for $13.49 on Steam.

Good thing about ordering it on Steam is that from tomorrow you get access to the beta. Apart from that, I prefer the retail version. Saves the waiting time for download.

  10. @Srini : What would be the primary use of this rig at the moment? Because your request for onboard gfx pretty much rules out gaming. So basically, 2 CPU cores should suffice. But do you want to keep the gaming option open for the future? In which case you should opt for more than 2 cores on the CPU.

  11. Yeah man, the forum is for 'me' time. Having your spouse be a regular : I don't know...

And Megz, from a typical forum regular's perspective : you are the only lady regular here, and would eventually get married, but to a guy on the forum... that is punch number 1. The guy is a mod, punch number 2. All of a sudden you go from Megz/Megz behn to Bhabhiji. End of story. Your agony aunt times are over, coz no one will open their heart to you anymore. Unless you can mould MT into an agony uncle :scratchchin:

And Rosh, who is that person you are talking of? Do tell.

  12. Is that PSU power enough to support future graphic cards power needs also??

Yes, it is. 450w-500w would've been sufficient today, but I am planning to upgrade my cpu and next year my gpu (again) so I opted for 620W.
