    Isn't this the NoteCore kernel's updated (overhauled) version?

     

    You using the OCed one? It'll OC the GPU to S3 frequency (400MHz). I was using it with CleaNote ROM earlier this week, super smooth!

     

    I am using the oc one with rocket rom... Made the phone faster and smoother.. It's the best kernel on a TW ROM I've used till now... On cm9, for the time that I was using it, Thor stole the show.. later Antioch came up with his bbq version of android kernel (another superb kernel)

    Don't go for X2

    Go for newer Asha series ..

    Pretty awesome for that price

     

    S40 phones do have Whatsapp

     

    Yeah I know S40 phones have whatsapp but only some of them :(

    Anyways thanks for the info...any particularly good models to search for in the ASHA series? I tried searching but just came up with touch screen phones...I wanna go back to the keypad phones :D

    BTW I need some help...I remember using some Email client application for my work / office Emails which did not replace the lockscreen forcibly to the pin or password ...I can't remember the name of the app...does anyone know what I am talking about?

    And that's how my future was destroyed... Saw the post mid studying-break... Downloaded... Haven't studied since... Got a bakra who helped me reach 26k something rank from 76k in 3 matches :D

    Thinking if switching to a simple till the I phone 5 launches... Thinking of getting the Nokia X2 - 02... Anyone who has used it before.... Also can anyone confirm if it supports whatsapp? If no then any other simple candy bar phones?

    My desire HD keeps dropping wi-fi when its on sleep mode, any app/ mod I can flash to fix this?

     

    Maybe you have the option in settings set to drop it everytime the screen is off goto wireless networks >wifi>advanced> make sure that the "keep wifi on during sleep" is on always :)

    I use mtnl's new xpress unlimited plan... 750 rs 15GB at 2mbps and 512kbps thereafter unlimited downloads obviously as the name suggests.. Just switched over this month... Seems like a steal to me... 100 for 20GB/Month at 2mbps and 512kbps thereafter is another good option but I rarely download above 10gb as i have a good 3g plan for the phones as well... Just a heads up to any mumbai who can avail of these plans go for it... It's real good vfm :)

    ^^ Dude I can see ALL of my synced contact in Gmail...Are you sure you couldn't see any of your contacts at contacts.google.com?

     

     

    Maybe your contacts are synced then...just to confirm...Turn gmail contacts sync off...export all your contacts to SD CARD and delete all your contacts from the phone...turn sync back and see if google starts syncing it back on to your phone..

    I already synced my contacts to my account. How and where do I see them. I checked contacts.google.com and gmail, there is nothing there. If I lose my contacts, then how do I get them back?

    They're there.. Don't worry about it... And on top of that if you've backed up using go back up as you said then just copy the back up file from the directory gobackup to your pc or external hdd or whatever so that you will have a copy of your contacts and data as well.

    You're right. It needs root. I didn't know that since I've never not had root. :/

     

    dante77, you can instead use an app like My Backup Pro, ROM Control etc.

     

    Use Go backup... I think it's highly under rated.. Used it for my last 2 flashes and it was awesome... It even backs up the contacts and messages!

    Yeah, I guess that's right.

    Also hate the region locking policy on GPlay. These are simple APKs FFS ! :doh: Can't buy PvZ even though it has 2 versions. One is unavailable in my country & 2nd is incompatible with the device. WTF EA ! WTF ? :wallbash:

     

    Alekh, you might be knowing this but just in case you didn't get market enabler, it requires root but is great for getting apps that aren't available in our region :D

    Edit: Also last I read, CF3D wasn't so great on ICS, with random hangups and lags throughout. You on ICS or GB ?

     

    Yup am on ICS right now...no lags whatsoever...the loading screen goes blank but I don't mind not being able to see a loading bar for 10 seconds...

     

    Also I've seen many people on XDA asking for apks of free apps available on the play store because it's unavailable in their region or as in our case not compatible with the device...I wouldn't consider it the jack sparrow way if we got it from any other way since it is free any ways right?

     

    Also once installed the game downloads 530 MB worth data directly from fishlabs servers

     

    PS: Nobody is facing that wifi issue with whatsapp?

    ^^ Yeah I hear you !

     

    On a different note (pun intended) I face a problem with whatsapp...Whenever I am on Wifi I can't upload pics to any contacts...downloading pics works fine but uploading is never successful...any ideas why? I use a dlink router the MTNL guys give for 600rs on getting a Wifi connection from them...I have a feeling it's the router that is the culprit here...same issue with my sister's Xperia U as well.

     

     

    Also you guys have to play GOF2 THD using Chainfire's Chainfire3D application + NVIDIA Tegra addon...it is awesome!!! the app is available for download free of cost from the playstore :D
