  1. @LOL: Stick to what HB said. CleaNote is probably the stable-st TW ROM right now. Combined with GL_NoteCore 12 (STD or OC), GNote just flies. If you do decide to flash these, give the kernel some hours to settle. Brilliant performance !

good.gifDownloading! 640 MB ROM! Never downloaded a TW ROM before are all the TW Roms this huge in size?

  2. He is definitely a n00b then. Either he don't know how to update a phone or he is using a completely different phone. And he should've given his phone to Sony service centre, it was common problem when it launched. Luckily my phone didn't have that problem neither did my friend who also have the same phone. Considering its still in warranty, he should give his phone to service centre. There is still time. And I am pretty sure, they'll return his phone with ICS update.

Ok I'll tell him to visit the Sony center...though I thought for that price utna hi RAM milega...:P

  3. dude, WTF are you talking about? I am currently using neo V, it has OFFICIAL ICS and it does not lag. I bought it almost a year ago and have lots of apps, it still works faster than some of the other devices. And it does have secondary camera. Perhaps your friend is not very good at caring of phone (no offence).

Kya bol raha hai?... You won't believe it but it restarts on its own at least twice a day everyday when he's playing asphalt on it... I thought it's a bad phone... Maybe you're too good with the phone :P.... And he said there's no ICS for that phone too :S

  4. My friend's One V also lags man...it does not have official ICS either...so...

Xperia U doesnot lag but neither does it fly...flashing custom ROMS is a tedious task (I could be wrong but I just gave up after I saw that I have to first unlock the bootloader to flash the phone and the XDA community has a single thread for xperia U/Sola and P ROMS)

If you don't like Defy + go for the Xperia U...screen is too small but then again it's as big as the iphone 4 :P

  5. This phone doesn't have a manufacturer warranty -- instead a dealer warranty which I'm not to sure about. Also, Xperia U is a Dual Core A9 with Mali-400, right? This one is a single core.

yep that's right, but trust me it does not perform like it has a dual core...I just gave that link for reference...just search it on flipkart or something ....I personally would never go for a Sony (SE toh no way since erricsson have seperated from Sony)

will think about it in the future seeing that xperia S is performing pretty well in the market.

  6. @all:

I am just curious as to how will the app 'androidlost ' work if it needs to be given admin rights manually first....I guess it will work only if you have installed teh app before losing the phone...or is it that there are certain features that work on the phone even without the admin rights?

  7. Badger, you tried PA JB / CM10 yet?

And restoring nandroid backup in CM9 kernel is safe, right?

wtf PA JB? where is this ? I can't find it on XDA!

CM9 Kernel is safe...I've flashed and wiped on it...never had the need to restore a nandroid yet :D *knock on wood*

  8. That's your opinion bro.

I myself like the Sense weather widget a lot more than Touchwiz weather widget. It looks very neat and the animations are great.

Tried a lot of widgets but they weren't even close.

Cartoon Camera . (Anybody likes to take cartoonish pics?)

EDIT: @Mandeep Would be nice if there was a free app. Paying for an app would be the last option.

    Rohan check this out:

I think the sense flip clock and weather is what suits your needs best :D

  9.

weather apps are not for checking what the weather is currently, but more for forecast .... for ex: when I'm going on a trip to a nearby city, I would like to know whats the weather there, so that I can prepare and go accordingly .... they dont work 100%, but some info is better than no info !

Yupp that's right.. Try this app called beautiful widgets or hd widgets they have a clock bery similar to the sense ui clock... My personal favorite us palmary weather app... Not at all like the sense app but it gives a beautiful forecast for the next 3 days and also supports multiple cities... Try it out!

@Alekh: The holo locker guy updated the app and fixed all the issues! No more bln messing and the lock is in the middle of the screen

  10. ^^ Yup, updated. Been using it for quite some time and works wonderfully ! Only feature I want is volume lock when the LS is on. Since it's a new project, there will hopefully be more updates.

The Holo unlock icon shifts to the right on 213dpi :(

had reported this before as well...anyways flashed a locking rings zip file for lockscreen...it looks damn cool!

  11. ^^ My friend bought the same one for 450-550 rs only... brilliant sound! Don't remember the model number...but for the price it's definitely worth it

@Dr Dre: Nice buys...and the PO umbrella is awesome! where did you get it?

    @voilater: Welcome to club :D

  12. ^^ It messes with my notifications and sometimes takes a little longer than the default LS to show up after pressing the power button...that's why had removed it...is this updated? I remember using it when it was first launched and linked in some XDA thread.

EDIT: Just installed again...now it messes with BLN too :(

  13. Note users who need the TW framework (most probably for SPen apps), try CleaNote v3. Using it with GL_NoteCore v5b = Buttery smooth & fast ! :D

^^ Just read the OP on XDA ...Bluetooth doesn't work right? CF Kernel fixes that though.

Ok so I am on Asylym ICS now if I want to flash this CleaNote ROM(really miss those TW Apps) I can just flash it straight away...but supposing I wanna come back to ICS from CleaNote can I follow this process without bricking the note :

    1)Goto Recovery: Wipe Dalvik, cache

2)Flash Abyssnote 4.2 Redpill touch Recovery

    3)Reboot recovery

4)Wipe Dalvik, cache, Factory data reset

    5) Flash Asylym ICS

Right? or should I flash a GB ROM using Odin to flash the Abyss Note recovery and then yada yada yada

  14. thanks kani, but the procedure mentioned requires me to download a file onto the pc & transfer it onto the S3, which the problem in the first place.

googled the same.....apparently it's a common problem. havent come across a solution in the 4-5 pages i've checked yet.

other S3 ppl , how you transfering music?

I know it says it's an app for SGS1 but it apparently works on the note so give it a try for SGS3 as well

you need root for it though ...
