But the intercontinental guys won't provide a tourist voucher, tht damn thing is required or visa. I guess I'll just wait till day and even enquire with local travel agents over here.
-
I've found this website for the Russian tourist visa invitation and hotel reservation confirmation,
http://www.waytorussia.net/Services/VisaSupport/Tourist.html?Submit=Get+It+Online+Now
It's costing me 30$, do u guys think I can get it cheaper anywhere else or should I just go for this
-
I am not planning to stay in a hotel at either of the places, maximum I would stay for 2 -3 days in a hostel in both th places. I would be spending atleast 9 days in Egypt and 7 days in Russia. For the hotel confirmation, I have thought about booking a hotel online and then cancel the booking after I get the visas( will book a hotel which charges zero or low penalty for cancellation). However, the Russian tourist voucher thing, I don't have any idea how to get that done, will appreciate any help or inputs for this issue.Mate,
Doing the voucher online or via a local travel agent? In most cases online is better and faster. Also if possible do go to St. Petersburg also (time permitting)
And my brother in law is from Kathmandu, so let me know when u do plan to travel, he left in 1994 lol but still can help you.
I had once flown to thailand, making a fake travel Iterniary in MS word, but this Russian thing is too risky to do it.
I am not going to Nepal anymore buddy, just did my taxes and due to no planning, I have had to pay a high amount this time(high for me) in fact I was so demotivated, tht I though about cancelling this whole thing today, but then I thought if govenement is going to take my money and waste it, why not I do the same and have some fun while doing it

I wish the same when traveling alone. I had the pleasure of roaming around and visiting Doha for a whole day courtesy Qatar airlines. By spare change I meant an extra T-shirt, shorts etc. As in long flights you might not know when you need it. Never traveled Indian airlines but all other airlines will not hold the connecting flights as they can't make the other passengers wait.
In my experience 40 min is very short and if your flight is even 20 min late then you can be pretty sure to miss the flight. It actually depends on the airport and boarding procedures.
I am taking the Royal Jordanian flight bro, and yes you and sixth sense are right, they will take care of the connecting flight and in case I miss the flight, the will provide me with accommodation, I had mailed the Royal Jordanian guys and they have replied that since we are booking the flights through them, they would be responsible for everything, and if I am to miss a flight they would re book me on a different flight free of cost.Godspeed
What airline are you using? I have twice had a plane waiting for me alone,
Last month my connecting flight from Graz to Munich arrived late and the flight to Mumbai was waiting about 35 minutes (Lufthansa)
In October Emirates kept a flight waiting for 5 of us to New York in Dubai.
From what I know EU carriers have better laws in terms of what to do for customers in terms of delayed flights or missed connections.
P.S that's a really wild travel plan
Cairo with Moscow have a great trip.I am doing the Egypt and Moscow coz both have been my fav destinations and the tickets are working out for both of them in reasonable price, I have to sort out the foolish Russian visa requirement of tourist voucher and would would book the ticket probably by Tuesday ( if prices don't shoot up)
No mate, they do hold the flights, I have xperinced it 2wice, once when I was flying out to Heathrow from mumbai, I always take a direct flight and always fly jet coz of travel miles. The jet flight was delayed more than 3 hours, only because the connecting flight of their code share partner was delayed. Tht was some experience, people were literally fighting with the ground staff, trying to explain them how it was all wrong, and the ground staff was literally not bothered about it. Even though I like jet airways, they are perfect example of "idiot devo bhav" , I mean making your own 300 +passengers inconvenient so that you can get on board 2 passengers from codeshare partner is foolishness.@Godspeed: I highly doubt airlines would hold a flight. Every second spent at the gate is additional money to the airport out of the airlines pocket. The captain and FA's first job is to get the boarding done and the door closed as a flight is not considered to have departed on time until the door have closed. Once the door has closed, a plane can sit 2 hrs on a runway waiting for its turn and still be considered to have departed on time.
TL;DR - Do not bank upon airlines holding back a flight for connecting passengers.
2nd time the Srilankan airlines from Colombo was delayed as many passengers did not arrive from connecting flight
-
Yup if it's the same airlines that is making you change the planes then they will take care of it even if you miss the flight. I've had 2 instances where I missed the connecting flight. If the next flight is within 8 he's they will genteelly provide you an accommodation for some good inside the airport. If the next flight is like next day or something then they usually provide you a good hotel (usually not below 4 star) and all meals free with transportation.
Generally they won't put you in any other airlines and you would have to wait for their next flight to the same destination. Also sometimes your luggage may go and you can be left behind due to lengthy boarding procedures. I've been in this situation once but I always carry a spare change in my hand baggage.
Edit : they will also take care of the transit visa of the country you got stuck in.
Thks mate, I do know for the fact that the airlines(Indian ones) hold up the departure of flight in case the passengers from connecting flight have not arrived. I never took a connecting flight myself (except for maldives, where it was super smooth transition), hence was a bit worried as i would be doing the trip solo. Nice to know the airlines provide free accommodation and food, now i wouldn't mind even if i miss the flight back home (Infact after reading your post, i kind of wish that i actually miss the flight and somehow get a free stay in amman
). Connecting or not, i always keep my monies on myself instead of putting it on the luggage. Usually, i only carry a very small bag(big enough to fit in cabin) and a notebook bag. However, since this time, the destinations different weathers, Egypt being hot and Moscow being cold. I would have to risk taking a large bag and put it in luggage section
-
OK guys, need real urgent advice from folks who take the connecting flight routes frequently.
I am currently planning a Mumbai- Egypt-Russia-Mumbai trip. The flight from Mumbai to Cairo is direct, however, for flight between Cairo to Moscow, there is a change of planes in Amman (Time for change of planes 1 hour 45 mins), and then for the return flight to Mumbai, there is again a change of plans in Amman, however, they are providing only a measly 40 mins. I have used a single airlines website to get the flight schedule, and i am under assumption that since the airline is advertising those schedules themselves, there would be a good chance to take those flights on time (or why would they show connecting flights with such a low change time), i may be wrong. I have only once taken a connecting flight, and tht too was for Maldives.
I am going to make the query on the companies helpline, when they will open up on Monday, but i am a but skeptical they would be able to help much.
Will i be provided with alternative arrangements if i miss any of the connecting flights?
Please help

@gs,i would have surely not believed it if someone had told me..but experiencing it myself was a totally different thing
No, i doubted the veracity of my friends story not yours, coz the manner and the content of the story looked too spooky to me

nice thread

well came across three such incidents in the last two years...sharing one of them now..
this happened around may last year, one day my best friend informed me that his brother in law's wife is possessed ....and they are calling a highly renowned maulvi (muslim priest if you never heard of it
) to get rid of that spirit...we both had our apprehensions if this is really true or not...so we decided to go and see what happens when the maulvi confronts the woman ...now the woman in question was very much normal before all this ..she was working in a mnc in a good position also..but the recent happenings at her place (like making weird sounds at night, beating up her husband once (lol yea) etc etc ) made her family members quite sure something was wrong..
anyways it was thursday evening ,we arrived at her house..soon the maulvi arrived ...he started reading verses from Quran sharif (our holy book ) ..
after sometime he asked for the family members to bring that woman...she came normally in front of the maulvi...things were absolutely normal...but within half hour suddenly the whole room was smelling..smelling real bad ..cant really describe the smell, but yea it was really unbearable..the maulvi kept on reciting his prayers..and then we noticed that woman biting her fingers..she started literally chewing her fingers ..and her fingers were bleeding badly..We all were shocked, but since the maulvi had instructed not to do any sort of interruption in between,we all kept staring at all this,in simple words hum sab ki phat gayi thi
And then she fainted..After all this the priest told us that it was not possible for him to get rid of this thing..and they have to take her to someone more powerful ex Ajmer Sharif etc to make her normal...so the next day the family left for Ajmer..and thankfully after staying there for sometime...she became normal..and is fine now
Something similar was narrated by my friend many years ago. I still doubt its veracity but it gave me goosebumps when i heard the story.
Apparently my friends sister was possessed by some kind of spirit, they used to stay at a big house in gujrat, and his sister used to stay normal at some point and then all of a sudden she would start acting weird in the house, i.e. walking around naked, hurling abuses at people etc. My friend was very young at that point of time, and so out of his naivety, one night he went up to his sister and asked her, why she talking to herself all the time in her room. Her sister replied to him, "There are so many people in the room with us" . He froze for a moment and then walked away, then after a few days, when some kind of holy guy came in to exorcise the spirit, she started beating that guy, and then they suggested to take her to some kind of religious place, after which she became 'normal'

So this thread urged me to visit r/nosleep, which routed me here. Went ahead, bought and finished in one sitting. Very good read, especially the later chapters. Becomes more and more creepy as you ease into it !
Fukat wala story batao, i dont want to pay monies for getting scared

You mind is still pure

I don't believe in god bro

We are getting OT, but I am pretty sure that bhagvad Gita mentions about Dhrtirshtra in the opening lines itself, and then later in other pagesDhritrashtra does'nt come in Bhagvad Gita..
-
What's surprising? 2nd world war planes needed oxygen rich air for engines not as a fuel ofcourse.. Its for combustion
Yep, all the combustion based engines require oxygen to maintain combustion. But from what I had seen in discovery/national geo a while back was that the gases also reduce the buyoancy of the ship, which causes them to sink.
-
I've read the entire Bhagvad Gita a long time back, and even I did not understand the dhritrashtra reference for the century.

I think I am gonna go bhangarh next month now, anyways I had to cancel my Nepal trip, so this would substitute it. Seriously

Dne some research, and tht place looks errignly beautiful. Avkash any idea how to get there cheaply from jaipur?

I have stopped getting déjà vu moments for quite some time now

Well I didn't actually wanted to scare the guys over here hence i was making fun of th video myself, but there are only 4 houses in the radius of 3 km in my native place. Half the population of my village of tht time I.e we 6-7 guys were in the plantation. When u cub it with my very recent experience, it does seem tht something is amiss, but when I went to investigate alone this time, I didn't see anything. It's a kid. In a tree.
Granted, at an untimely hour. There's nothing 'supernatural' about that.
It's odd. It's strange. It's creepy. It's weird. It's scary. It's not supernatural. You know what would have been supernatural? Had he suddenly disappeared. Had he started floating.
And FYI, I'm not jumping to conclusions - Wouldn't you agree the best way to be rational about a strange event is to take a stand of normalcy and then work from there? That's what I was doing. Everything is normal unless proven otherwise. 'That was a ghost' is such a far-reaching conclusion. Is it possible? Maybe. But only after cancelling out every other possibility. In this case we don't seem to have enough information to say it's anything supernatural or paranormal. It's just weird.
Also, some guys are of opinion tht it's a beautifully scripted movie, well there was no YouTube back then, forget smartphone, I didn't even have a cell phone by then, I mean there was no motive to shoot and share it with friends and get the kudos. It really doesn't bother me if members think its a fake, I had just posted it to give something evidential too look at. But to really think it is a kid sitting on top of a mango plantation in middle of nowhere seems a bit far fetched idea to me. There are so many other trees in neighbourhood, he didn't have to risk his life by drowning in the small irrigation canal, or hurt himself in the fence, just to wank off on my tree

@avkash and others, I will try to find the video and capture it from television and pm it to u guys in couple of days, will also include the portion of my native place to show how isolated the place is, but u guys have to promise not to post it over FB.

2. Reading Shantz' and one more guy's post here and I guess black magic is a thing and pretty big in India. My Grand parents tell me about this earthen pot filled with rice and turmeric and blood etc. which was found hung on our main gate and was in some way disposed off, can't remember right now how. We had a pretty big car accident soon after that. Changed our lives. Can be a co-incidence. Again, I don't know what to make of it.
One of the ICU's at Fortis Hospital in Mulund is also supposed to be giving jeepers to people who are getting admitted there 1 of my very very distant relative and one of my fathers friend was admitted in that ICU, and both of them felt as if some was choking them at the night while sitting on their chest. They had to be moved out of that room, and the staff says its a common complaint for people who get admitted there

The video was shot even b4 Blair witch project I think, those bastards copied my filmLoved the video. Just like a movie trailer. Blair Witch Project stuff. Brilliant.

I've tagged a while back in thr video tht u've posted the gal who was with me recently when the tree started shaking aggressively recently, so her possible reply might be put your faith back into the videohttp://www.indianvideogamer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=798&page=33#entry260170I'm flipping back to real video theory (yes, I'm bin pende ka lota)

I know that most of the stuff about the scams and such stories like saving gals from getting raped/molested , putting up a determined fight against university in UK, and videos like these might look unreal. But that's how much of a bad luck magnet I am, I keep getting myself into wrong spots and somehow I find it funny to share it with you folks

-
Nah mate, the video predates IVG by many years, it's more than a decade old, at a time when we were using 56.6k connections, I wasn't a troll then, the video is very much real, and there can be no normal or abnormal guy sitting on top of a tree at that point of time. The 1st instinct for any boy or any person when trespassing would be to make a run for it when they are spotted or hear some 1, we were there for about 15-20 mins before we saw that. The place is kind of in a restricted area, with small irrigation canal guarding the entrance from one side and fencing from another.Damn, now I think GS took us all for a ride :|
IVG is the only place I shared it, and I pretty much don't care if other think its a superbly scripted short film. Just thought it would make a good contribution.

Now even I get it, he was having his happy time and must have gotten scared when we spotted him, when we asked questions he must have become speechless and oly slightly turned hi head towards us, indicating us to leave.Maybe he was masterbating was about to cum, hence that silent look.
:
I will have to install a new signboard in the plantation now, in awadhi language
"Bagiya mein hilana mana hai"

I don't even know if my handy cam still works, will try to find it after the holi, but most of the guys have been able to view it right. Btw AFAIR, it looked a bit scary on e bigger screen, the part where he calmly turned his/her head towards us.Godspeed the video you posted seems to be offscreen from the vid cam
Can you post the original quality video some how

Bring in more stories folks,
Also, I think I am gonna go to tht Bhangarh fort now, just to check out how the place is, I had anyways skipped Jaisalmer during my last trip, so chance to do both now. Jaipur-bhangarh-jaipur- Jaisalmer
