  1. Yes, you really should drive a Cruze on stock tires and see whether u really really need a tire change. Frankly, you don't, but someone started off a convo on the teamBHP thread about the tire size possibly being a bit thin for the Cruze's wheelbase and immediately people were buying new tires left right and center..... some guys got into real trouble with larger-than-necessary tires that didn't fit too. Some serious problems with some guy with a Black Cruze who replaced the tires on his new Cruze first thing. Crazy ppl..

yeah will definitely TD it and decide, but if there would have been any major problem then GM would have taken steps to rectify it by now since it involves a 3 rd party and there is no way i am gonna go for larger tires.

  2. Yeah thts what I fail to understand, if ppl are gonna put better tires it's obviously gonna give better performance, I think the whole thing might be a bandwagon effect. Why waste 20k on a brand new tyre when u can get awesome accesiories for the same price

  3. What makes cruze a mouth-watering option is it's features and fun to drive quotient. However if I wanted a chauffer driven car, I would have gone for altis, because of it's space comfort and FE. I just could not imagine who would want to buy fluence diesel for 16-17 OTR, for what RCA inputs?

Btw gaurav did you change the tires of the cruze when you bought it? Coz guys in team bhp are saying that stock tires are pathetic and a tire swap is almost a necessity for cruze

  4. Ok, forget about the new company and stuff. the car itself, esp the diesel version is a major letdown

    http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/official-new-car-reviews/101671-renault-fluence-test-drive-review.html

The only killer feature thats available in this car and absent from all the other cars in the market is RCA AUX input instead of USB and 3.5 mm AUX input........ I mean RCA AUX input , WTF

this should give you guys a fair idea of how well they have judged the Indian market

  5. nah dude, i wont be considering Fluence. The same thing was said when Peugeot was launched in India in tie up with fiat, even though fiat had a solid presence in India during that time it was not able to save the car and now even Fiat has consolidated its position in the market. There is no point in making the same mistake again. Also keeping the sustainability issue aside, the new companies do have the problem of a*s and service center location. Nissan is already suffering from that problem right now.

  6. One of my car's tyres got a crack on its sidewall.. this one expense if not subsidized by the company is going to sting and pinch a lot :(

hadn't posted it for so long thinking it is a manufacturing defect but turns out it happened due to a very sharp object somewhere on the road.

and godspeed get curze AT if you must :naughty:

Try claiming a warranty on the tire if they are still on the warranty period, usually for the sidewalls they do honor it without asking lots of questions.

nah man, i dont like AT's at all. It has been close to 10 years that i have been driving and i still like it, taking away the gears would ruin the experience for me. maybe be 5-6 years down the line when i will be 30 i would consider buying an AT :D

  7. I'd stay away from cars with low presence in the country. Which makes it easier for me to narrow down the list of cars I'd shortlist in case I make a purchase. I'm not confident of buying a Nissan or a Renault etc today.

Volkswagen is picking up presence. Lot of Ventos and Polos on the road, so I'd take a chance with them though.

Exactly, members should avoid new car companies like plague. Apart from companies prospect, getting these cars serviced and after sales is a headache

  8. :giggle:

Your ride will be exclusive

    :P

Tell me abt it, our Peugeot was the 1st or the 2nd unit in Mumbai. It used to get wows wherever we used to go, few years down the line company packed up and we started getting wows in maintenance and repair bills :P

  9. Imo the Civic still looks better than Cruze. The dealer issue might not be a such a problem for me since the GM dealer from Navi mumbai is a good friend of my dads, but if the staff's themselves are noobs then there is hardly anything that could be done about it. BTW The 12K battery thing is a total rip off, i always get a discount and some monies back from the battery dealer for handing in the old battery. but i see this wont be happening with the GM guys it seems.

  10. Lol, my 1st uncle has a jetta. I never liked that car, and judging by his rants about the maintenance costs, I would advice every 1 to stay away from it. I have driven friends skoda superb , gem of a car, even trumps BMW and merc, too bad the diesel version is completely out of budget. I would be getting the car somewhere in month of November. Going to strike a deal with dad, where I would pay upfront 60-70 % of the total cost and rest will be on loan which will be paid by him

  11. check honda city automatic

Already have a civic and it's one of the best car around IMO performance wise , looks wise and for the price range, so no point in going and buying another honda and I am specifically looking for a diesel engine, buying. a petrol car with today's fuel prices is out of question. :suicide:

Hence only cruze , Altis and new verna is in the option.

Btw I don't know about others but I hate automatics, I feel te gears are integral part of driving expereince , at least for me.

  12. There is a civic in the family, and it is theoretically my car. But I want to get a car with my own monies, even if it makes me bankrupt :P . New altis model looks awesome, but from te surface it feels that altis is meant to be chauffer driven, and cruze is more of a drivers car, I have not taken a test drive of either. I can live without electronic seat adjustment and the flat floor like the one in civic is useful when there are 4-5 ppl in the car. So don't need either of them, I am even considering the new verna , it is fully loaded with features, but the only problem is that from the reviews it doesn't look like much of a drivers car
